Sky Camp is like a home without walls, offering panoramic desert views that will take your breath away. The camp is situated high on the hills of the Bartlett Mountain Range and offers great views of Joshua Tree National Park, just minutes away.

Our eclectic offerings include four individual campsites with picnic tables, charcoal grills, fire pits, and of course, art. We also provide an outdoor shower (cold water) and bathroom with a flushing toilet and sink, and a large, covered, concrete patio equipped with two picnic tables, a large charcoal grill, a wood burning stove, hammock chairs, and a comfortable seating area. The Big-Rig Lounge offers shelter in inclement weather, and the Sky Swing is a perfect place to snuggle up and star-gaze. Art installations can be enjoyed all around the campground. Space is plentiful for parking and spreading out at each campsite. Campsites can be reserved individually, or groups (up to 12 people) can reserve the entire campground. PLEASE NOTE, IF YOUR GROUP IS LARGER THAN 2 SITES CAN ACCOMMODATE (6 PEOPLE), YOU MUST RESERVE THE ENTIRE CAMPGROUND. Contact us for group pricing and availability. If you're camping in a camper van or small trailer, campsite #4 was made just for you, just keep in mind there are no hook-ups.

Sky Camp is surrounded with open space and situated next to BLM land. There are endless outdoor recreational opportunities, including hiking, biking, bouldering, breathtaking sunrises and sunsets, dark starry nights, and quiet solitude. The village of Joshua Tree is only a few miles down the road and offers unique options for dining and shopping. Most of our businesses are independent, locally owned and charged by the positive forces of Joshua Tree ;-)

You can follow us on Instagram at skycampjoshuatree for more photos and information on the area. And mountain bikers can check out the Bartlett Mountain Loop on mtbproject's website for a trail you pick up directly from Sky Camp. It includes a virtual tour and downloadable map!

SKYCAMP was the perfect getaway I was looking for. The location was perfect, providing amazing sky views in the early morning hours, sunset and nighttime. The campsite was enough space for all my belongings and with enough privacy to feel comfortable at all times. The restroom, shower area and common areas were all very clean too. In addition, the art installations made for a cool camping experience. Kimberly was great about communicating directions to the property, campsite rules and expectations, as well as updates about other campers' reservations which made me feel safer (I camped alone). I strongly recommend staying here and will make sure to come back next time I visit Joshua Tree.

Thank you for coming to visit and for posting such nice comments, Jose. We really like when solo campers post reviews about their experience because there are other solo campers considering a stay at Sky Camp and reading about your experience helps them to feel comfortable booking a site for their own solo journey. So, thanks again.

We loved our too-short stay at Sky Camp. Due to events beyond our control (hit a deer east of Redding) our road trip itinerary had to change and we only got one night there, but I wanted more and I would highly recommend. It’s such a great isolated spot at the end of a road, and the amenities are better than advertised - the bathroom is clean and tidy, and using the outdoor shower on a warm desert morning with the sun just coming up is a level of refreshment I won’t forget (and wish I could repeat elsewhere!). Overall a great place to stay, makes me want to get back to the desert. Oh and by coincidence, while we were there, our hometown in the Northwest was experiencing a heat wave unlike any in recorded history, with high temps higher than Sky Camp for a few days - so we got to ‘cool down’ in the Mojave!

Thank you for the nice review, Stephen. You have a way with words and we especially liked the part about "cooling down in the Mojave." : ) We are glad you could visit for the night and when the time is right, look forward to welcoming you back to Sky Camp.

If you are looking for a relaxing time, this is the place. We had a a lot of fun as well. The place is amazing with a spectacular view both day and even better at night. You can even book the entire comp for yourself, which I highly recommend. Everything is clean and tidy. We recommend just putting your food in the cars or in containers, as expected it’s out doors and there’s little cute critters at night 🤣. The host Kimberly is easy to communicate with and friendly. Defiantly if they let us stay again we will hands down.
