Ranch View Hillside

1 site · RV, Tent17 acres · Fairview, WY
Come spend a relaxing time at the base of one of the mountain foothills in stunning Star Valley, WY with a view over a rippling creek below, ranches spread across the valley floor, and watch the sunrise over the mountains on the other side! As the only camper on our 17 acres surrounded by several larger ranches, you will be overlooking part of the old Oregon Trail in the valley below. Above and around you are a rocky hillside covered with wild berry bushes, many songbirds, and larger wildlife like deer, snowshoe hares, elk, foxes, and coyotes. A moose or bear might even wander by. The hillside rises steeply behind you, turning into more mountains as it climbs out of sight. It is generally a quiet rural area about 6 miles from a town with gas, groceries, coffee shops, restaurants, laundromat, camper showers, and other amenities available. There are many trailheads for hiking nearby as well as fishing access to the main river at multiple points across the valley. The Star Valley and Oregon Trail history museums in town provide a fascinating look into the history of this valley. And the largest intermittent spring in the world is a beautiful short hike from a nearby trailhead. In the summer you'll probably hear Red Winged Blackbirds singing in the willows along the creek below and spot brilliant Western Tanagers flitting among the bushes. Bring your binoculars and some patience and you will likely spot a huge variety of other birds as well! This hillside is tucked in the middle of many working ranches so you might see cowboys ride by on horseback, a herd of cows being moved from one pasture to another, or 4 wheelers moving around depending on the time of year. This is a boon-docking site with no water, power, or toilet available. Just lots of nature and views! Plan for pack it in/pack it out and help us keep this spot of nature a place where many people can enjoy the peace of time in the mountains. The parking spot its self is a flat graveled pad suitable for rigs up to a 26 feet in length or tent camping. A small sitting area with a pair of chairs is provided for you to enjoy your morning coffee while watching the sunrise if you like. There is a gravel lane that comes up the hill from the paved county road below, and then the campsite sits off to the side of that tucked into a corner of the steep hillside. Family lives in a cabin further up the hillside, but out of both sight and earshot from the campsite. Sadly no campfires due to the danger of a wildfire. Camp stoves are just fine. We love our pets, and yours are welcome! But please keep them on a leash due to the high volume of wildlife in the area, some of which can easily kill a dog. Verizon phones usually have service in this particular spot, other carriers tend to be hit and miss. Plan to check in sometime after 3:00 p.m. on the day of your arrival and check out before 11:00 a.m. so we have a little bit of time in between guests to do any mowing or other maintenance to the site area.

Ross Meadow RV

1 site · RV4 acres · Victor, ID
The Shoshone and Nez Perce Native American tribes spent their summers in this area hunting and fishing the many streams in this valley.   Trapper's used the area until the U.S. market collapse of the beaver skin top-hat in the late 1830's.  Mormon pioneers began settling here in the 1890's.  My great-grandparents settled in Teton Valley after moving from Nebraska in 1917.  They farmed this land; growing potatoes, barley and hay.  Today we raise alfalfa/grass hay that we feed to our horses.  In the bottom of our field south of the campsite is Trail Creek, which is the headwaters of the Teton River.  It flows out of the southern Teton mountain range in Wyoming and into Idaho.  This water eventually joins the mighty Snake River near Rexburg, Idaho as it continues it's journey to the pacific ocean.  Summer's here are usually warm sunny days with cool, chilly nights.  Our location sits at an elevation of 6,300' above sea level.Learn more about this land:Located 1 mile from Victor, Idaho along the Old Jackson Highway. Nice view of the southern Teton Range. Situated on the edge of a hayfield. Close proximity to many outdoor activities.

