New Earth Homestead

This land is just off the "Old Taos Highway" which used to be a travel route for the Conquistadors who mined gold out of the nearby Sangre de Cristo Mountains. They would sometimes bury their gold along the way as to avoid being robbed. Located in the shadow of Taos Mountain, this place is mystical. After leaving my corporate job, I've set up a homestead here, all built by my mom and I. The campsite is adjacent to our homestead, and it embodies all of the beauty and excitement that the West Mesa offers.

The rustic 2 bedroom, 1 bath cabin has a full size, well-appointed kitchen and a cozy wood stove. The master bedroom has a luxurious pillow top queen bed and the second bedroom has a full size bed and a twin sized bunk bed. The living room has a full size futon. The cabin will sleep 5 comfortably. The cabin is pet-friendly!Outside under the pines, is a gas grill, picnic table and a fire pit to enjoy cool evenings.Fish the river right outside your cabin across the private park or in over 30 smaller streams and tributaries in the county that offer some remarkable fishing for Rainbow and Native Brown Trout. The cabin is in a remote part of the Conejos River Canyon - no cell phone access, internet or television. Wi-fi should be available in mid-June 2020.

Throw some fly's, bark at the moon, target some clay...There are no shared amenities at this listing but there are 3 sites available to book on my 5 acres. You'll be able to choose your own spot when you arrive. Mudita Camel's Yurt

Eons ago camels roamed through the San Luis Valley and today they roam once again.  Come and stay at our yurt enjoying views of the mountains and of the camels and donkeys roaming their home.   Take a farm tour and get the chance to pet the camels and maybe even sneak a camel kiss.  Enjoy a night stay at the yurt viewing the stars or enjoying a nice fire at the fire pit.   Come stay in our yurt and get the chance to meet our little herd of camels and wake up to the views of the gorgeous surroundings!  Travel down a few miles of dirt roads and you will find our little oasis of 35 acres.  The hard-sided yurt sits right next to the field where our camels and donkeys roam.  Set apart from the main house, sitting in Trujillo Canyon, and surrounded by BLM/National Forrest, its the perfect spot for recharging. Located off the beaten path so amazing for star gazing but also close enough to the Sand Dunes for day adventures.  Our property is off the grid and allows you to disconnect for a little while and there is a nice creek to go and sit by.  Each stay also includes a farm tour if you are interested.  The night skies have little light pollution and are perfect for star gazing.  We can't wait for you to come and stay with us!Don't take our word for it, guests love their stays with us! "We struck gold finding this magical place. The yurt was so cozy, comfy, and full of tons of extras that exceeded our expectations. We booked our little trip to visit the dunes, but this farm was by far the best part of our trip.
