Welcome to Ruby’s Retreat! This camper is named after my grandmother, Ruby — a woman who dreamed of exotic horizons but never got the chance to see them. After spending more than 230 nights in this cozy space over the past three years, I wanted to honor her legacy. I’m opening the door for you to a world of adventure without going too far. When you stay here, you aren’t just renting a camper — you’re helping a dream finally take flight, one sunrise and sunset at a time.

The Minimalism Experiment

In a world of “too much,” Ruby’s Retreat is an invitation to have “just enough.” We’ve stripped away the clutter to focus on what matters. Inside, you’ll find the essentials: a cozy bed, a small coffee station, and a “Self-Introspection Basket” filled with adult coloring books, cards, and dominoes to help you unplug.

The Setting: Real, Raw, & Rural

Let’s be 100% honest: this is not a high-end luxury resort. We’re located in a rustic, authentic Texas RV park in the suburbs of Houston. The roads are gravel, the neighboring bathhouse is vintage, and the landscape is a simple wooded field near the banks of the Brazos River.

But what we lack in “polish,” we make up for in peace. You’ll have:

Private outdoor space, complete with a boho mandala rug, comfortable chairs, and string lights for evening magic.

Water access — just a short walk to a private pond and the Brazos River, perfect for fishing or a quiet morning or evening stroll.

Creature comforts, including a Keurig for your morning brew, a small heater/AC for Texas weather, and a space designed with a whole lot of heart.

While situated in the suburbs, restaurants, convenience stores, and grocery stores are just minutes away.

cabin on pond with fishing there and on big creek.  80 acres to roam around on with lots of wildlife and birding.  Property is next door to Brazos Bend Texas State park.  You can stargaze, fish, hike, and more.  The cabin is 2 bedrooms.  Has a very large deck and a large covered patio.  Sawmill road has very few cars and makes a great bike route being 10 miles long

Located West of Jamaica Beach. 15-minute drive to Galveston, Moody Gardens, Convention centers, and 20 minutes to the Pleasure Pier. Walk to the sandy beach from our 3rd row townhome located @ Karankawa Beach. Approved pets stay free under 30 pounds. Dogs only, 2 max, 3 bedroom/ 3 Bath. Covered/ free/ parking/ 3 mid-sized vehicles under the townhouse. EV charger outlet provided. Master bedroom with primary bath with tub/ shower. Patio access from the Master and 2nd Bedroom- Queen bed and access to the balcony.

3rd bedroom features a trundle bed (2 single beds).

The entire townhouse is available for guest use, minus two locked owner's closets. The house also has a NEMA 14-50 outlet near parking spots for electric car charging. Our property offers covered/ designated parking for up to 2 cars under the townhouse. 2 additional cars can be parked in the driveway. No full-sized vehicles are on the property. No parking fees.  We do allow up to 6 adults and 4 children with approval. We do have 2 pack and plays for the 2 children.

We are pet-friendly, with pet approval requirements. We ask you to disclose your pet's breed, age, and size before instant bookings. No dogs over 25 pounds, please. Pets are free if approved. Unapproved pets will result in a $500 fee.

You will have 2 Acres of cleared out land with a few trees. 40 minutes from beaches also Brazos Bend state park down the road. No running water but we do have electrical outlets near the barn. Feel free to BBQ on our pit or light a fire in the firepit for a relaxing evening under the stars. A palapa to sit and relax or where you set up a tent under. Close to Beltway 8 for easy access to Downtown Houston.
