Ready to Retreat? Come discover Brookside RV Retreat, located and surrounded by the beautiful Ouachita Mountains 20 miles east of Mena and 30 miles south of Mt. Ida, Arkansas. Our RV facilities were designed by people who understand you don't want to be crowded. This is why we have a very limited number of sites, which are spaciously arranged, allowing you as much privacy and solitude as you want. Guests have private access to the Big Fork Creek, a great place to walk or picnic while listening to the sounds of the water. In the warmer months, cool off and take a dip in the crystal clear mountain stream. The creek runs along the backside of a 40 acre plot, all of which you are welcome to explore for swimming holes and waterfalls! In addition, we considered a dark-friendly campground, which means at night, the skies come alive with stars, constellations, and a view of the Milky Way. This 2 bed, 1 bath cabin is tucked into the woods with peaceful and quiet privacy, yet still easy to get to right off of the highway. It is located conveniently next to our Full hook-up RV campground and right next to the Big Fork creek with a waterfall right in the back yard. Everything is completely furnished including bed linens, futon, towels, dishes, pots/pans, washer/dryer, fridge, gas stove, dining room, living room with DVD player, game closet, grill/firepit, covered porch, and more. Well within riding distance to Wolf Pen Gap (North and East Trailhead) and Fouche Mountain trails! No need to trailer, ride straight from your camp site. Other sites to see include Little Missouri Falls and Eagle Rock Loop hiking! New for 2025, we now have Viasat High Speed Internet at the cabin.

The camper is already here! Have you ever wanted to camp without the hassle and expense of pulling a camper? Now you don’t have to! Just pack your bags and come enjoy a weekend at our campgrounds at Brookside RV and Cabin Retreat. Stay in this fully loaded and furnished 2023 Jayco camper right here at Brookside or we can pull it and set it up for you at any surrounding campground! Features include: A queen size bed, fold out sofa, two full bunks. Kitchen has full sized fridge, gas, stove, oven, microwave, and double sink. A table and two benches seat four with plenty of storage space. The bathroom has a tub and shower, with a separate vanity and sink. Kitchenware and utensils and all linens and towels provided. Just steps away from the Big Fork Creek and waterfalls, and within riding distance to Wolf Pen Gap and Fouche Mountain trails! No need to trailer, ride straight from your camp site. Other sites to see include Little Missouri Falls and Eagle Rock Loop hiking! New in 2025, we now have unlimited high speed wi-fi from Starlink!

Breathtaking Nature/ ATV trails

My experience here was 1000/10!! If you love everything nature I highly recommend this campsite. The owner answered every single one of my questions, & in a timely manner. There was so much to explore close by & at the campsite. A big plus for my stay was having the Wolfpen ATV trails close by. If you have ATVs i highly highly recommend staying here. & even if you don’t you can always rent them. I have a deep love for nature, specifically trees & waterfalls. Here you get the best of both worlds. The swimming hole has a decent size waterfall, it was so breathtaking! Right by camp 5 there is a path that takes you to the creek it is so beautiful. The full hookups for the RV were very convenient & a big plus in my stay. Upon arrival the owner brought firewood to our site which was amazing. It was very easy pulling in and out of the site as well. If you do stay here to experience the ATV trails I highly recommend going to little Mo falls & off the trails there’s a string of breathtaking waterfalls you can swim in (it’s down the windy hill to the right on the way to little Mo falls) If you don’t have ATVs you can also drive a car to Little Mo falls. The Big fork mall/cafe is very close to the campsite. They helped us out with directions/ navigating the ATV trails & getting to Little Mo falls.

Site 5 - Brookside RV Retreat
We loved camping on Amanda's land, in our travel trailer. The directions were very clear. We had the whole place to ourselves. It was very quiet and peaceful. Amanda was very helpful, as site 5 was saturated from the snow, we were able to switch to a drier site. I would recommend this campground and will be back!

Just beautiful. Lovely creek with swimming hole. Good wading for kids. Sites are pull through. Spacious. We had site 1. Fire ant nest around the water spigot. My foot was black with them before I noticed. Did get some bites, but could have been worse. I’m a city slicker, so they may just have been angry ants. After I learned where to step, no more problems. Such a nice place.

Peaceful Creekside Furnished Cabin
Absolute must. This cabin ,with direct creek access, is a true hidden gem. My husband, 7 year old and 2 year old had a great stay with all amenities we needed. Amanda was accommodating and was easy to work with. The cabin was clean, fresh, and cute. The property was just enough for our two-night stay. We enjoyed exploring the creek, climbing the waterfall, swimming in the water-hole, having dinner of hotdogs and snores all by the campfire, chasing fireflies, and having breakfast creek-side, and spotting a fawn swimming in the creek. It was truly the trip I didn’t know I needed. We plan on making this a yearly stop to the “cabin” along our way to family in Fayetteville every summer!

Go to the back creek and walk towards right(Make sure you have some crocs or some kind if water shoes) Would be nice if they made a stairway or easier access to get there for people who cant make that walk so easy. There is a beautiful area to swim and relax with small water fall type scene. Internet can only be reached from site 1-2 from my experience. It was good because it meant more family time. I was able to use Internet for emergency situations i had to deal with from my Home alarm going off(false alarm). We had a great time staying here. They have a fire pit for smores so no need to bring one. Make sure you visit Little Missouri Falls. Its also a place worth visiting. You can take your vehicles in but probably better with side by side cuz its a tight squeeze . Its a scary drive up and down but definitely worth it. I definitely look foward to coming back and hopefully the treed they planted are taller. Im sure they will nske more improvements to this site but definitely had a good time. They were easy to answer questions. We were allowed to use our tent for a better camp feel so us guys stayed outside in tent. Im will be recommending this place to everyone i know for sure. Next time i might stay a full week cuz time flew.

The scenery and surroundings of this campsite are beautiful! You are surrounded by forest and mountains and have access to some very cool shaded areas by the creek. The creek itself is amazing, with crystal clear water and a waterfall that I could have sat and listened to all day. The pads and camping/yard area are some of the largest we have camped at and we had no trouble leveling. The extra wide roads and pull through sites made it very easy to maneuver and set up.

It literally sucked
Brookside RV Retreat
First of all it's not a luxury resort or a retreat it's a RV camp in the middle of a field and when you dump the trash you have to get out on the highway on to Curves I almost got clipped twice. I would give it on a scale of 1 to 10 a zero there's nothing there but a mud hole. $50 a night is overpriced. $18 a night would be expensive for that place. There are no restrooms which I don't use anyway and for $50 a night there ought to be a laundry lamp post trash on site without going on the highway the pads need to be level these people have a lot to learn about an RV Retreat

Very nice place if you’re wanting to get away from city life or go crystal hunting like we did. Clear nights are great for star gazing as well. The nearby creek was awesome! Camp host is nice and always quick to reply to any questions or needs. Was able to get one bar at site 3 and 4 but wasn’t consistent with my AT&T plan, but service was available a few miles in either direction from the site. This place was so peaceful that I’ll be purchasing a cellphone booster and returning soon.
