Camp Strong Wood derives its name from the many natural growth oak trees found on the property as well as being in the Strong Hope community. Wildlife abounds with deer, rabbit, squirrel, fox, racoon, opossum, armadillo, chipmunk among other forest dwellers. The lake is in a natural flood bottom and is stocked with largemouth bass, perch, channel catfish and natural flathead catfish which came in through the creek which runs through the land.

Our stay was pretty much what we were looking for - secluded, quiet, and comfortable. The best part was the staff. They were beyond just friendly and professional, but were also very accommodating. They gave us a side-by-side tour of the property, let us borrow a phone charger, and even offered us fishing poles and bait to use in the two beautiful ponds. If you are looking for something secluded and quiet where you can just relax and enjoy nature, we strongly recommend.

We had a great stay. We pitched our tent close to the entrance for the use of electricity. There was lots of clutter around and the grass needed cutting, but we made the best of it. If it were a little cooler we would have definitely camped closer to the small swimming hole. We stayed 2 nights. Vincent was very easy to communicate with and responded quickly to messages. Great place for an overnight stay with a small RV or if you want to pitch a tent in the woods for a night.

Spent 1 night on our way back home to Louisiana. Easy to find day/night (we arrived after dark), it’s ,secure, secluded, perfect for a tent or a self-contained RV. We were in a 32’ motor home and had no problem getting in/out of the property. There’s an awesome creek with couple of waterfalls. There’s a 3’ waterfall. that you could put a float or two in the 4’ pool below and just lose yourself in the beauty and peacefulness of nature there. I got in the creek and walked it a bit. I would’ve had my float in that pool if, we didn’t have to head back home. The stars are beautiful in the evening. My husband & I, are looking forward to planning a trip back in the near future to spend a whole weekend enjoying the property & creek. Perfect place to get away from everything and yet, near to stores and interstate

We really enjoyed camping and hiking on Vincent's land. The trails follow a creek that runs through the property and end at a waterfall, very scenic. Vincent was a great host and quickly responded to any questions we had.

Weekend Trip to Camp Strong Wood
Chris was terrific from the moment we arrived. The cabin was adequate for our needs and the outdoor kitchen on the porch was perfect. The land and the lake are beautiful. Fresh from the lake fish fried for dinner! A great getaway and we will be back.

I feel my words will prove inadequate to capture the essence of what Camp Strong Wood has to offer anyone who is fortunate enough to follow their sense of wonder into this beautiful land. If you are trying to have a human experience by going back to basics, without sacrificing civility and genuine hospitality - this is the place that needs to top your list.
The staff (Chris and Zoey) are wonderful and caring people who made us Floridians feel welcome from the moment we arrived late at night when they came out to greet us with a smile! The atmosphere of community, communication with the land and its creatures and features, and tangible love of what the do was so refreshing - people who are so grateful and blessed to call their stewardship of this acreage their livelihood.
Everything is sanitary and well-constructed with care. I loved my stay and will be back in the near future.
This place is well worth your time and money, highly recommend.
