Stowford Manor Farm Campsite

'Good' campsite that promises a lot and delivers plenty but my whole experience was undermined by the simple reality that my field was right next to a busy and noisy road that would have kept me awake but for the necessity of earplugs... And was also disappointed to see the showers clearly hadn't been cleaned in an age given the amount of spiders, moths and dead flies. Shame. The river was lush and the breakfast box was a treat.

Such a relaxed place to go to. Enjoyed the cream tea, yummy homemade scones. Very friendly people, warden was very helpful and approachable. Love the buildings around us, the river and the pitches were flexible. Definitely recommend Sue

What a beautiful campsite! The staff were both friendly and helpful, being surrounded by the old farm buildings was something else entirely. Washing up in a stable made the task almost pleasurable! The river was perfect to swim in with spots to paddle as well as fully swim further along. 10/10

The tent spaces are great. The river is lovely. Our two children were the whole day swimming in the river! They were allowed to use pallets to build their own raft. The tea in the tearoom was delicious.

Perfect Glamping!

Railway Carriage

This is a lovely place to stay. The railway carriage was very comfortable and very well laid out, packing a lot of functionality into a cozy space. The grounds are beautiful and quiet. It’s just a short drive to several must see places like Bath and Avebury henge.

Fantastic weekend of camping

Fantastic location on river frome so can cold water swim, or paddle boarding (short part only). Stowfords is so well laid out...reception is easy and super friendly. Pizza van is perfect (fri/sat 5.30-8pm) lovely pizza. Camping site well laid out.. Big pitches along river, very quiet, lovely group of kids playing all over fields...toilets and hot showers, clean and well maintained...local attractions include public paths along river to Iford or check out Farleigh Hungerford castle with awesome audio tour. On Stowford Farm, there are arts, pottery, glass making studios which had open studio days so interesting to see. Night time is just chilled, with firepits/bbqs lit up and soft chatter amongst happy campers. Definitely be back soon.

Stowford manor excelled my expectations, clean tidy well managed site, quirky showers in the barn, 50p for 8mins which was more then enough time, water lovely and hot, wild swimming was very invigorating, I would definitely recommend stowford manor if your looking for a nice peaceful stay, also they do amazing cream teas

Absolutely wonderful visit. Only booked for one night but will definitely be booking again and for longer Outstandingly beautiful views with the river and greenery- not only were the employees so lovely and welcoming but everyone else staying was as well and I know it's because all felt relaxed, and connected. 100% recommend 100% will be back 100% will be getting the bbq again and next time will try the pizza Amazing!!

Absolutely beautiful! We had pizza on the first night and HAD to go back for more in the second night 😂 next time we will try out the cream tea :) toilets were clean and not too far away. Cannot fault! Will be back again!!

Very nice little site with some nice touches , but traffic noise is very imposing unfortunately. Would expect showers to be free at this price point tbh was a bit shocked to see they were charging on top of hefty nightly charge. Wash block in our field was old and only 2 loos, one of which was waiting to be fixed ( I believe the owners were on to this).

The site was grass pitch only & unfortunately following heavy rain 2 days before, it was long wet grass & muddy getting onto field. A track of some sort along the central length would aid traction & avoid very muddy area. Beautiful near river ( but it was high & flowing fast.) Very busy road even into the night

A hidden gem

A great rustic hideaway not far from Bradford on Avon. We pitched next to the river Frome and outbuilding (which seemed to have a weir, but couldn't see it), which meant we could hear the river cascading 24/7. Plenty of space on the field and facilities were good. Access to local footpaths/bridleways was easy, which was great for countryside walks with the dog :).

Overall an OK experience, slightly disappointed by the level of road noise (not expecting it to be quite so close and loud from the online map of the site) and the diggers in the field over from the river (going on a Sunday morning).

what a lovely campsite. Right on the water front with a lots of rope swings. Nice setting and small enough that it wasn't noisy at night. only downside was there was no proper shop to buy bits in and it is on a fairly fast road so you could hear cars and lorries at night and in the morning. probably the best campsite we've been to in a long time.

Bel emplacement pour camper ! Tranquille, familial et chaleureux. Une rivière pour se baigner, de quoi faire un brasero, et un endroit charmant pour le tea-time . Juste 2 douches mais dans un lieu atypique, propres; et finalement chacun trouve son moment. L’ambiance est vraiment respectueuse

A nice site, lovely hippy vibe and lovely natural place for kids to romp about. Our arrival and greeting was a bit random. They did't have our name and said Hipcamp didn't provide it. We were wafted to a possible place (it was all a bit loose) but not really told what facilities there were or where to find them. No big deal... we found them. But a bit of a more organised 'hello' and settling in would have made us feel more welcome and less lost. The shower are quirky in a stable block. Money needed for the hot water but fair enough and plenty of warm water. The loos are OK but could be more of them for the size of site. When we asked we were advised to get the train to Bath and it worked well. Nice day out. Overall 7/10 I'd say.

Nous sommes restés au terrain tagglemead Sanitaires pas propres et mauvaise odeur dans tout le bloc de douche , 2 toilettes et 2 douches pour beaucoup de personnes Douches payantes ( 50p pour 8 min ) et hors fonction aujourd’hui Bruit de la route +++ Très éloignés des sanitaires car nous étions tout au bout du terrain Cependant il semble que les deux autres terrains soit mieux situés et les sanitaires du site principal sont meilleurs Si je devais y retourner je choisirais le site principal

I camped on the main site. This is such a lovely place to stay. The facilities are very clean. The staff are very helpful and friendly. It is also nice there is a addition of cream tea in the afternoons and pizza on the weekends. It is lovely having the river so close where you can wild swim or get the paddle board out and go for an adventure. There are a couple of towns and villages that are a short drive away so there is always things to do. There is also some lovely countryside walks so if you have a dog (like me) there is a lot of open space for the pup to have an adventure. There is also a local castle that is a 15 min walk away. Only downside is that the camp site is close to the road so it can get a little noisy but the road is generally quite at night. This site can get very busy so it is best to book. And if you are social this is the place for you.

We loved this campsite. Not only was it a beautiful spot but so relaxed too. We will definitely be back! The only thing I would say is whilst the toilet and shower facilities were fairly clean they were quite basic and maybe in need o some modernisation. Saying that it didn’t detract from a lovely relaxing break.
