I just got back from a lovely weekend at Sunny’s cabin with my two kids, and it was exactly what we needed. The cabin is tucked into the redwoods, quiet and peaceful, and it really felt like a little forest adventure for the kids. Our favorite part was sitting by the fire at night, talking and relaxing together. Sunny was a wonderful host. She was warm, responsive, and helpful whenever I had a question, but also gave us plenty of privacy. Her two friendly dogs were a huge hit with the kids and made the place feel even more welcoming. I left feeling rested, my kids had a great time, and I would happily come back. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a cozy, nature-filled getaway.

Sunny is so sweet and this place is so charming! I had a lovely time staying here while visiting Mendocino, which is about 40 mins away. There were a couple things I was anxious about - windey roads and the steep driveway to get down to Sunny’s land - but all turned out fine and she put me right at ease. The cabin itself is very cute, outdoor kitchen and shower well functioning, and the dogs kept me company when I was by myself at night!

Our trip to Sunnyland was such a delight! The host herself was extremely kind and generous, and offered us an upgraded campsite since our other campsite had a bit of a mosquito problem after the recent rain. We met her family and her two adorable dogs who were so sweet and guarded our tent during the night! The location is great, and the sites themselves are quiet and mostly isolated. I would highly recommend Sunnyland to anyone looking for a place to camp, and we will definitely be back next time we’re in that area!

we had a beautiful evening and great sleep at Sunny’s place! sunset and stars from the deck were stunning, bed was super comfy, and it was such a treat to make breakfast with eggs from the chickens :) the tiny cabin is near to the main house on the property but plenty of visual privacy and super quiet at night and into the morning. Sunny was super kind and helpful!

Peaceful and beautiful cabin spot

I loved camping in Sunny's spot! If you're looking for a secluded spot near the coast, you can admire the stars and hang out with dogs here - they are very polite - equipped with a full kitchen, shower and other amenities, would certainly be back for another great time.

Yay Sunnyland!

We loved Sunnyland! The directions were clear and driving in was beautiful. We did have some trouble driving up (2wd) to leave but Sunny was super helpful and we made it out! We had a great time hanging out with the boys but still got our privacy. The land is breathtaking and the vibes are WONDERFUL. I can’t say enough great things!

My significant other and I truly enjoyed our time at Sunny’s land, Sunny was so sweet and helpful and very responsive to all of my needs. The tiny cabin was so cozy and cute! The bed was very comfy, the views were breathtaking, and our favorite part was our camp fire with the view of the stars.

Orchard Camp

Sunny hosts a beautiful property with amazing views. I was greeted by her sweet dogs while coming down the driveway — which I highly recommend cars have 4WD/ good traction to get there. Orchard camp is great for one or two people who want to just plant a tent, see some incredible stars, get to sleep and head out for the day. This area of the property cannot have campfires and it definitely makes sense… too risky. Thankful for my stay! Thank you!

Sunnyland was gorgeous!

My stay at Sunny land was absolutely lovely! The cabin itself is so cozy, with a deck and a gorgeous view. There's a kitchen -- sink, mini fridge, and propane stove, with dishes and soap provided. Cute working shower with hot water, and the outdoor toilet was intimidating, but not nearly as bad as I thought it would be -- plus the view from it is beautiful. Chloe and Echo were very capable escorts around the site, and Sunny herself was so kind and sweet, and helped us navigate around the area a bit (we drove in to Mendocino and did the skunk train at Fort Bragg). Highlight of the trip was absolutely the stars! So many stars, I don't think I've ever seen so many in my life.

We had a FANTASTIC time at Sunnyland! Sunny is an amazing, welcoming, and helpful host. Her two sons are very sweet and helpful as well, and her two dogs are absolutely adorable!! The campsite was both beautiful and convenient. Overall, it was an outstanding experience, and we would highly recommend Sunnyland to all campers!

Fauna & Flora

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Fauna & Flora on Hipcamp. Our host, Sunny, was nothing short of incredible—so welcoming and accommodating from the moment we arrived. She really made sure we felt right at home. A definite must-try: grab the dozen eggs she offers! The yolks are the most vibrant, gorgeous orange you’ve ever seen, and they taste just as amazing as they look. We also really appreciated how private and peaceful the entire setting was—it gave my fiancé and me the perfect little retreat to relax and enjoy each other’s company. Highly recommend this spot!

Magical camping spot for families!

Our family of three loved camping in Sunnyland! Sunny’s directions were perfect, and we landed at Ridgetop and were in awe of the beautiful vista! Sunny gave us a tour of her orchard and let us pick fresh apples, plums, and blackberries. Her sons couldn’t have been more welcoming of our 4.5year old, who had so much fun playing with them. We enjoyed a magical night roasting s’mores and stargazing. Her incredibly sweet dogs stayed by our side overnight which made us feel protected. In the morning, Gabe got to look for eggs with her sons while we enjoyed our morning coffee watching the sun break through the fog. Thank you, Sunny, for such a wonderful stay and sharing your home and family with us!

