Marilee was very responsive and her cabin was super comfortable. She worked with us to get a permit for a fire. The view from the deck was beautiful. Would stay here again. Nice getaway that isn’t far from denver.

Easily accessible but still had the “out-there” feeling. Cabin as advertised, perfect for a small group. Host provided exceptional communication throughout the process. Considering a trip again next year.

Marilee was a great host! She was quick to communicate. The cabin was exactly what we were looking for in a quick getaway not far from the Front Range. The wood stove heated the place quickly and the accommodations were comfortable. A quite place to relax, read and hike. We plan on returning this year!

Nice little spot to just kick back. The wood burner kept the place toasty even with nighttime lows in the teens. The kitchen is well equipped and the beds comfortable. There's a decent collection of dvds to watch. Plenty of things to do outdoors within a short driving distance.

This place was amazing. Great views and great access to one of a kind hiking and scenery. It gets cold but the fire place heats up quick. Just make sure to bring plenty of wood (we went through about 3 bundles in 2 days- mid October). No water but we brought a filtered jug and ran down to the river twice to refill it. The hostess was kind enough to have propane available to us. We brought dvds to watch a movie at night- they have a pretty big collection available too. Best part was looking at the stars at night so bring warm clothes! And be patient with the doors. It took us a minute to figure out the lock. We have AT&T and the service worked just fine (maybe too good depending on what you’re looking for). I would recommend this to anyone!

Great views from the cabin on this September weekend. This is definitely a glamping experience, so do expect a super tidy and neat cabin. We enjoyed our stay regardless.

I used Marilee's cabin and land as a peaceful solo getaway to unwind and rest, away from a busy typical schedule. It did just that and exceeded my expectations ten fold. The land was gorgeous! So many aspen trees in the front yard to marvel at while also seeing the mountains in the distance. The inside was so cozy and I made a small fire while I was there to warm up from a colder night. It was everything I wanted and more!

What a lovely place to get away from everything! The location is wonderful and close to hiking and the cutest little towns. Enjoy seeing the Milky Way from the deck and stay cozy warm with the wood fire stove. The views of the mountains are spectacular! Marilee is super responsive and always helpful with any questions or concerns you may have. We very much enjoyed our "glamping" weekend at the little red cabin! We will definitely be back!

We loved the beautiful setting and views from the patio. We (fortunately) did not see a bear near house and didn’t want to as we brought our reactive dog. It was very peaceful and quiet at night. We enjoyed a hike on the Colorado trail off Kenosha pass a short 25 min drive away.

Overall the host Marilee was very communicative and quick to answer questions. The cabin seemed more run-down than in the presented photos. Things were in disrepair, the bathroom sink was out of commission and the front door broken so only the back door worked. There were notes explaining these things were broken, but overall the cabin was worse off than what we expected given the photos and the rave reviews. There was a long list of things we were told we needed to bring ourselves, and upon arriving, many of those things were actually in the cabin. Not a huge deal but we wouldn't have made extra supply runs prior to, if it was more accurately depicted. There's an explanation that if you clean the cabin yourself upon check-out you'll receive some of the cleaning fee back, but it wasn't sparkling clean when we arrived, plus it smelled strongly of the wood stove smoke so we had to air out the place. In fairness I'm used to Airbnb, but even for the cheaper price it seemed the expectations on the listing didn't align with the reality.

We really enjoyed this well stocked little cottage in a peaceful, remote location. We were prepared for everything/anything, and we’re pleasantly surprised! The owners did a great job helping us prepare…definitely follow their instructions. Be sure to check out the Twin Eagles trail area…absolutely stunning scenery. We hope to stay again in the future and definitely recommend the cottage.

The little red cottage was perfect for our weekend getaway. The property was beautiful & quiet. We spent most of our time snacking on the patio & relaxing in hammocks we were able to hang in the aspens. The cottage had everything you need to unplug and relax with the extra amenities. We brought a floor fan which was a life saver this time of year.

Sweet little cabin placed on some back roads. Enjoyed having a stove and a bbq on the patio. Definitely had some little bugs but that’s too be expected; unfortunately we saw no dear this time and thankfully no cinna-bear! Small market close by with possible staples, small shop with burgers and ice cream. I definitely recommend bringing your own food and plenty of water. Bring your own linens for extra comfort.

Truly a memorable experience.
Cozy and semi-secluded. Definately off the grid if you're use to city life.
Great view from the deck to an open field, aspens, firepit, and best of all, out in nature 💥
Close to nice hikes in pines, meadows, aspens, mountains,
and streams.
My wife and I had a great anniversary. Driving down curvy, bumpy, dirt roads was awesome to hear her gasp 😀

The little red cabin is so quiet and peaceful! It was exactly what I needed to de-stress for the weekend and come home refreshed and ready to jump back in to regular life. I just wish I could go more often!

A Little Red Cottage in the Woods
This was our 2nd visit Marlee’s little red cottage. We really love it there. Our family finds its very comfortable and it’s very quiet. We tend to not shower and don’t run out of water. But it’s shorter visits. We also had a pop-up camper for a few years so we’re used to conserving water. My whole family always has a good time. It’s a nice break from our daily life!

The cabin is comfortably furnished with everything you need. We loved sitting on the deck looking att the grove of aspens and the views of the snow topped mountain range in the distance. We brought a case of bottled drinking water and 10 gallon in water coolers. For three adults this was needed not only for drinking, but for washing dishes and taking sponge baths when the cabin water ran low. Great little cabin!

This was beyond our expectations! We were looking for something simple and quiet so that we could enjoy the surroundings and really unplug- I was surprised at how many things I had forgotten to bring ! Yet this cozy cabin at all the essentials ! The wood stove made evenings and early mornings perfect! Would recommend to anyone wanting to spend some quality time with nature without having to sleep on the ground or breaking the bank!!
