Calico Camp is a lovely, shady spot on private property about 2 miles from Calico Rock Main Street and the White River. Rich in history and great fishing. Bring your boat and kayak. Or, you can rent one in town. There are fishing guides available, too. I moved here in 2016 from Atlanta, Georgia. I actually lived in an RV in a beautiful park for several years there. And, loved it! I thought I was going to do that here, but changed my mind when I found this sweet little house on a couple of acres. Deer visit us, and bunnies make their homes here. I have cats and dogs of my own. I work at the Calico Rock Museum and invite you to visit us. We have a wonderful Heritage Center and a gallery/gift shop with works of art created by local artisans. About 2 miles from the White River and Main Street Calico Rock. Turn from Hwy. 56 can be tricky for big rigs because of a ditch at Jones Street. Left hand turn is easier than right hand turn. You can use the parking lot across the street to help you back your rig into the campsite. We have permission from the owner to do that. There is room for your boat, too. Pets are welcome. Close to grocery, bank, gas. The White River is famous for its trout fishing. Deer hunting in the area, too. (Not on this property.) The hookups are on the left side (right side if you back in). You may need extensions for your power and sewer. I have them available, if you don’t have your own. PLEASE TAKE YOUR TRASH WITH YOU WHEN YOU LEAVE. Clean up your spot and make it welcoming for the next Hipcamper. Thank you so much.

If you explore our complete 80 acres here, we are located very close to many other attractions, hiking trails, and some of the best trout fishing in the world! Last minute accommodations welcome. We are a homestead located on 20 acres, nestled at the end of a quiet gravel road. Our rolling fields are home to two cows and our rescued buffalo, where they graze peacefully throughout the day. You'll also see chickens pecking around the property and our lazy tomcat lounging in the shade. The property features two ponds, including our main pond, “The cabin on the pond” which is available for catch-and-release fishing. Our secluded campsites are located at the back of the property among large shade trees. The sites include a picnic table, fire pit, and rustic outhouse. An outdoor water pump is available nearby, although it is not located directly at the campsite. Garbage and recycling bins are also provided for your convenience. There are two homes on the property. Your host lives in the log cabin, while family members reside in the tiny home. We are available to answer any questions, assist with your stay, and show you around the property if you'd like. The campsites offers a primitive camping experience while still being just 15 minutes from the quaint town of Mountain View. Buck Hollow on the Jack's Fork River is only 5 minutes away and is a great spot for fishing, swimming, and canoeing. We can also assist with kayak transportation for a $20 fee. If you're looking to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life, this is the perfect place. Enjoy the sounds of nature, watch the morning sun rise over the hills, and admire the lightning bugs as they flicker through the trees at night. And don't forget to say hello to Buffy, our friendly buffalo, as he grazes in the pasture. Enjoy a quiet stay outside in nature. Because we're located in the countryside, you may also encounter local wildlife during your stay.

We are just getting Dotson acres started. Our motto is faith, family and farmstead. We just moved here this summer of 2025 from Tennessee so the property is a work in progress. I am a veteren of the Marine Corps and also a volunteer firefighter and we live and operate under christian values. Eventually to add to your camping experience, ive got plans for some off grid cabins and an earthship. In addition to camp spots, ai would like to make a little prayer area in the woods with some benches and a big cross. We hope to have a trail cut and cleared for a small hike soon. The plans for Dotson acres is to also sell chainsaw carvings and other things I weld, sculpt or create. Plant starts and garden produce, chicken eggs and any other creative ways we can find to help fund our dream of being together doing what we love instead of going to a normal job to make someone elses dreams come true. Not far away you can visit Mark Twain National Forest, Montauk State Park, Ozark National Scenic Riverways, and the Laura Ingalls Wilder Historic Home and Museum to name a few. Roughly 40 minutes off I44 at rolla and 20 minutes ftom hwy 60 just 2 hours to branson and springfield. Walmart and fast food are just 10 minutes away. We are new to the area but there are other lakes, trails and stuff to do close. Lots of flea markets and antiques stores close by to go explore. Located on a small private lane there are a few quiet neighbors. There is a parking area to access trail by walk in, though we are trying to make it vehicle accessable. Our first spot is able to fit a small van camper or a pickup with a small box camper though its pretty tight. 4x4 may be needed. We appreciate your reviews on hipcamp and google. This 12-acre property is high in the Ozarks, literally next door to the Mark Twain National Forest. The space being rented is large enough for a small trailer and several vehicles, and can also accommodate multiple tents. Nice view. It can be used for vacation camping, hunting base camp, hiking trips, or photography expeditions. You can also use the space as a base camp for rafting trips. This place is absolutely crawling with wildlife: deer, bear, turkeys, and countless other critters big and small. There’s even supposedly a red wolf or two in the area. The property is separated into two halves by a high ridge. One side of the ridge is for living and farming, and the other side is for hunting and hiking. There is a seasonal creek on each side of the ridge. Your rental spot is kept cut short and is treated for ticks and chiggers. 4x4 required.
