Plas Issa is a small, peaceful farmstead set in the foothills between Wrexham and Llangollen, where every corner of the land has its own character. Our escapes are designed to give guests space, calm, and a genuine connection to nature, without crowds, noise, or packed‑in pitches.
We offer a handful of meadow tent pitches plus a premium, exclusive motorhome/campervan pitch tucked into a sheltered wooded bank beside the stream. Each area has been shaped by the land itself: open meadows with big skies, quiet hedgerows alive with birds, and a rising ridge that gives panoramic views across the valley.
Our tent pitches sit in a gentle meadow with plenty of room to spread out, relax, and enjoy the scenery. It’s simple, natural camping with easy access and a peaceful atmosphere.
For motorhomes and campervans, Brookwood Bank is our unique one‑pitch escape: a hardstanding spot with exclusive access to the wooded bank and stream. It’s sheltered, quiet, and perfect for guests who want privacy and a more premium, nature‑immersed stay.
Across the farm you’ll find wildlife, walking routes, stargazing opportunities, and a sense of calm that makes people slow down the moment they arrive. We’re adults‑friendly, dog‑friendly, and focused on offering a respectful, low‑impact experience that fits the landscape.
Plas Issa is not a holiday park, it’s a working farmstead with distinct pockets of land, each offering its own escape. Whether you’re here for a quiet night under the stars, a weekend of walking, or a peaceful campervan retreat, you’ll find space to breathe and a warm welcome.

Barn side Meadow is a relaxed, natural overflow meadow beside the main yard, perfect for small groups, 1–3 tents (select those extras), or anyone wanting a quieter corner of the farm. The ground varies across the field, but there are a couple of level areas that can accommodate campervans or roof tents when conditions allow.
It’s an unfussy, open space with easy access to the facilities and lovely views across the farm. Ideal for guests who want a simple, flexible pitch without the frills.

Chestnut Bank

Chestnut Bank is a unique camping area nestled beside a mature chestnut tree, a beautiful feature of Plas Issa that is also often used for wedding ceremonies. The pitch borders our expansive Panoramic Views field, which guests are welcome to explore and enjoy for its glorious views across the valley. A small natural stream runs nearby, with a little bridge providing an easy walk across to our main hub and facilities.
The ground here is firm and level, making it ideal for campervans, roof tents or a single tent wanting a more premium, peaceful spot. The brook and trees create a gentle acoustic buffer, and the pitch sits slightly apart from the main meadows, giving you that “away from it all” feeling while still being only a short walk from the facilities, and the gently stream is delicately flowing in the background.
This is an adult‑only pitch, kept quiet and relaxed for guests who want a slower, more nature‑focused stay. Dogs well behaved allowed please add on checkout as they are extra.

Hedgerow Retreat

Hedgerow Retreat is our more private camping area, tucked away beyond Barnside Meadow and backed by a mature established hedgerow that provides both seclusion and a useful natural windbreak.
At approximately 300 ft long by 30 ft wide, it offers a remarkable amount of space. We normally limit the whole area to just two pitches, making this an ideal choice for guests who value privacy, space and the freedom to spread out rather than being surrounded by other campers.
For larger groups, the two pitches can be combined to create one generous private camping area, with multiple tents and generally up to 10 guests by prior arrangement.
Dogs particularly love Hedgerow Retreat. Subject to the access gate being securely closed, there is plenty of space for dogs to enjoy the area without needing to remain immediately beside your pitch.
The outlook is across open green fields towards the hillside, with the occasional livestock quite possibly becoming part of the view rather than spoiling it!
Hedgerow Retreat sits a little beyond Barnside Meadow, so the main farm facilities are slightly further away. Hipcamp's site map shows the location of the individual camping areas to help guests choose the setting that suits them best.
At certain times of year, we may also be able to arrange a dedicated portable toilet for the exclusive use of your pitch or group, at additional cost. Please enquire before booking if this is something you would particularly value.
Hedgerow Retreat costs a little more than our other camping areas, but that reflects what you're getting: a large, deliberately low-occupancy space where privacy and room to yourself are the whole point.

Guests with dogs are welcome to wander into nearby Barnside Meadow for a little more space, although we simply ask that everyone remains considerate of other guests using the farm.

Panoramic Views

Panoramic Views is something rather special and, without being too modest about it, one of the real highlights of staying at Plas Issa Farm.
Campervans are very welcome at Panoramic Views. Hipcamp may describe vehicle-based camping as “motorhome” camping, but our pitch is particularly suited to campervans and smaller self-contained camping vehicles. The ground is grass and access is via an established farm track, so vehicle access will always be subject to suitable ground and weather conditions.
Set high on the hillside and reached along approximately 300 metres of established farm track, the camping area opens out onto sweeping views across the Dee Valley, towards Chirk and far beyond. It is an wonderfully open and spacious part of the farm, framed by mature trees and with the sort of outlook that invites you to simply stop, sit and take it all in.
For guests who value space, peace and a sense of being away from everything, this is the place we would choose.
Dogs particularly enjoy the amount of open space available here, while campervans can settle in and enjoy their own home comforts with one of the best views on the farm right outside the door.
Panoramic Views is deliberately a little removed from our main hub. The farm facilities are approximately a 10-minute leisurely walk downhill, so guests choosing this area are trading immediate proximity to the facilities for something we think is considerably more memorable: space, seclusion and that view.
Access is via an established rural farm track rather than a surfaced roadway, and suitability can naturally depend on weather and ground conditions.
If waking up somewhere beautiful matters more to you than being right beside the facilities, Panoramic Views is very hard to beat.
