Welcome to Ouachita River Haven!
Nestled between Ouachita National Forest property and the Ouachita River, our Haven is a peaceful little slice of nature for you to take a break, catch your breath, and enjoy the outdoors! Property has 1000 ft of river access, with canoe & kayak docks, swimming hole, volleyball and tetherball, horseshoes, swings.
We offer hiking, mountain biking, and river shuttles as well as canoe/kayak/tube rentals and shuttles. Such trips should be reserved in advance by messaging us or visiting our website.
Our office sells firewood for $5/bundle. We also have a small array of custom woodwork items from our woodshop, freeze dried snacks and hiking restocks, food from local vendors, and souvenirs!
All primitive sites have a picnic table, fire ring, and campfire grill grate.
Electric sites are 30 amp, if using for tent camping you will need a 3-prong converter (we can rent one to you for $5 if you do not have your own). RV/Camper MAXIMUM length is 28 feet.
Tipi rental is a camping experience only; it does not have electricity, a/c or heat. There are solar lights inside. We do have a Queen Sized outdoor bed and bedding available to add to rental for $10/night.
Bunkhouse is a camping experience - bring your own bedding. A/C, heat, electricity, TV & DVDs, Microwave, and Mini fridge are inside. Guests use campground restrooms
Campground restrooms and showers are a short walk from campgrounds.
We are pet-friendly. Dogs must be leashed at all times that they are not in a tent or camper and friendly with other dogs and people. There is a working dog on the property-he is friendly with all people and dogs.

We are located on 22 acres near Hot Springs National Park. The property ranges from our beautiful, clear creek to the wooded hilltop. Guests are able to roam the property, the barnyard, picnic and relax anywhere on the property except our front yard. Two picnic areas are located along the creek. One is near the driveway and the other is more secluded and accessible by walking a short trail.
Other things to note
The property is on a dirt road and there is a one lane bridge to cross. We live onsite and travel it everyday in a minivan.
WiFi is available inside and next to the apartment. It's adequate for streaming but may go out during a storm. Cell service can be limited in the area depending on your service provider.

With kids
We had the best time staying at Mike’s place! Location is very close to downtown Hot Springs. Accommodations were clean and comfortable. We enjoyed meeting the goats, pigs, chickens, and other animals around the farm. My son got to milk a goat and we enjoyed some fresh goat milk with breakfast! The hot tub was a nice touch as well. Highly recommend this experience!

Weekend Trip to Caddo River Secluded Shack w/Kayaks
My Fiancé and I adored the shack! The scenery was absolutely beautiful. You could hear and see the river from the bedroom and porch! The outdoor bathtub was a lovely addition and the kitchen was stocked with everything we could need and more. The space was so cozy and the location was close to Hot Springs and Mt Ida which was exactly what we were looking for. We would absolutely stay again.

A simple cozy cabin to enjoy the seasons changing in the mountains. A riverside view of the sunrise is hard to pass up! Todd did well to make this a lovely spot to stay.

We loved our stay at The Shack! It was clean and comfortable and we enjoyed the outdoors as well. The river was easily accessible and our dog loved swimming.
