Best catfishing in the state. No fishing license is required. Just start fishing. Borders Big Black civil war battlefield. Pets are family and always welcome. Off leash is fantastic as long as your good with it. Lots of room to run. Jon boats with motors, Kayaks and ATV's always ok. Large stretches of sand bars when water permits. Not far from I-20. Great cell reception. Good restaurant down the road in Bovina. Loves truck stop just down the road. The existing road going in "Vickors Rd" can be bumpy, dusty, wet and may hold pools of water at times but the road itself is solid and will support the heaviest of vehicles.

What an amazing campsite. Scott, the host, was incredible and super friendly and knowledgable. There is a beautiful lake on site where campers can fish and hike, and the place is super clean, quiet, and secluded. The amenities are super clean and pleasant. Overall, a great experience. I will definitely come back and visit Scott and his campsite.

Scott was very respectful, and we felt safe at Black River Campsite. He was very committed to making the camping experience a good one. The road coming in is a bit bumpy and tough in a vehicle with low ground clearance, but not impossible. Just gotta take it slow. The site was perfectly level and good for a car camper. Showers were awesome, warm, and he keeps things very clean! Gorgeous views too and nice little hiking trails, fishing spots.

We had a great stay. We pitched our tent close to the entrance for the use of electricity. There was lots of clutter around and the grass needed cutting, but we made the best of it. If it were a little cooler we would have definitely camped closer to the small swimming hole. We stayed 2 nights. Vincent was very easy to communicate with and responded quickly to messages. Great place for an overnight stay with a small RV or if you want to pitch a tent in the woods for a night.

Jon, keeps up the property extremely well. Well groomed, scenic spots, and pretty level.
Coming in is a little ruff on the dirt road, but trust me it's worth it!!
Host, is extremely accommodating generous person. We enjoyed hanging out, and a fabulous friendship has erupted!!
We will most definitely be back and hope Jon will also visit us sometime

Spent 1 night on our way back home to Louisiana. Easy to find day/night (we arrived after dark), it’s ,secure, secluded, perfect for a tent or a self-contained RV. We were in a 32’ motor home and had no problem getting in/out of the property. There’s an awesome creek with couple of waterfalls. There’s a 3’ waterfall. that you could put a float or two in the 4’ pool below and just lose yourself in the beauty and peacefulness of nature there. I got in the creek and walked it a bit. I would’ve had my float in that pool if, we didn’t have to head back home. The stars are beautiful in the evening. My husband & I, are looking forward to planning a trip back in the near future to spend a whole weekend enjoying the property & creek. Perfect place to get away from everything and yet, near to stores and interstate

We really enjoyed camping and hiking on Vincent's land. The trails follow a creek that runs through the property and end at a waterfall, very scenic. Vincent was a great host and quickly responded to any questions we had.
