Peaceful Mountain View RV Site

2 sites · RVs2 acres · Edgewood, NM
Sweet Melody Farm combines our love of music, horses and beautiful spacious landscape of New Mexico. We traveled from Oregon to Pennsylvania and then to New Mexico traveling with our horses and cats. Along the way we stayed at many horse hotels, and wanted to offer weary travelers a place to stop over with their ponies and even without horses. We have 2 Airbnb listings for those needing or wanting to stay with more comfort and space. See our Airbnb links below! Learn more about this land:Sweet Melody Farm has a spectacular view of South Mountain and the stars. Rural residential RV park with full hookups, picnic table and horse shelter. The horse hotel is great for those folks traveling east/west on I-40 that need a safe and secure site to camp in their LQ trailer and rest their horses. The shelter is matted and paddock fenced for safety with 2" x 4" woven wire 4 ft high.100 ft by 100 ft outdoor arena too!We are suited for those that are looking for a base camp to explore the local national forests and eclectic destinations along the Turquoise Trail, Hwy 14. Santa Fe and Albuquerque are easy day trips from here. The map on this site is very old and does not reflect the many improvements and landscaping we have completed since this Google map location.

Tierra del RavenTree

1 site · RV, Tent18 acres · Placitas, NM
Ultimate peace and privacy. Nestled in juniper-wooded hills with sweeping views. Close to Albuquerque (20 minutes) and Santa Fe (40 minutes) but feels like a secluded retreat. Most people have no problem finding my place by entering my address in their GPS. However, I have had 2 HipCampers report their GPS directed them to a road called Camino de las Brisas or Las Brisas Loop. Turning here will lead you to a steep, dangerous road where it will be very difficult to turn around if you're in an RV and impossible with a trailer. Continue on Camino de Las Huertas to Senda Osa Vieja. It's marked with a street sign, a stone monument with brass plate. There's also a blue "private road" sign with a dragon. This land was purchased in 1956 by my archeologist parents because of the ancient pueblo site (dating from 1000 A.D.) and pit house sites (dating from 800 A.D.) Until the mega drought seriously impacted the land, a stream ran through it year round. Now it is only intermittent. Across the valley from this property, and within view of the campsite, is the site of a Spanish Colonial village, San Jose de las Huertas. It dates from the 1700s and is now owned by the Archeological Conservancy. This area is rich in history both Native American and Spanish. Learn more about this land: Located in the high desert 20 minutes from Albuquerque and 40 minutes from Santa Fe. Views of Sandia mountains, and near historic archeological sites. Within a 10 minute drive are popular mountain biking trails. Petroglyphs are a 20 minute, moderately strenuous hike from property. Very peaceful, quiet and safe. Read all the Rules and Safety info before booking so you understand exactly what facilities are and are not available, particularly if you in an RV or trailer.

Padilla Ranch and Springs

25 sites · RVs, Tents100 acres · Tajique, NM
Padilla Ranch is a 375 acre historical ranch that includes the ruins of the Tajique Indian Pueblo which dates back at least to the 1500's. 50 acres will be designated for HIP CAMP. In the Tewa language, Tahiki means"where the grasslands meet the forest." It is one of the oldest pueblos, if not the oldest, pueblos in the United States. The natural feature of Padilla Ranch is it is located on the East slopes of the Manzano Mountain range and contains numerous pinon, junipers, pine and oakbrush trees that provide perfect environment for such wild life as elk and deer. The Tajique Creek runs through the Padilla Ranch & is generally a live stream and includes a dam which furnishes water for the Tajique acequia system (which is a historic irrigation system) . Padilla Ranch also contains numerous hiking trails, horseback riding trails nearby. The Manzano Mountain wildness is located approximately 7 miles west of Padilla Ranch in the Cibola National forest where in the Fall, there is a large maple, oak and aspen forest, which is one of the largest in the country. Spacious Wilderness camping is one of the most attractive features of Padilla Ranch for tent and other forms of outdoor camping.
