The site was beautiful and once we got some things figured out it was great. There is a cabin that seemed to have someone living there? We never heard from the owners exactly what was going on. We waited hours wondering if someone was coming back to the cabin which was only about 50 ft from our campsite. No one came but it would have been great to have known whether we had the place to ourselves

I'm sure this campground would be great in the summer splashing in the creek, but it was also very nice and peaceful for our family's fall visit.
It was a nice mix having plenty of rugged areas down the hill to explore, and the safe and secure feeling Sparky's Garden area to come back to.
I also loved seeing the rockwork on the trails and terraces. We had a great time and hope to be back.

I absolutely loved every minute of my time on Batesville Mountain. Being able to camp somewhere close to home but that still allowed me to be totally immersed in nature is a hard find, but this spot does it. Lots of cool things to explore and enjoy!!!

Stumbled upon this awesome place last minute after deciding not to stay at a completely crowded nearby state park. Best decision to travel the extra miles to stay here! It's fun, quirky, and rustic.. everything you'd want to out in nature for a night. Made some friends with some puppers, and was nice to be submerged in the Fall colors of Arkansas. I look forward to camping here again! Also, if you're looking for the yellow arrow, it's there I promise (think outside the box)! 😆

The river campsite was in good shape for tent camping and easy to find.
The campground itself isn't marked well from the road so it was difficult to know when you were at the right place. However, we did pay the $10/night fee to have the campground to ourselves and we were not the only ones there. The other people there kept to themselves though. The first night's sleep was rough as there were many dogs barking throughout the entire night. It wasn't quite what we expected as a whole, but the campsite itself was nice.

It’s a beautiful site, but bring your own bathroom essentials and toilet just in case. While we were there, other people were also camping there near the toilets and hogged it. Tried to contact host but no response. Tried to contact via hipcamp and also a few calls and texts.
Other than that, it was truly a beautiful spot with nice trails.

What a hidden gem this was! When I saw that I could have the entire property to myself it was hard to believe. But if you are looking for a place to unplug, connect with nature and your Creator, this is a perfect spot. The water was great, the fishing was good, plenty of hiking around the property to do and the only visitor I had all weekend had 4 legs. 10/10 recommend the river spot.

They took care of us even though we did not stay at the River Camp, they took us to their other property and we had a blast there! It was so much fun! We were not too comfortable with the walk because we had our mom with us who is disabled and they made sure we would be accommodating. It was wonderful!

Incredible spot absolutely loved it but if you’re driving a normal car you WILL bottom out a lot getting to the site. After we unloaded we parked down the way at the other site that was more level ground.

This place was truly magical. I can't recommend it highly enough. I was a little confused at first on how to get there, but it ended up being just a short hike down from where we parked our car, and the campsite really has it all when it comes to beauty: the river, the trees, the rocks. I hope to return one day soon.

We loved tent camping at Sparky’s Garden. We paid extra to have the entire campground to ourselves and it was worth it! Lots or areas to hike and walk and enjoy nature.

Someone had taken our reserved campsite so we had to use the less accessible area and my vehicle got stuck. If my daughter's boyfriend hadn't been there, we would have been in real trouble. Then the people who had taken our campsite kept hiking through our campsite, which was quite rude. Also, someone (I think the other rude campers) were repeatedly shooting guns. Would not stay again.

Pretty nice camping spot. We didn’t like all the dogs parking from neighbors at night. Hiking was nice. Loved sitting near the creak and just talking with my wife. We have gone on long hikes before and we didn’t know where the property ended. Next time we ll go to their others property that has 100 acres.

Great and private getaway for myself and 4 sons. It is very much secluded and more for experienced campers. Everything was beautiful and better than expected. The creek was awesome to hangout in and for fishing.

Beware of the driveway is the only warning! It's a little on the rough side, but aside from that,the place is absolutely gorgeous. The trail goes straight down to the water and what a site it is!! The hike back up will have you huffing a bit, but totally worth it! The dog ran around as if she had never been outside in her life, she had so much fun!! We took walky talkies and the kids went exploring. Can't wait to have more fun next time!!!

Awesome property. If looking to get truly back in nature, plenty of space to roam and just spectacular beauty, this is an ideal spot. Its rustic but not primitive - Fire ring with grill, table, level spot for tent, well maintained trails. Host was super friendly and easy to work with as well. Will certainly stay again!

This is a beautiful property! We had it all to ourselves which made it very nice. It was a little hard to find as my GPS directions stopped before arrival at actual site. Just use the address and figure it out. Needs a sign.
2 sites more secluded than one. One is at the edge of the bluff. (Not good for persons with littles) Sparky’s garden site is pretty close to small cabin but no closer than most campsites in a public park. One site closest to water is a walk in site down many stairs. Difficult if you have lots of equipment but perfect for backpack campers.
Host was helpful in answering questions before trip and answering when I needed help upon arrival. There was a little confusion the day of arrival as it appears they own/manage more than one property but quickly resolved. We would return! It is not for those whose want comforts provided by public parks.
Overall our family loved a very short stay and would return if opportunity presents itself.

This place was so much fun! A lot of tlc (tender-loving-care) was put into making the trails and camping spots as magical as they are. By luck- we had the whole grounds to ourselves and were able to explore it on our own. It's a gem of a spot for the location. A beautiful forest along a river with some unique features. For us, the stonework that is the foundation for the trails made the whole experience special. Much respect was felt for the person who dedicated so much energy and attention to creating this space.
Note 1: Being in a rural neighborhood, we woke to the crow of a rooster, heard a dump truck come through (it was Tuesday morning), and later in the afternoon observed the neighbor's kids riding dirt bikes. It was quiet a good bulk of the time, but as previously stated, it is in a rural neighborhood, so it's possible you'll hear a little of people living their lives (and definitely a few cock-a-doodle-doos). It didn't bother us, but depending on what you're looking for, you might want to keep that in mind.
Note 2: As of 3/28/23, the structures here are definitely in the works. I wouldn't recommend the cabin at this time. We didn't see the inside of it, but the outside has some rough spots.
The property itself has a lot of potential though and I'm excited to see how this place develops over time! I would come again, and it would be a great space for some quality time amongst people. I hope to bring the rest of my family here some time.

The land is beautiful and the stairway that was impressively cut leading down to the Cadron River was a wonder. The camping areas are nice locations but tough to set up even a small tent if it isn’t freestanding and complete with a thick mat to cover roots or rocks. The garden spot is where I chose to stay and was large enough for multiple tents with a nice smooth ground. The downside is that it is close to the road and neighbors that played outdoor music loud, late into the night. The traffic and the music destroyed the tranquil setting and the remoteness of the location. I do appreciate what this site could be and the heart behind the project. I have enjoyed the owners other camping area and will be a return customer.
