Our guests have access to the fields and woods. Take a splash in our creek, pick black raspberries all around the property, hike. 

We kindly ask not to use main house facilities. There is a visible difference between the main house area and cabin area.

Moonhollow

This twelve acres is located in the North of Saugerties just 15 minutes to Saugerties Village. 15 min to Woodstock and a two mile drive to Palenville NY. We are located just minutes from Katterskill falls. Here at Moonhollow you will find spacious green spaces to walk and explore with two ponds and three streams , wildlife like deer, turkeys, fox are often seen on property It’s a quiet spot with beautiful Mountain View’s right in the back . Also this is a great  area for stargazing on a clear night.Choose your stay at Black-bear cabin , Treehouse or Moonhollow cottage . Mountain trails , streams waterfalls and wildlife are a big part of why people want to escape to this natural beauty.Have a crackling fire, star gaze , listen to the Owls hooting at night. A great getaway!

Our slice of paradise consists of 225 acres of forested land nestled in the foothills of the Catskills near Albany. We are a homestead and small campground devoted to the principles of organic farming and self-reliance. Modern agriculture and big business are unsustainable, destroying farmland at an accelerating pace. It is important for us to teach the next generation, there is an alternative. We produce much of our own food. We have friendly goats, chickens, ducks, peacocks, donkeys and horses the guests can pet and feed. There are no swimming holes on our property, but many waterfalls and swimming spots within a short drive (see list below). A quick 5 minute drive will get you to one of the best disc golf courses in the north east. For the truly adventurous, Clarksville Cave is a short drive away. Visit their website for list of proper gear and rules. We do rent some of the equipment needed.

Our focus and purpose on this land is to provide stewardship and sanctuary for the Natural world to maintain it’s own balance with minimal interference from humans.

To remain wild and free.

We are a plant, wildlife and butterfly sanctuary.

We rent the lodgings (Chalet, Cabin & Glampsite)
to support and fund the maintenance and expansion of native and pollinating species of plants, expanding the area that we steward, providing habitat and refuge for animals, insects, birds and more.

We wish to share our sacred land with people that love and respect the Earth, who wish to contribute to a conservation project through their own presence and mindfulness.

Once a RV camping park called "Thunder Hill Campground" in the late 1960's early 1970's, the land sat mostly unused for 15 years before Rachel came to steward it 20 years ago.

We are 107 acres of forest, a 9
acre lake, ponds, creeks, labyrinth, a Holistic Retreat Center & Organic Permaculture Farm at a
2000 foot elevation in the Heldeberg Mountains.

500 million years ago during the Devonian Period this was a sea, so we live in shale based mountains with lots of fossils! The Heldebergs are one of the oldest mountain ranges on earth, these mountains have been worn down to 2000 feet over time.

Native Americans lived in the area many years ago and we are quite sure this was Native American sacred ceremony land.

Hiking, canoeing, swimming and fishing (catch & release only) are available on site.
 There are many places to hike in the area, an Eagle Trail
and in winter, 2 miles away, is a Nature Preserve that rents snowshoes and has
trails for snowshoeing and cross country skiing,

Very rural and private, even though we are only 25 miles SW of Albany, NY the capital of NYS, here it is quiet and peaceful.

We do have 3 very friendly dogs that will want to be your best friends. Also farm animals that you can meet.

There will be farm noises, roosters greeting the morning and various grunts and snorts... far less noise than any modern city.

Albany, along with the surrounding areas, have many events etc going on. There's hiking, biking, nature parks, horse racing, concerts, festivals and events and so much more. Links and information can be provided to campers that stay with us that are looking for entertainment & excursions.

We are near Albany, Berne, Catskill, Cairo, Cobleskill, East Durham, Greenville, Hunter, Knox, Medusa, Oak Hill, Middleburgh, Schoharie, Westerlo, Windham.

