This sprawling historic retreat offers 10 beautifully appointed cottages that can accommodate 50 overnight guests. There is a very large, beautiful meeting room as well as an enormous banquet hall with a well-stocked commercial kitchen, compete with all linens, tableware, and stemware. The covered, screened pavilion is enormous and is the perfect place for a wedding ceremony, reception, or conference. Guests absolutely love to stretch out on the 13 acres and explore the neatly manicured grounds. The river is easily accessible and is usually the right depth for wading, swimming, kayaking and canoeing. In the hot summer months, the massive pool provides a welcome oasis, while tennis and basketball is always available. The Rivers Retreat provides the perfect, breathtaking venue for your memorable event!

Swamp Camp offers a unique, peaceful retreat for nature enthusiasts in the heart of Louisiana swamp country.
We are located at the dead end of a quiet one-mile road called “Happywoods.” Our camp, built on piers, is situated in the wetlands along the Tickfaw River and adjacent to Tickfaw State Park.
We overlook a wilderness sanctuary home to turtles, alligators, beavers, and otters, along with a variety of water birds among the wildlife. The camp is centered around a 300-plus-year-old cypress tree.
The space
The cabin is an open-concept design with high ceilings and two open lofts for sleeping. The bathroom includes a sliding door for privacy. There are two walk-up decks for entering the cabin from the outside. Below the cabin is a long, semi-covered deck. Directly beneath the cabin is an additional sink, as well as two toilets and two showers. The camp is situated on two acres of land with adjacent wetlands on two sides.
