Sweet Olive Cabin can be a little difficult to find, especially in the dark. A GPS will get you close. The cabin is close to the road, Blossom Hill Rd. If you are coming in from the north, the cabin will be on the right. If coming in from the south, it will be on the left. Let me know If your eta is after dark, and I can leave the porch lights on for you.
Other things to note
Scott County is a dry county with beer available for sale or beer and alcohol for dining in at some locations.
Sweet Olive Cabin is not a “pet-friendly” property. We do, however, make an exception for registered service animals with an additional $25 fee.
In Forest (5-8 miles), there is Vowell’s grocery store, Walmart, and many fast food restaurants. For eating in, try Foothills lunch/dinner with live music on Friday and Saturday nights. If you are looking for some genuine southern cooking, there’s The Garden Patch (open till 2 pm M-Th).

We only overnighted at Wendy Oaks. It was a great, easily accessed campground for us. I add that as we travel with a small trailer and a U-turn was necessary. The trees and lake made me feel like I was in a camp ground, Unfortunately it rained all night and we skipped the hike around the lake. Our site was gravel but level.

Our stay was pretty much what we were looking for - secluded, quiet, and comfortable. The best part was the staff. They were beyond just friendly and professional, but were also very accommodating. They gave us a side-by-side tour of the property, let us borrow a phone charger, and even offered us fishing poles and bait to use in the two beautiful ponds. If you are looking for something secluded and quiet where you can just relax and enjoy nature, we strongly recommend.

I enjoyed the privacy. Still new to camping and felt comfortable in the elements solo. There are decent size catfish if you're into fishing. Appreciated being left alone while still being able to reach him in a timely manner if I needed anything. Gave tips and information to help.

We loved our night at the Rock Hill campsite! The parked close to the picnic table, which is conveniently located in the shade of a mature tree, overlooking the pond. As others have mentioned, the available flush toilet was a nice perk! We arrived about an hour before dusk, so didn’t have much of a chance to enjoy the site until morning- but the next day we took our time getting going and saw some fabulous bird activity on the water- herons, geese, etc. Very peaceful spot! Highly recommend.
