Sky Camp is like a home without walls, offering panoramic desert views that will take your breath away. The camp is situated high on the hills of the Bartlett Mountain Range and offers great views of Joshua Tree National Park, just minutes away.

Our eclectic offerings include four individual campsites with picnic tables, charcoal grills, fire pits, and of course, art. We also provide an outdoor shower (cold water) and bathroom with a flushing toilet and sink, and a large, covered, concrete patio equipped with two picnic tables, a large charcoal grill, a wood burning stove, hammock chairs, and a comfortable seating area. The Big-Rig Lounge offers shelter in inclement weather, and the Sky Swing is a perfect place to snuggle up and star-gaze. Art installations can be enjoyed all around the campground. Space is plentiful for parking and spreading out at each campsite. Campsites can be reserved individually, or groups (up to 12 people) can reserve the entire campground. PLEASE NOTE, IF YOUR GROUP IS LARGER THAN 2 SITES CAN ACCOMMODATE (6 PEOPLE), YOU MUST RESERVE THE ENTIRE CAMPGROUND. Contact us for group pricing and availability. If you're camping in a camper van or small trailer, campsite #4 was made just for you, just keep in mind there are no hook-ups.

Sky Camp is surrounded with open space and situated next to BLM land. There are endless outdoor recreational opportunities, including hiking, biking, bouldering, breathtaking sunrises and sunsets, dark starry nights, and quiet solitude. The village of Joshua Tree is only a few miles down the road and offers unique options for dining and shopping. Most of our businesses are independent, locally owned and charged by the positive forces of Joshua Tree ;-)

The campground was relatively secluded. Our neighbors on the other sites in the campground were friendly. I liked the gate to get on the property, it definitely gave a feeling of privacy. The hammocks were not there and the bathrooms were missing toilet paper however.

Cute spot!! Love the view

Pros: I liked the clean bathroom and a cold outdoor shower, so great during the morning when it’s hot and you just want an outdoor camping spot with great amenities and few people. If I came back it would be after camping in joshua tree and wanting a night of camping with the running water to feel fresh again- and I would buy out all the spots with friends as not to feel like I’m intruding. I like all the art and how they designed everything. Very cool spot for a small group to hang out.

Cons: I was a little disappointed quiet hours started at 9 pm, I’m usually the kind of camper that likes to stay up late and laugh with friends and it definately wasn’t that type of camping…everyone was asleep by 9. We also couldn’t have a fire and the hammock chairs were not there like pictured (bummer because those looked cute!). The camping spaces are a lot closer than they look in the picture which also felt a little awkward, but the other people seemed chill.

SKYCAMP was a great experience! We loved the view from our campsite, loved the entertainment features, and enjoyed the communal area since we got to meet some really cool people during our stay!

Beautiful view, flush toilet, running water. Lots of room between you & your camp neighbors. Bummer there were strict rules on a camp fire (we used a propane stove and a charcoal grill for cooking), but the first night we were there it was windy af. There is wildlife there - we saw some rabbits, tiny squirrels and a tarantula. And the tp & soap ran out after the first 24 hours (we were there two nights) without any replenishments to be seen - so be prepared with extra tp and hand soap just in case. I would highly recommend for a fun girls trip or couples get away. Not so much for kiddos. Excited to visit again!

We LOVE S K Y C A M P! This was our second camping trip here and it's the best camp site we've ever been to. Excellent hosts and communication. Amazing sunrises and sunsets. Highly recommend! We hope to come back again.

SKYCAMP was the perfect getaway I was looking for. The location was perfect, providing amazing sky views in the early morning hours, sunset and nighttime. The campsite was enough space for all my belongings and with enough privacy to feel comfortable at all times. The restroom, shower area and common areas were all very clean too. In addition, the art installations made for a cool camping experience. Kimberly was great about communicating directions to the property, campsite rules and expectations, as well as updates about other campers' reservations which made me feel safer (I camped alone). I strongly recommend staying here and will make sure to come back next time I visit Joshua Tree.

Thank you for coming to visit and for posting such nice comments, Jose. We really like when solo campers post reviews about their experience because there are other solo campers considering a stay at Sky Camp and reading about your experience helps them to feel comfortable booking a site for their own solo journey. So, thanks again.
