Welcome to Camp SourBerry! Here, you can pitch your tent with a view. You can enjoy the feeling of rural seclusion while within walking distance (~1 mile) from shops and restaurants in Oakhurst. The South Gate to Yosemite National Park is less than a 30-minute drive (~75 minutes drive-time to the Valley floor), and Bass Lake's shores are only 15 minutes away. Local wildlife is abundant. Wild turkeys are a common sighting, especially in the spring and fall, as are squirrels, bears, deer, coyotes, and bobcats, plus all kinds of native birds (hawks, quail, jays, woodpeckers, ravens, vultures, and eagles). We have a small homestead-style farm and so do the neighbors, so you can hear the distant sounds of chickens, turkeys, sheep, goats, and cows. Because the safety of our animals (and yours) is paramount, we do not allow pets off-leash. Whether you want to stay put and enjoy the natural setting or have a base from which to explore world-class attractions, we would love to host your next vacation.

Greetings Hipcampers, Welcome to Camp SourBerry! Here, you can pitch your tent with a view. You can enjoy the feeling of rural seclusion while within walking distance (~1 mile) from shops and restaurants in Oakhurst. The South Gate to Yosemite National Park is less than a 30-minute drive (~75 minutes drive-time to the Valley floor), and Bass Lake's shores are only 15 minutes away. We are rugged, so you provide your own toilet facilities. Local wildlife is abundant. Wild turkeys are a common sighting, especially in the spring and fall, as are squirrels, bears, deer, coyotes, and bobcats, plus all kinds of native birds (hawks, quail, jays, woodpeckers, ravens, vultures, and eagles). We have a small homestead-style farm and so do the neighbors, so you can hear the distant sounds of chickens, turkeys, sheep, goats, and cows. Lovely peaceful place, clean and tranquil with super helpful host. It feels like miles from anywhere but is actually close to the main routes through the town. Really enjoyed my stay.

Camp SourBerry was an excellent place to spend the evening before beginning my Yosemite adventure. The campsite was clean and the surroundings were beautiful. I also found it to be quiet and the right distance from town…not too far and not too close. The hosts were friendly, kind, and willing to answer my questions. I also sensed they genuinely cared for my well-being. It was so great to meet them and I would stay there again without any hesitation!

Dog barked all night. Had to leave at 4am and park behind a hotel to sleep. Probably the worst experience I’ve had at a Hipcamp. Beautiful property though.

Incredible views and baby lambs!

Chelsea and Wayne were very welcoming and friendly and incredible hosts. They allowed us to feed their baby lambs and see their farm which was the coolest experience! The campsite was very well maintained and had such beautiful views. Walking distance to a weekly farmers market and not far from town in case you need anything from a store but still felt like you were miles and miles away from civilization. Will definitely be our go to when we visit Yosemite!

Perfect fit for our class B for one night. Peaceful and smelled heavenly with all the wild flowers and clover. I would not recommend for a furry or long haired dog.

Private and quiet only 20 minutes from the south entrance to Yosemite. Chelsea was prompt to reply and checked in to see if we needed anything. She even invited us to hold the newborn lambs that were born just that morning!

Had a great experience at Camp SourBerry! Very nice pull through campsite with trees all around and a small meadow right next to visit. We were visited by some pretty cool wild turkeys on the first day. It is only minutes from town, but it feels like miles away. Easy to get to and find as well. I highly recommend!

Quiet and close to Yosemite

Stayed 2 nights 20 minutes from south entrance to Yosemite. Set up on a hill with mountain views and it was very quiet. The wildflowers were beautiful. Chelsea was quick to reply and checked in to see if we needed anything. As a bonus we got to hold their newborn baby lambs!

We had such a fantastic time here! The location was easy to find thanks to the directions provided, the amenities were nice when we wanted to enjoy the open air, the proximity to town was really helpful when searching for extra supplies, and the location to Yosemite made it very accessible no matter how busy your day is!! Definitely will camp here again!

A fantastic day and a fantastic place easy to figure out the place is really well taken care of and we had a real good time. Love to come back here next time we’re up there. Thank you for preparing the place well and helping us to get where we needed to be without any trouble.

This was a perfect stop over from our long drive headed North from Southern California. We arrived at night and finding it was no problem, given the hosts directions on video. I only wished we could have stayed for another night. Very relaxing and not to far off the road, but far enough.

Chelsea was a very helpful host, communicating directions clearly and offering to assist, if needed. The location was nice and peaceful. You can hear cows, roosters and the occasional dog in the distance. It's great she allows dogs, but I suggest keeping them out of the uncut grass around the parking area. Prickly seeds covered our dog and it took about 2 hours to remove them all. Other than that, it was a nice stay.

Excellent site, lots of space, lots of shade, and lots of stars. There were a lot of yellow-jackets, but they weren't aggressive. The dirt road to the site was passable by "two-wheel drive with bald tires." Would absolutely recommend.

Yosemite Serenity on the Farm

A quiet, serene and secluded space not far from the southern entrance to Yosemite. This beautiful farm space has you atop a hill with open skies, trees and brush all around. Watching the sky go pink and red all around at dusk, with roosters crowing in the distance...this will be etched in my mind. If you want to escape the crowds of the nearby campgrounds and enjoy the escape, this place is for you. Chelsea and her husband do a great job caring for the property. It's a space, a picnic table and - when not in high fire risk season - a lovely fire pit and chairs. In the morning, Chelsea invited us to bring our child by to meet and feed her ewes, and even helped us get some farm fresh eggs. She's so nice and really cares about providing a great experience. Supermarkets and charming shops 10 minutes away, Mariposa Grove entrance about 30 minutes, and Bass Lake for swimming, boating and Sea Doo-ing 15 minutes away (I recommend lunch at Ducey's). Would return and recommend!

Great place to stay!!! Unfortunately, we has very high temperatures, which made it not easy with three young kids and no electric connection. Luckily, the temperature falls quickly at the end of the day. The spot is really calm and wonderful! Thanks Chelsea for all nice advices and support!

a safe place for camping small groups, protected and very quiet just a few minutes from the city and the lake, just don't forget to bring insect repellent, traps for bees because many arrive in the morning to collect honey, at night there are quite a few crickets that They catch on in the tents but it is normal in the forest, just as a recommendation to bring something for all types of insects.

Beautiful and fairly remote spot for how close to town it is! Chelsea and her husband were super accommodating and I would stay again if we were in the area.

Camp Sourberry was the perfect respite from crowded campgrounds! The second we pulled in, I gasped at the view, wildflowers in the meadow, and complete privacy. We loved meeting the sheep and beautiful dogs nearby. The fire pit and picnic table was so convenient for dinner under the stars. Thank you, Chelsea!

We loved Camp Sourberry as a base camp for exploring Yosemite. It felt like you were in the middle of nowhere yet ridiculously close to town (which helped when our camper battery died!) Chelsea's directions were spot on and the site easily accommodated our 33ft travel trailer. Loved the firepit placement, stargazing and hearing a few wild animals calling in the night. Site was level, clean and garbage/recycling cans made it easy for us to maintain. If you visit Oakhurst, be sure to go Axe Throwing. Amazing staff and so fun!
