This is a great campground for splitting the climb up Longs Peak into two days. There's also so much to explore in this area that it makes a great base camp. Nearby is Mount Meeker which is just under 14,000 feet and more challenging (and less populated) than the Longs Peak climb. You can also hike to Chasm Lake or Peacock Pool below Longs Peak or explore the Estes Cone Trail.