SE Victor RV-only Camp-Beautiful

1 site · RV1 acre · Victor, ID
This land has been owned by my family since about 1935. My grandfather was from a local-area homesteading family, and was a hard-working farmer and cafe owner here in Victor. We are glad to own a piece of his original farm. We raise hay, have horses and chickens and other livestock on the place, and love to plant trees and wildflowers on the lovely land that is ours. We believe in hard work, peace and quiet, and the enjoyment of nature. We hope you'll love your time camping here on our land. Learn more about this land: Our  RV or enclosed Camper site, located in the coveted area southeast of Victor, Idaho, is the hub of everything for southern Teton Valley and is just a few miles from the western Wyoming boundary, Jackson Hole, WY and the Tetons.  It has open space views on a few sides, and a subdivision (Mountainside Village) going in across the street. Victor has become a gathering place for people who want to experience Jackson and Jackson Hole, Wyoming, and the beauty of Teton Valley. We rent to a lot of mountain bikers, hikers, fishermen, and people seeking to enjoy the culture of the Tetons. We do not cater to loud outside partiers. : ) Taylor Mountain, in the Grand Teton Range, is the biggest mountain you'll see directly from here, and the foothills of the Grand Tetons start across the roadway.   There are tons of mountain biking, fishing areas, and hiking trails out our door, starting with the shared use pathway system in front of the campsite.   Close by, there are multiple canyons, streams, rivers, reservoirs, lakes and forests to explore. Or, if you head towards Victor, there are food trucks, breweries, night life, grocery stores, gas stations, a pharmacy and medical clinic, and a big playground and park. Most people want to visit Jackson Hole, Grand Teton National Park and Yellowstone while they are here....but you won't want to leave this bit of paradise that we offer you.   You must bring your OWN camper or RV.  WE are only providing the SPACE for ONE RV or Camper driven in by you....  Please--NO TENTS.  Your cooking and bathroom facilities must be enclosed within a hard-sided unit.  No loose outside pets as we have livestock which must be protected.   Book ahead, and save yourself the hassle of finding a spot on the spur of the moment.  We have no hookups.  It's a lovely parking spot.   For a second RV spot, a back-in only RV site which is adjacent to ours, and just a few hundred feet away,  is available.    For two spots, book Ross Meadow RV as well.    ONE RV and one extra vehicle allowed per site.   Pets must be approved prior to you visiting and must be leashed when outside on our property.

Victor ID/Gateway to the Tetons

1 site · RV1 acre · Victor, ID
We've had this land in our family for almost a hundred years. You will be close to Victor (1.5 miles), Jackson Hole (20 miles) Jackson (22) miles, GTNP about 40 miles by road (as the crow flies, it's only about 5!). Learn more about this land: Campers who seek an easy location  in Victor, Idaho, or on the way to Jackson Hole, GTNP, or YNP will love this pull in-style campsite with beautiful views, and a green field surrounding them. The spot itself is about 100 X 100.  There are no available services, but the nearby Stinker station does have a dump station for RV use. We have only one campsite here in the immediate area around your spot in our simple hayfield, and hope you'll love the space around you.   My great grandfather and great grandmother moved here and settled in this once-wild land from Nebraska in 1907. He was a judge, a store owner, a pool hall owner, and they loved their children. They were the parents who created a pond so their kids would be able to make friends easily, the parents who taught their kids how to think, and they valued education. Today, several in our family teach today, in schools and colleges. We have kept this land a working farm during a time when many people have sold for developments, because this land is our life, and we love it. Find your peace and stay in a spot without having to fight off other campers!   We love the Tetons, and this land has been in our family for generations.  We are proud of our land, and made the choice to keep it a hay field, when many people sought to buy it to develop.   Our family trust will keep this land open and serene, hopefully for even more generations of our family and a few guests to enjoy.  Jenny Lake Campground has just been voted the most sought after campground in the USA, and we are an hour from there.   Janine worked guiding trail rides for travelers wanting to experience the West and the stunning beauty of the Tetons for years on and around Jenny Lake.   It was the best college-student work experience ever!  Today, we still love the interaction with happy vacationers and people who want to experience this beautiful area of our country!   The field extends all around you, but it is held in trust, and the area outside your staked off spot can't, unfortunately, be utilized by campers.  We don't allow any pets, due to our livestock and wildlife around us.  This summer, we've had a doe and twin fawns wandering around almost every day.  We've had every single type of large wildlife the Tetons offer here at one point or another.    The chokecherry trees you'll camp by have delicious fruit you can choose to eat in season(at your own descretion, and while they are in season-some in our family are allergic, but we've made chokecherry jam and jelly from the fruit from these trees for years). Please stay in your designated camping area, detailed by the stakes.
