Learn more about this land:We are located on the remote South Fork of the Salmon River surrounded by 3 wilderness areas (Marble Mountains, Trinity Alps and Russian Wilderness) we are a wonderful place to base a wilderness adventure out of or just come to enjoy the peace tranquility and natural beauty of the area. Our property is located along a small creek with some dipping holes and a nice shaded creek to play in, there are great swimming holes near by to explore. We have a 21 hole professional disc golf course on the property as well as a gas station and The Salmon River Saloon (which is currently open by reservation only). We can accommodate large groups, however there are extra fees because have to bring in extra bathrooms. Disc golf course fees are included in camping fees. Note, the Salmon River road from Somes Bar to Cecilville is a one lane road with 2 way traffic and not recommended for those pulling trailer unless you are up for an adventure come via HWY 3 through Weaverville with a trailer if you are coming from the coast. Please note we are completely off Grid, there is no Cell service within 50 miles of the location.

A beautiful 70-acre farm located in the heart of Scott Valley along French Creek, where you can go swimming, but no fishing. Alpine lakes close by in the Russian and Marble Mountain wilderness areas for hiking and fishing. The Pacific Crest trail can be partially hiked from the top of Scott Mt. to our western town of Etna (just 4 miles up the road) established during the gold rush in 1853. My hay fields are being grazed by 20 pairs of cows to replenish the soil at present. I grow organic vegetables and fruit trees, where I welcome my guests to help in the garden. Blackberry picking in the summer is a game to beat the birds! Many species of birds call my farm home. Many heritage apple trees planted by Johnny Appleseed grace my front lawn and lower pasture. Fall is apple picking time. The farm was started in 1926. My 100-year-old haying barn is in the process of being restored, keeping the unique feature of a stream running through it. Quiver, my horse, is the sole occupant with visits from Mr. Cream, the feral cat and my faithful rescue German Shepherd, General Rommel. I am also remodeling the 100-year-old farmhouse with a modern kitchen where soon I will have a cooking school. Relaxing on the lawn swing looking south to the snow-capped mountains of the Trinity Alps wilderness area is a perfect way to end the day!

High mountain lakes: Take a short drive and you'll have access to multiple high mountain lakes that provide cool places to escape the summer heat, fish, swim, or take the canoes to on a hot summer day. Trinity Lake and Lake Siskiyou: Only a 45 minute drive from your campsite are the beautiful Trinity and Siskiyou Lakes! Bring your ski or fishing boats! Swimming: The Scott, Salmon and Trinity Rivers are all within an hour's drive and provide many beautiful and remote swimming holes. Hiking: The Pacific Crest Trail crosses Scott Mountain summit just 9 miles from the property and provides great access to countless trails, high mountain lakes and wilderness trailheads. Mountain Biking: Endless Forest Service roads make great bike riding trails for the whole family. Ask your host for more advanced trail options. Nestled in a tiny town with little traffic, no cell phone reception and nature as far as the eye can reach, the property butts up against the wild and scenic South Fork of the Trinity River. Here you will be able to unwind, relax and make the space your own for just a few days or up to a month. The 2 houses on the property are about 80' from the RV spot. Enough plants are grown around each house to provide privacy in the summer/fall. The property has a farm vibe. There are large vegetable gardens, fruit trees and I raise Duck and Lamb meat. MOST IMPORTANT: There is no cell phone reception in town or anywhere near it, however I do provide unlimited WIFI via a booster. This place is not suitable for children, pets or cigarette smokers. Babies/Toddlers are ok. The property is adjacent to a country road and though you can hear the traffic as it goes by, the amount of cars is small in this town of 250 people. There are 2 neighbors that are quiet and considerate and far enough away to enjoy your privacy and nature retreat. The property is 5 Acres and borders the South Fork of the Trinity River and Hayfork Creek. There is a short little trail near the house for walks or jogs, and plenty of pristine swim spots/holes all over this area. We have a small Post Office and one small General Store that offers some basic non organic food items/supplies, gas and propane. I grow my own produce and will be happy to share any excess produce during your stay. However, it is important to arrive well prepared with food and supplies before arriving at property. The next closest town with more amenities is Hayfork, and it's about a 40 minute drive. No hospital or police station in town. Next services are in Weaverville CA. Nearest place to get all groceries is in Hayfork, a 35 min drive from Hyampom.
