The hosts were exceptionally sweet & welcoming!!
Dan met us when we arrived, introduced the farm friends to us, & walked us to our spot. There were some tips and tricks he shared to make our stay as cozy as possible. They respected our space while being on theirs, gave recommendations for local shopping areas (reason for our lil stay 🛍️🏷️🎁), shared stories, and allowed us to feed their animals! 🐎🐖🦃

Beautiful location on a small farm. Daniel and Virginia were kind and hospitable. The food was absolutely wonderful. A must stay if you are looking for a quiet place to stay and enjoy animals and nature. Would definitely make a second trip

My husband and I stopped in on our way home from Texas. We both grew up in the country so we wanted a little night to ourselves in a place we could get some peace and fresh air. It was such a cute little experience. From beginning to end we genuinely enjoyed this little b&b. Our hosts were so sweet and made us feel so comfortable. They were helpful in every way and I could’ve just sat and talked with them for hours. The cabin was adorable and had everything we needed. On top of that, it was extremely clean and put together. The animals were so fun and social…never thought I’d make friends with a turkey but I’ve already told all my family and friends about him..haha. We got the breakfast in the morning and it was scrumptious. We look forward to going back.

I feel so at home the minute my feet touch the ground … there cleaning is with excellence and their hospitality is very comforting… I would rather stay there than at a five star hotel.. I will be back!!!’

We enjoyed staying in the Hatchery Cabin. It is very cozy and well supplied. We loved meeting Bubba, Prince, Chip, Fern, and Zeb and all of the others! We enjoyed mingling with all of the animals and getting to feed them treats! Dan and Gina are great and they have a great thing going on their farm!

I stayed in Lucky H&W farm for 1 day and I couldn’t have been more happy about my decision.
Dan was really warm and he introduced me to all farm animals.Feeding animals and getting to know about them was wonderful experience.Dan made me feel comfortable .He is very warm and welcoming.They both made me feel like home.
Place is perfectly situated near Red river nature preserve on few miles and there is plenty to do in farm as well. Spending time with farm animals brought peace.
Morning breakfast at place is delicious and It’s a must. I would suggest this place to everyone looking to get back to nature and spend some time in peaceful place.
Thanks Dan and Virginia for giving me such an enriching experience.I am looking forward to visit again soon.

Our family absolutely loved our stay at Lucky H&W Farm Bed and Breakfast. This was out first experience with HipCamp, and it was incredible! We came across Dan and Gina's farm and cabin during our search for places to stay in Shreveport, LA, which was one of the stops along our cross-country road trip for my husband and (almost) 2 year-old son's birthdays, and are so glad we did!
The cabin is cute, clean, cozy and definitely provided the perfect glamping experience for our little family. We were excited to stay here because our little one loves reading about animals in books, but had not interacted with farms animals in person due to the pandemic (and our living in a city), so we thought Lucky H&W Farm would provide the perfect opportunity for us to give him a glamping and farm experience, and it was!
We arrived several hours later than expected because of a highway closure, but Dan was friendly, welcoming, and greeted us upon arrival. He took the time to walk us to our cabin and offered to figure something out for breakfast for us, as we are vegan and the menu for meals didn't include vegan options. Because we'd arrived late, and no one was checking in after us, Dan invited us to sleep in and get well rested before we headed out on the road to our next destination. He gave us a walkthrough of the cabin, left us to rest, then dropped off a platter of fresh fruit and nuts on the porch table to kick start the day the next morning, making sure not to wake us.
As we ate breakfast on the cabin porch, our little one was eager and excited to see Dan feeding the farm animals. Dan walked some of the animals over to meet us, which was a special treat for our little one. After breakfast, Dan took time to introduce us to each animal, and shared their names and stories with us. He gave our little one food to feed the animals, and helped him feel comfortable petting them. It was such a beautiful and memorable experience!
When we were ready to head out, Dan met us at the cabin in his ATV and gave us a ride back to our car so we didn't have to carry our bags over. Unfortunately, Gina wasn't feeling well, so we didn't get to meet her, but were grateful for the hospitality and generosity that she and Dan provided. We highly recommend their HipCamp to anyone looking to stay in the area - you'll be in for a memorable experience.

