Purposefully came out during the rain expecting a complete disaster and was happy that it wasn't. Moving around was actually pretty hard so as stated in the description bring hiking poles is recommended. Ideally a backpacking set up would be great as moving up and down the hill is hard and hence why they offer porter services. I would have liked to explore the property more, but due to the rains I hesistated since I did not want to contribute to erosion of the land. Overall it was great despite the once a year rains that CA gets and I would like to come again when it is dry.

Camping at Allison’s DeTour De Luz was awesome. She was very accommodating to our needs and helped us get all set up at shady oaks. Highly recommend that spot as it is shaded, and had an ample amount of room for our 2 person tent + our dog. Nice views as well if you were to hike up the hill and if you were to campy up there, but we preferred the bottom due to my partner being pregnant, and Allison helped us out a bunch with getting us all set up.

Relaxing and peaceful camping trip. Was greeted by Allie upon arriving which was pleasant. I locked myself out of my car and she offered to help me. Even though that happened I still had an amazing time! Thank you Allie!!

I’d absolutely recommend to my friends and family to go meet Allison and explore the campsite. Her next level hospitality and the awe-inspiring nature made me immediately want to book again. She even brought fresh frozen peach treats for my dog and I!
Tue directions were clear, communication was good, and her flexibility made for a stress free 🏕️ experience 🤙

Detour N De Luz - BYOTent
Allison was very welcoming and kind, she was present upon arrival to provide water and a machette to clear much of the brush. Unfortunately we were unable to camp here. The site itself was extremely overgrown and on a sloping, sandy hillside. Maybe if we had our backpacking gear we would have had better luck, but we were unable to find a flat , clear location suitable for our tent despite 1.5 hours of hiking around, cutting down brush and encountering several rattle snakes. The grill area was nice but the only clear, flattened area. This property has much potential but not the day we selected. Luckily another hipcamp in the area was able to accommodate us.
