Best Toilet I’ve Ever Sat On!!
I was passing through Arkansas on a cross country camping trip and I thankfully found Zenhawk’s space last minute. He was very prompt in responding to my request to book and with answering any further questions I had.
Traveling alone as a woman can be scary and strange but I was warmly greeted by a very enthusiastic pup named Freddy, Zenhawk, and eventually even a cute little gray cat who decided to hide under my tent as I was setting it up. They even brought me a bowl of fresh local strawberries as I was setting up my tent! The camping space is rustic (fully functional toilet behind a tree with no walls, which was the most amazing thing ever honestly) but it was also close to their actual house so I felt safe and if I needed anything I could have easily gone and knocked on their door. They invited me to hang by the campfire that evening and roast some marshmallows but I was beyond exhausted so I unfortunately had to decline.
Overall, would recommend, but with a few caveats; Freddy the dog is VERY stoked about cars. Specially when they are moving. When I arrived and left he was running circles around my car trying to bite my tires (in a fun playful way.) Zenhawk assured me he wouldn’t get hurt and that I should just keep driving slowly. I was fine with this, and thought it was cute, but I could see how this could become a stressful situation for a different driver. Also, I love cats. LOVE. But, turns out, cats and tents aren’t the best combo. I had to pay very close attention to kitty to make sure her nails didn’t rip any holes in my tent while she was being playful. These aren’t by any means negatives for me! But if you aren’t an animal lover, this spot may not be the place for you!