What a sweet place to stay! Daniel has set up a cozy camping cabin with many thoughtful touches and everything you might need during your stay in a simple compact package. Not quite camping, not quite an apartment, but somewhere in between and with the charms of both. Getting to interact with the animals in the barnyard was a delight and we opted for the farm breakfast which was delicious and delivered with a vase of flowers. Daniel and his wife were friendly, easy to communicate with, and generous with their time and homestead. This was a special experience, highly recommended!

Let me start off by saying that Gina and Dan went above and beyond for me and my wife this past weekend. They were so very kind and had no problem with showing us arot their beautiful farm and garden. All the animals are so we'll taken care of, loved and gentle. It was truly an awesome place to stay.
The Hatchery Cabin was built by Dan and made with care. It's a cozy place with some of the amenities of home. Waking up and enjoying a wonderful breakfast (that they made for us both mornings we were there) on the porch as you watched the animals morning routine was relaxing and enjoyable. The Netflix account they had on the tv allowed us to enjoy some entertainment when we retired for the night, which was a great way to wind down after a day of fun.
My wife and I agree that we have made great friends out of Dan and Gina. We have already talked about going back again sometime in the fall to enjoy the hospitality and relaxation that Lucky H&W farms provided. I highly recommend staying there to enjoy some R&R time with wonderful people and great animals.

Dan and Gina's place is amazing! So much detail has gone into it to add a personal touch. We used the surround sound to watch a movie before bed. In the morning we ordered the farm breakfast and tried four different types of eggs all collected right from the farm! We also collected some of our own eggs to take home in the morning and met all the animals. It was such a cute escape, I definitely recommend for anyone passing through or if you just want to get away.

I had such a lovely time at Lucky H&W Farm. I’m a solo female traveler, and Danny and his wife made me feel very safe and welcome. The cabin was decorated so nicely and I loved the little stuffed animals on the bed. So cute! I was able to feed the farm animals and Danny told me all about the animals backstories. Many of the animals are rescues and I loved hearing about their history. I also really enjoyed the cinnamon rolls, fresh fruit, and coffee in the morning. So tasty! I could go on and on about how much I enjoyed my stay but there isn’t enough room. Definitely check out this unique farm if you’re in the Shreveport/ Bossier City area!

We had an AMAZING stay at Lucky H&W Farm and would definitely come back. The host Dan and Gina treated us like we were their family. My review will be in 3 sections: Cabin, Farm, and food. Skip to the section you are most curious about :)
The Cabin!
The cabin is set back from the main house on a small hill in the back. During our stay it was separated by a small swampy patch. You cannot drive back to the cabin, but during our stay Dan and Gina were always available to taxi us back and forth with their atv. Dan is planning to have an elevated gravel path put in so that you can walk even when it's wet.
The cabin was really clean and the bed was comfortable. We didn't have great cell service at the cabin, but don't you worry because there's high speed WIFI. There's also a smart TV with a Netflix account just for you. I've never stay at a bnb that has a logged in Netflix account for their guest. No scrambling to remember your login/password here! The surround sound system was so nice. We used it for our movies and also to listen to music using the Amazon Music TV APP.
There is a camping toilet (super cool) and a sink in the cabin. There's not currently a shower, which was not a problem for us at all since we only stayed for 2 nights. The host is planning on building an outdoor shower. During the day we went to Caddo Lake state park (1hr away) and if you want there are showers at the park.
The Farm!
I've never been to a farm where all the animals were so friendly and not aggressive. Dan/Jenna have many rescue animals and you can tell that all their animals are very well taken care of. They were all so happy. The animals all have a story and a clever and cute name! It was very fascinating to learn each of their backgrounds during Dan's tour. Personally I am pretty terrified by turkeys, but their turkey is so sweet. If you gobble he will gobble back haha! You can also schedule with Dan to pick your own fresh eggs straight from the coops! There are a variety of different eggs you can pick from. chicken, miniature chicken, quail, and even turkey.
Food!!!
You have the option to order breakfast during your stay and it is TRUELY a farm to table meal. If you are staying here ordering breakfast is an ABSOLUTE MUST! The breakfast is delivered at your desired time in the morning. Dan will set up your spread on the patio! The weather was absolutely perfect when we went, so we sat on the patio with our door open letting the surround sound system serenade to us. (We are thinking about ordering ourselves the same speakers)!
Gina makes everything from scratch and it was all VERY delicious. A couple of things that we have never tried before were turkey eggs and dandelion jelly.
PS. Dan provides the cabin with a Walkie Talkie to communicate with him. How fun is that? Of course you also have the option to text or call him.
