Soon the steep slope anchored a Yurt with a wrap-around deck that puts you up in the trees. Our gathering spot by the creek became a camp site. Recently the grandkids' Bunk House found its way in. Our Retreat is 10 acres, narrow, but 1/4 mile deep, stretching down a steep wooded slope to a creek - and up the other side to the top of a bluff. The town of Hartsburg and the Katy Trail access is about a mile away and a flat and easy ride. Be sure to check out The Hitching Post, Hartsburg's local watering hole famous for its bluegrass jams! Hartsburg Hitching Post hours: Monday-Thursday open 4pm-1am, Friday and Saturday open 3pm-1am, Sunday open 12pm-12am. The Burg is a great place to grab breakfast, lunch or dinner on Friday and Saturday, or breakfast and lunch on Sunday. The Burg Cafe hours: Monday-Thursday Closed, Friday open 11 am-7pm, Saturday and Sunday open 7am - 1pm. The Burg has a small number of grocery items for sale as well, including ice and beverages! The view of the cabin was absolutely breath taking. The cabin overlooks the beautiful big piney river and outlooks large rocks and Missouri hills. We stayed here from 10/23-10/26 so the vibrant fall leaves painted the backdrop. Even just sitting on the patio drinking coffee was very tranquil. We could not kayak due to the weather since it was raining on and off during our stay. Lacy was so kind to give us a full refund and a discount code for next time! Outside the cabin there is a huge fire pit where we roasted marshmallows and stargazed. We recommend buying some fire wood from Lacey and utilizing the bonfire grill and regular grill. Lacey offers so many amenities that made home cooking meals super easy and enjoyable. We made some really amazing meals that we enjoyed by candlelight on the picnic table. The aesthetic of the cabin was 10/10 and super hippie/boho and cozy. Which we absolutely loved! Our dogs had a wonderful time playing fetch outside the cabin. One of the best parts was taking a hot shower while it was chilly outside. This was the perfect and most romantic trip for my boyfriend and I to celebrate his 30th birthday. It is our tradition to go Glamping for our birthdays. We’ve been to a few different airbnbs but we both agreed that this has been our fav.Lastly but most importantly, Lacey was an extremely hospitable host, really quick to answer any questions I had and went out of her way to accommodate us several times. Thank you so much Lacey we will be back:)

I really enjoyed my time on the farm. Some things to know: The outdoor shower has hot water. You can also get Wi-Fi. The port a potty was 5 star. No smelly! The pond does not have a Sandy beach and there was not a clearing through the brush to even get to the water- maybe in the height of summer this is different. The cabin was cozy, bed comfy. I did wish for a screen door and would have been thankful for air to be turned on before my arrival- the cabin temp fluctuates in both directions with outdoor temp rapidly. I enjoyed the grounds. Beautiful. Some great wide trails to hike. Hartsburg, and the Katey Trail are literally a miles down a gravel road. Would totally be doable to ride off the trail and stay the night! Visitors in the Farm House were definitely noted, they are pretty close and if out on their patio you will def hear their entire conversation, lucky for me they only did that on night one. (It was highlighted for me bc I was traveling solo, as a woman, and they came in loud and late and didn’t maintain their suggested boundaries. Night two was not the same.) Communication from host was really great. I would return or tell others about the opportunity to enjoy this sweet little spot.

Weekend Trip to Ozarks Piney Bend Riverfront

I can’t say enough good things about my stay at Piney Bend River Cabin! From the very beginning, Lacey was the most accommodating, responsive, and kind host. She put in extra effort to organize an extended Piney River float— it was the highlight of the visit! The cabin itself was just precious. It was cozy, spotless, and had more amenities than any rental I’ve ever stayed in—fully stocked with everything you could possibly need and then some. You can tell so much thought and care went into making the space welcoming and comfortable. The setting was gorgeous—right on the river with a peaceful, low-key vibe that made it the perfect place to relax and recharge. The drive up the hill to the cabin looked a little intimidating at first, but it was easily doable in my AWD Forester. Just give it some gas :) Between the amazing cabin, the beautiful location, and Lacey’s incredible hospitality, this trip couldn’t have been better. I would recommend Piney Bend River Cabin to anyone looking for a chill and secluded adventure. I can’t wait to come back! P.s. the neighbors are all friendly, including Julio, the Llama that arrived a few doors down.
