We bought this Airstream in 2022 as an old shell. It was junky and a mess, and not much in it other than old scraps and junk. We renovated it in 2022 and 2023, and turned it into a cozy, midcentury modern style Glamper. We tried to plan for every comfort you could want or need, from wifi and a smart TV, to a cute bathroom, Keurig and an Air Fryer. We hope you love it as much as we do. Please note, it is tight quarters, especially for more than two people and large framed people. For this reason, we only allow two guests. We live on a busy street, but the backyard is peaceful and serene. The airstream is parked next to our creek, where waterfowl abound. Only one vehicle allowed.

Hi, I'm Curt. My wife Ani, son Fitch, and I are your average, everyday nonconformists who have been running an experiment. We are trying to figure out if a family can use their own hands and some grit to handcraft a life that you don't need a vacation from. Or better yet, that you would vacation to. Have we done that? Years ago we left our Miami handcrafted furniture business to pursue this new goal. We set out to build an inspiring experience in simple, eco-friendly living that would find a harmony between the helpful aspects of the modern world and the good parts of the old, that maybe society should have held tight to. We wanted to play with this idea...while keeping it classy ;-)
At Heirloom Hamlet, you will see us designing unique, functional cottages, using solar energy, composting organics, sewing and reaping, in a way that is fair to our environment. We're bread baking, pasta making, timber milling, woodworking, clay-forming and metal pounding. The goal is to evolve into a small world of self-reliance and harmony with nature.
Through good design, our goal is to show just how "normal" slow, simple living can feel. We all have personal priorities, and those will vary greatly. But within that, we can all include ways of being respectfully mindful to the earth and to our neighbors.
Visiting with us, we sure hope our guests don't expect to find a corporate approach to life here, that they can appreciate our perspectives and some of our old-fashioned ways. Our presentation at Heirloom Hamlet has been purposefully designed to be a refreshing hideaway from the norm. You can imagine, it has been a ton of work, sacrifice and expense to create a very special camp atmosphere. Any donation to show appreciation for its use, if even for a single night, is a valuable support to our efforts.

Located 30 minutes from downtown Charleston, near Kiawah and Johns Island, Bee Haven is 3 Wadmalaw acres. An adorable tiny camper sleeps one person (no pets) with parking right there.
A shoeless interior, step inside and awe at the cuteness featuring shiplap, ac/giant tv and pullout chair/bed. As this is a work in progress, the toilet is an approved contracted porta potty and an outdoor shower. Running water is available in the sink inside the camper.
The owner lives on site, along with 4 goats, chickens, ducks, and lots of bees. We are quiet, mindful, and nature-oriented, and appreciate the same.
Wadmalaw is home to American Classic Tea Gardens, Deepwater Vinyards, Cherry Point with summer fresh shrimp off the boat, Kiawah and Seabrook 12 miles away and downtown Charleston 20-40 minutes.

Cameron's Soul Food Cafe tiny camper was a great experience! It was a perfect spot to stop for the night to rest and relax. We loved that we were able to find a place that allowed our dog as she travels everywhere with us. It was a welcoming experience with the kitty committee that came to greet us and the camper was relaxing and well put together. We would definitely recommend staying here and we would definitely stay there again in the future! Thank you Cameron for a great experience.

Weekend Trip to Black Pearl Farms
we booked sooo late, we ended up booking at 12am and getting there at 2am. they had no time to set anything up and it was still beautiful! in the morning we spoke to the host and he helped us with everything we needed even though it was totally our fault! him and his wife are wonderful and we will be back soon! so sorry again for booking so late, but the place was so cute and it was lovely to stay there!

Weekend Trip to Black Pearl Farms
I Loved this farm! Beautiful surroundings, a country store, and the outdoor showers were the cherry on top. Woody Stream felt like we were camping in the mountains on the west coast as it was surrounded by beautiful pines and playful bunnies. The Yurt had a heavenly bed and a wonderful pour over coffee caraffe. The hosts were also very helpful with directions and monitoring our comfortableness. HIGHLY recommend this place!

Weekend Trip to Heirloom Hamlet
We spent this past weekend at Heirloom Hamlet celebrating my wife birthday, and it ended up being one of those stays you don’t forget.
Curt and Ani have created something truly special here. The cottage is entirely custom-built, and you can feel the time, care, and intention that went into every detail. It’s not just a place to stay, it reflects a year of hands-on work and passion, and it shows in the craftsmanship and overall feel.
One of the most thoughtful touches was walking into the cottage and finding a birthday cake waiting for my wife. We didn’t expect it at all, and it says a lot about the kind of hosts they are.
The property itself feels like a quiet little bird sanctuary. Free-range chickens wandering around, constant songbirds in the background, it honestly felt like a bird haven tucked into the coastal pines and oaks. There’s also a massive 200+ year old live oak right in the center of the property that really stands out. It has a presence to it and ended up being one of our favorite parts of the whole place.
The design of the cottage strikes a great balance, custom and modern, but still warm and grounded in the setting. Nothing feels generic.
If you’re looking for something unique, peaceful, and built with real intention behind it, this place delivers. We’ll definitely be back!

This was our first stay in a full RV and it was great! Nice to have a full bathroom and kitchen, and Ron included everything we would need, including paper products and soap! He’s a friendly and respectful host and even tolerated our dog’s stranger danger.
The property feels hidden away and is no more than five minutes from anything you might need during your visit. The state parks pass was a great bonus!
This was our seventh visit to Edisto and I hope to use this spot as our home base during future trips! Thank you for a great place to stay!

Stay at Ron's camper for the 3rd time and will stay again next month. This is a sweet, private spot on the island clise to everything. Kid's rode their bikes to the state park and education center. I feel safe here. If you're not used to camper living it may not be for you. We used to pull a camper to the state park campground and loved it. Now I get to show up and Ron has the place all set up for us. We love it.
