You’ll love the views, the stunning New Mexico sky, stargazing at night and the coziness of the yurt. Our place is good for couples, two friends or solo adventurers. Short walking trails on our property of 32 acres and horses to love on!  We lived in the yurt for two years, so it is fully equipped as a home. If staying in a yurt is on your bucket list, you've come to the right spot. it has everything you need.  Easy access from the I-40.

Enjoying the almost spring like weather! The deck is also the perfect spot to sit and watch the sunrise, if you want to get up that early! But I highly recommend it:)

Beautiful kitchen table built by the owner. It was perfect for prep space, eating dinner, and working on our computers. 

Fully stocked kitchen! It seriously had EVERYTHING we would ever need in a kitchen. Including coffee, food and condiments in the fridge, and all the pots and pans you would ever need.

Playing games outside on the deck! Amazing views of the land and surrounding area.

Santa Fe Treehouse Camp

This  is a non-smoking, no candle facility. 

The camp was founded 40 years ago as a summer camp for kids. Now we welcome adults, and other groups to enjoy the vast and wild high desert nature up on this ridge. 

There are beautiful views and access to Shaggy Peak, the southernmost tip of the Rocky Mountains and the Sangre de Cristo Mountain Range. Wander our land to enjoy various level hiking trails including a 20 minute hike to a creek and waterfall in the forest (some steep spots and creek is intermittent) or climb up Shaggy Peak (seasoned hikers only please).

NOTE:

We are up 1.3 miles of dirt road and are not near public transportation so you will need your own vehicle! Be aware that the roads can be snowy, icy or muddy and rutted ( 4-wheel or All-trak recommended in certain times of year). We don’t guarantee the road will be plowed.

Agua de Vida

This charming land has been in the family since my husband was a young boy. The Indian ruins and artifacts fascinated him then and he is still happy to share this history with whoever shows an interest. With all the improvements made by his father and family through the years, you will also learn to have a love for the history and beauty here on this unique 30-acre treasure. You can explore Native American ruins that were inhabited by some 2,000 people between 700-1100 AD. The grounds are wonderful to walk with a little lake which draws elk, deer, hawks, blue herons, etc.
Easy to access just 3 minutes off I-25. We are 5 minutes away from the Pecos Natl Monument and 15 minutes away from the Pecos River with plenty of great fishing spots…Visit Santa Fe (20-minute drive) or Las Vegas (30-minute drive) with dozens of restaurants, museums, art galleries, etc.

Cuervo Mountain RV Park

My family has owned this land for over 400 years. We raised sheep, and now we raise cattle. Cuervo Mountain belongs to my family, hence the name of the park.Learn more about this land:At Cuervo Mountain RV and Horse Hotel we offer 54 pull-thru sites large enough for any size RV (including RV extensions). Just 3 short minutes North of Exit 196 on Interstate I-40! There is water, power (30 and 50 AMP service), sewer hook-ups, picnic tables at every site, vending (coming soon), WiFi, solid waste dump, bar-b-q grills, dry camping, playground and covered picnic areas, dog park, 4 horse stalls (2 horses can fit in one stall) and 4 tack rooms, club house (coming soon), propane vending (coming soon), walking/biking path (coming soon), and very clean bath and shower facilities. There is a flat screen TV with dish network. Working on getting WiFi, it’s still in the works. We do not furnish firewood. However, across the foot bridge there are several down trees and branches there you are welcome to get. No cutting live trees. 

RLB Historical Stone Cabin

The RLB stands for the last names of the given Ancestors (Rivera/Lawson/Bennett). This property & structures date back to President Grover Cleveland’s time. I found documents that he had signed for my grandfather. The main cabin was drilled to see how old it was. It was built somewhere around 1867 or 1868. The smaller cabins were built before the main cabin. The main cabin is one of the five Ladies of the Pecos River. There were only five cabins first built and settled in the territory that the logs were called dove and groove. The Stone cabin was built first and no record of the year other than it was before the main cabin. The cabin by the river was used as the kitchen until the main house was built. Then the River Cabin became the shed to store saddles and bridles, ropes & etc. My father moved the door from the side that is now a window to the front by the river and made it into a one room cabin. The front which is the kitchen now was added in the mid 80’s. 

This is the bedroom and kitchen combine. My father, found a corner still standing & he rebuilt the walls back. 

This was the first structure that my great grandfather built for his family in the mid 1800’s. They had 14 kids.  Later it became the cellar which kept their food. It was built in the mountain. The front structure was added in the early 80’s for an extra room.

This is the kitchen. It has running water, however, It does not have hot water. There is an electric skillet, pots & pans, electric water pot to heat water, microwave and full refrigerator. Fully furnished with dish cloths, pot holders, bath towels & linen.

There is a double bed, chester drawers, nightstand/end table, & a chamber pot that the liners can be disposed in the historical double seater powder room on the hill.

It’s beautiful in September/October. However, we close the cabin down around October 15th. For those  months the dates are taken fast. 

This is a view of the Pecos River. When the waters are high, it is nothing to be played with. As Spring & Summer progresses the water lowers & is not quite so swift. This is looking North up river towards Cowles & Jack’s Creek.

Our private pond, the mallard ducks come every year and have their ducklings there. The deer have had their fawns across the foot bridge by the other small pond. U have access across the River, by a foot bridge. 

There is an futon & rollaway bed for extra guests. Fresh linen is kept in the chester drawers and comforters are under the small table in the living room.
