The drive to the property is beautiful and the site itself felt very secluded and remote, which we were after. Scott & Sarah were very responsive hosts who were always easily accessible via text.
My one caution is once you turn off the main highway it becomes a dirt/gravel road for the final few miles. This road is very steep at times which could become an issue if you are towing with 2WD.. which I was, haha. I had to unhitch on the slope and let a friend take over who had 4WD, who got it to the camp spot after this. Once I wasn't towing my trailer, my 2WD truck managed to get to the camp site just fine.
All this to say if you are towing a travel trailer make sure your vehicle is 4WD; if it is just your vehicle you'll be alright with 2WD. I recommend this spot and we will be back in the future with the proper tow vehicle :)

Beautiful location and Scott was very friendly and helpful. I personally loved it and would come back again.
The site is very private and there is literally nothing around you at night. The ranch faces the mountain in a direction where there is zero man made light. It's just you, the moon, and the stars. It's amazing.
Quick note for other campers. This is not your state-park style camping. You drive through dirt road to get to it and the campsite has dirt too, at least for the Big Skye View site I booked. I don't mind it but the rest of my families didn't feel so hot about it. So check w/ your co-campers.
There were also some bees that loved our cooking too much that we had to move around a few times. But I consider this normal for camping.
I'd describe the overall experience somewhere between a campground and dispersed camping, with an impeccable view.
Bottom line: come here for the view & be ready to work with the elements.

Skye ranch was exactly what we were looking for to watch the Perseids meteor shower! Not a cloud in the sky and big wide open areas to see the stars. Would love to come back!

Amazing property and very peaceful! Very friendly hosts as well; they met us on their 4 wheeler. Just be aware parts of the road are steep dirt, which can be challenging for 2wd vehicles. Also no bathrooms, so best for a small RV or truck camper. Side note: google maps didn't find the address, so get directions from your host :). Would definitely stay again.

We stayed at Skye View, the uppermost site. It is a truly special place with amazing privacy and views of the valley. You can camp under a big oak tree as the cool breeze emerges from the valley. A real 4x4 is needed to get to the hilltop. We are already planning our next visit. Scott and Sara are responsive, welcoming hosts.

Scott and Sarah were total sweethearts and I loved every second of staying on their land. I was able to snag the hilltop view and had the most peaceful evening watching the sunset and had the coolest breeze coming through the mountains after a hot day. There are a few spots to stay, so we made our way down to the lower spot to use the picnic table for breakfast. I'd love to come back to stargaze some more and excited to hear all the things this lovely couple has in store for more hipcamps!

We loved Skye Ranch! Very private, amazing views, and good directions. Lots of wildlife…. There is long grass around, so bring a nice tarp to lay down.

The site was perfect for night sky watching, which is why I was there. So yay! Well the super bright motion sensor flood lights did keep going off and felt like they were pointed right my direction, that did kill my night vision several times. 😂 Google maps leads you to the neighbors house, and the roads were so steep and gravely I was a bit nervous to make a wrong turn and have to climb the hills again. It was fine, but my CRV is not 4wd, and kinda weak sauce, so I spun out a bit. Most instant books provide directions instantly, this one required a phone call and list of instructions, I didn’t have good reception so that was tricky. They did end up texting me directions, but I had to go back in town and park to get it. There is certainly no view of the creek, I had to do some hunting to even find it, and it was not easy to access, but was nice to put my feet in the dribble of creek left since it was a very hot day and there were no trees at the site. The tent pad is a small fenced in terrace up on a hill with a Camper parked, beautiful expansive views of the ridges all around. Tall grass, and not much space to move around. I Star gazed, I slept, I left. I feel I paid too much for no amenities, and it was kinda frustrating experience getting there. But thanks for sharing this land.

Skye Ranch was Sooooooo Beautiful !!!! The views were amazing and the setting was so peaceful. Scott and Sarah were amazing host. I’ll definitely be back. Skye ranch is the perfect spot for exploring the AV!!!! Thanks!!!!

The host, Scott, met us when we arrived and showed us around. He was very friendly and accommodating. The property is in a wonderful location, overlooking a little valley. We were there in springtime. Everything was green and verdant. We saw deer and quail on the drive in.

Amazing piece of property in the Yorkville Highlands. THIS is the stuff that makes Anderson Valley so magical. Great views of the valley. Carpets of wildflowers. So many songbirds. Deer all over. No other humans, except Scott, and he’s a really fine guy.
Glad we had 4wd, but it’s very 2wd accessible.

We could not find the location. There was insufficient signage. The address provided was not labeled as such. The road to the location is steep and primative and REQUIRED 4x4 not 4x2 as listed. The area lacked cell service so we could not reach out for help. We felt fortunate to leave without damage to our truck or small 17 ft travel trailer.
