Grandview Camp @ Lemon Lane Farm

Lemon Lane Farm, a 116 acre farm on the Cumberland Plateau, will take you to another place.  Come relax, wonder our trails (1.5-5 mile options), detox in our sauna, meet and play with our animals, fish in our pond, visit our general store, visit nearby waterfalls (3 of them within  5-20 min drive).  Stay at the farm and never leave or explore the amazing surrounding areas.  Each site at Grandview Camp is unique and has its own private space, visit with the owners of the farm and other campers or be completely private and stay to yourself, the choice is yours.

Fridge works when you use the generator but if you want to go electricity free to save money we also have an old Coleman cooler you can use!

Camp Mountain Lake Retreats 

This Camp originally was a girls and boys camp. Started by Colonel Reynolds in 1947 every summer it was opened for campers from all over the United States. Coach Moore, of Sewanee, the University of the South, took over in the early 1980s. My husband Charles Kildgore, was a counselor in training in 1974. Glamping at Deer Camp Cabin

We build from the heart with blue prints and Deer Camp was a thought that started on the back of a receipt and grew into a 12x12 cozy cabin. We have 13 acres and we share with that Deer Camp. Only enough land has been cleared for structures so it's all wooded and every structure was built by us and is unique and one of a kind. 

Outdoor movie theater available for use March through December. Complete with hammock chairs, cozy blankets, propane fire ring, and all the movies you love on the big screen.

With a comfy bed and windows that open all around it's the perfect place to relax.

On the deck of the cabin you'll find a kitchen with everything you could need to fix a meal.

The bathroom is amazing and has a wonderful view of the woods.

The Falls at Sewanee Creek

45 private acres on our homestead for you to roam.  Seven eclectic sites to choose from ranging from primitive camping to a lovely log cabin.  All except the log cabin lovingly built by the owner, loaded with creative touches.

We came to this magical place to found a self-reliant, homesteading eco-community when I retired from corporate life in 2006. It's called the Village on Sewanee Creek, named for the creek 800 feet below the bluff where we are located.

I traveled the world as a senior executive for Baskin-Robbins, Dunkin' Donuts, Papa Johns, Blockbuster, 7-Eleven and other retail franchises, making the world safe for Pizza, Ice Cream, Pancakes Video Rentals and American convenience. And I was ready for something more fufilling. I scouted for a place of exquisite natural beauty and I found it here. I bought way too much land just before the real estate bust and learned how to turn a nice fortune into a very small one. 

I faced challenges and had lots of fun. Now I want to share our experience. It's
the Village 2.0 for guests. Or not. Life in the city is OK as long as you can get away frequently.

I'm convinced if you love nature and the outdoors, this is the best place to celebrate it.

Friends and I moved to this place in 2017 from Southern California. We got tired of the rat race, the crowded freeways and the wildfires. We wanted a bigger, natural space, a more free way of life and we were in desperate need of water!!

 Our vision is to turn this few acres into a community, a place where our friends can come to retreat, relax, eat, get healthy, have fun and feel welcomed.

Looking to make new friends to have fun and get a few acres of land ready for gardening and living spaces!

A small fruit orchard was planted with medicinal plants and herbs and is constantly added to every growing season.

We provide fresh eggs and herbs for breakfast (seasonal) and firewood for your campfire!

We love this property because there are so many animals and plants that are found no where else in the world but here on the Cumberland Plateau.

This gorgeous space is backed up against tens of thousands of acres of forest and the South Cumberland State Park is practically in our backyard..

And it’s wild out here! There are bears, mountain lions, deer, fox, owls and turkey that live here, and there are NO FENCES! Camp at your own risk!

Foster Falls State Park is 3mi south and accessible on highway 41 or by hiking south from the property.

Lots of outdoor activities such as climbing, hiking, biking, boating, paddle boarding, whitewater rafting, skydiving, hang gliding, and motorcycle riding are all in the area. Chattanooga is 30 minutes away, Nashville is 1.5 hours. 

This area is rich in history! Union troops marched toward Confederate troops nearby during the Civil War.

We offer firewood at your campsite, composting toilets, hot showers and WiFi. Digital Nomads Welcome!

Wild Animal Sanctuary, mountain lions, bears, deer, turtles, fox, owls and wild turkey all live here.

The Land at FlatTop Mountain

Off the grid, out of the way, rustic 10 acres where you can pitch a tent, take a hike and enjoy a campfire.  Mostly wooded with nearby sites to explore, a few swings for fun (swings have recently been removed due to trees falling) and a fantastically cold seasonal mountain creek for cooling off.  

Always improving our place, we recently removed the 'cabins', which were unsuitable for use. 

The property is part of a community, which you may notice on the way to the campsite.  Site 1 (The Swings) will be first left after you turn into the driveway.  It is a U shaped drive, at the bottom of the U, park and walk 15 feet to site.  Site 2  (Main Container) is at the end of main driveway, next to container.  Drive to end of driveway, park and walk 10 feet to camp.  Both are equidistant to the outhouse.  Please look through all of the listing information.  The road into The Land is gravel and some bedrock; high ground clearance vehicles are best but all vehicles can make the journey.  Tough to navigate in the dark. We bought The Land from a couple who had previously been homesteading for several years. The buildings (*all buildings have recently been removed) on the land were built with lumber cut from the property. Previous owners farmed rabbits and had a system in place for water. The SEASONAL creek at the bottom of the slope is wonderful and there is a spot for two adults to sit down into the crisp water and plenty of room for lots of feet. If you follow the path in the middle of the property, a 30 minute walk (therefore not on our property) will take you to a beautiful swimming hole. It's cold! There is no power or running water at the property so it's an ideal place to get away from daily life and truly relax. We hope you will enjoy it as much as our family does!

Please read everything on this listing.  Please note that even though some pictures show buildings, there are no longer cabins/shelter on The Land.  We are unable to remove pictures Hipcampers post.  It is raw 10 acres so, yes there are ticks.  Cover up and spray as you see fit, just be aware.  Also, since it is 10 acres of trees, there is plenty of firewood.  We don't leave any bundles, just find down limbs and presto, firewood.