Honey Hollow Farmstay

We left Brooklyn in 2010 in search of a more farmy life. We found it in Greene County, 2.5 hours north of NYC, on the west bank of the Hudson River. We run a small farm and do our best to live off what we can grow or produce.  Our farmhouse and barn complex have been around since the 1700's, and gone through many different incarnations. Currently we live in the farmhouse, rent out the renovated barn apartment, and use the huge dairy barn for storage. Learn more about this land:Come back to the farm... Search for eggs in hay-filled boxes. Pick raspberries for breakfast pancakes. Feed peppermints to the ponies. Take riding lesson on our sweet Shetland pony.Hold the milk bottle for eager baby lambs. Pick salad for dinner. We are offering “farm camp”, mornings from 9 -11 am. Help with animal care, gardening and do farm crafts and cooking. Grill local foods in a private yard with a view of ponies, sheep, and pastures. Just 2.5 hours north of NYC

Glamping at the Stargazer

Enjoy natural camping 1600 ft above sea level in the Catskill Mountains 2.5 hours from NYC in our fabulous Stargazer!

The Stargazer is one of 3 campsites on our property.  Its a 10 foot x 14 foot structure with back elevated deck.  Dozens of windows make it feel like you're camping outside, but you're protected from rain, wind and any uninvited animals.

Enjoy basic speed unlimited wi-fi and the vented propane wall heater.

For the true glamping experience use the luxury queen sized memory foam mattress.  We DO provide pillows, pillow cases and mattress fitted sheet but recommend you to bring sleeping bags or warm blankets (and your own towles)

Located in a large grass field  met with a wall of great maples that surround you.   During clear evenings gaze upon the astonishing display of night stars and Milky Way.  

We are located on an isolated dirt road and surrounded by 1000's of acres of farm land and state parks.   It is a 30 minute car drive to Windham Ski resort. Kaaterskill Falls is 55 minutes and Howe Caverns just over an hour.

Many State parks are within a 45 minute drive.

During your walks along the dirt road you'll see majestic red barns and ponds along the way, also great for mountain biking.  Also meet interesting animals along the road that belong to Heather Ridge Farm.

Camp fires are NOT permitted, but we provide a Weber propane grill for all your barbeque cooking needs.

The Campsite Summary:

- Real queen sized mattress. (no bedding, bring your own blankets, sleeping bag.  We do provide pillows and fitted sheet for the mattress. 

- Solar powered camp light with ability to charge cell phones.

-  Indoor dinning table and 2 chairs.

- Outdoor Picnic table and 2 chairs.

- Sink with 2.5 gallons of water in container for washing up, brush teeth.

- Shared port-a-potty.

- Cast iron wood burning stove (fire wood provided free of charge)

- Access to propane BBQ grill.

- Complimentary 2 gallons of drinking water.

- Full cooking utensils, silverware, paper plates, napkins, basic spices 

Note: Campfires are NOT ALLOWED to be made by guests at any time. At this elevation in the mountains the wind can get quite strong. This is why we provide a propane gas or electric grill for your cooking needs.

FAQ

1. Is there electricity?  No.

2. Is there hot water?  No, just a thermos we pre-fill with boiled water so you can make instant coffee and tea.

3. Do we have privacy? Yes, no one can see into your accommodation and other campsites are more than 100 feet from yours.

4. Do we need to bring our own water? No, you need not as we provide you with 2 gallons of fresh drinking water.

5. Do we need to bring our own blankets?  Yes, you should bring sleeping bags or warm blankets and bath towels.  We do provide pillows and a fitted sheet for the mattress.

6. Is there a bathroom? Yes, there is a shared port-a-potty.

7. Is there Wi-fi?  Yes.

8. Are pets allowed?  No.

9. Are kids allowed?  No. All persons must be 21 years or older.

10. Do you provide a BBQ grill? Yes, we offer a Weber propane grill.  You don't need to bring charcoal or anything (the propane tank is included).

11. Do you provide plates, utensils, napkins, coffee mugs? Yes

12. Do you provide coffee and tea? Yes we provide instant versions of both.

Tipi Glamping Catskills

Reconnect with nature at Bellfire. This glamping getaway is located in one of the best places for stargazing in NY. Wool blankets, wood stove, and miles to roam in a sparsely populated, picturesque area for a perfect private getaway.  We chose the location of the Tipi with privacy and tranquility in mind nestled between a creek, maple trees, and wildflower field. The tipi is located 500 ft from the parking lot.