Sunny was super kind and awesome. She helped us move all of our stuff down to the campsite when we arrived, and move it back up when we were departing, which was awesome. The property is beautiful, and close to both Mendocino and Ukiah for great hiking. Would definitely recommend staying here!!!

When we first got there we had the option to choose between Redwood forest area & Fauna & Flora & ultimately ended up choosing Fauna & Flora but can’t leave a review for that one since we booked redwood. Redwood was definitely beautiful & we’d love to come back & stay there but Fauna & Flora was just what we needed this time. My partner, our son, & I went for my partners & my birthday trip which is a day apart. We went expecting a nice relaxing weekend which we got but also we got so much more! We didn’t expect to get so close with Sunny & her sons & we can’t wait to come back! The weekend blew us away with the sounds of nightlife, the beautiful view of the stars, & how welcoming Sunny & her boys were. Thank you so much for having us. 10/10 would recommend.

This was such a wonderful stay. We have 2 kids and stayed with another family with 2 kids and our kids had a wonderful time. Sunny’s kids were so welcoming to our kids showing them the chickens, ducks and their pond . Sunny’s dogs were the sweetest things. They were always roaming around checking in on us and never a bother. The only time I heard them bark was during 1 late night. It was not bothersome to me at all as I knew they were barking at something that was not supposed to be in their space which was around our campsite. I felt very protected. I never heard them bark outside of that one incident. We also were in driving distance to a nice sandy beach about 30 min away where we enjoyed half a day of play there. Sunny and her family were such great hosts. I didn’t see her much but when I did she was always so sweet.The stay was peaceful, lovely and fun.

Unique off grid experience!

Directions were clear but still a little difficult to find, recommend getting in before dark. Definitely a glamping situation. Pit toilet is hard to access, and had to ask for toilet paper. Sunny was very accommodating and wifi was great. Pet dog lives outside and barks throughout the night. Kids will love to meet you!

Safe campsite in an isolated area, 30-60mins drive to the next closest towns, 15mins away from a store. Sunny lives nearby so you are not in complete isolation. Sunny's dogs greeted us right away, and her kids not too long after. The dogs dropped by for treats and pets, and the kiddos dropped by for treats and play. Definitely swing by if you have kids! Very friendly and good people We fit a 10-person tent comfortably. There's a functional sink, and hole-in-the-ground portapotty around the next corner (does not smell!). The closest campsite is at least 3mins walk away so you've got privacy. It is a steep drive down and up, we struggled a little bit with a fully packed up car going up. The stars at night were amazing. The dogs swung by every once in a while to check in on us, never felt safer! Would come back if we're ever in the area again!

absolutely loved this spontaneous decision to book the tiny house. it was so cozy and cute. the outdoor kitchen and shower were awesome. the bed was super comfy. and the host and her sons were the best! such a sweet family and so accommodating and hospitable. this place is definitely a community feel. you’ll get privacy and solitude, and quiet night sleep, least i did! the fire was lovely in the morning when it was chilly. i brought my own camp toilet, but there is one down a carved out trail that is not accessible to all at current. very private though. in between. the coast and redwoods. amazing stuff to do when not at the tiny house. i just loved my time just, being. it was really so very lovely.

Unbelievable wisterias!!!🌹🌸💐🪻

My partner and I loved the tiny cabin! We felt very safe and enjoyed the closeness of the cabin to the families home. The fire stove inside our room was amazing and made the space so cozy and warm. The land was beautiful and all the wisterias were breathtaking. We enjoyed talking and playing with the kids but were also able to have time alone. Sunny was super welcoming and so were her kids and pups. We will be back again 💕

Cozy site with the sweetest dogs!

Had a great time spending a couple nights at Sunny’s land! if you love dogs, highly recommend as she has the sweetest dogs :) felt really safe when the pups escorted us to the bathroom and led the way to the site haha Sunny is also really nice and gave us a ton of fresh eggs! Would definitely recommend staying here if you are looking for a nice spot to stay the night to visit Mendocino or any other surrounding areas

Camping with the views on a balcony

One of the best places I've stayed. I usually tent camp, but the lodging experience was tremendously out of this world. The host is such a beautiful person inside and out. She's very attentive and is there for whatever you need. The views from all of the areas I explored were breathtaking. The uniqueness of this place gives it the best charm. I definitely will be coming back. Even just to say hi to her and her family. They truly are wonderful.

Sunny is a wonderful host, she is so kind, warm and welcoming and really creates a sense of community. We really enjoyed this site - it has some of the most beautiful sunrises, sunsets, and stars we have ever seen. Her dogs are so friendly and we really enjoyed having them around to cuddle in our tent and join us for walks. The property is magical and loved being able to walk down to see horses, alpacas, and more. 10/10 recommend and will be back for more! Thank you Sunny and your family for everything, you really made this trip special!
