Set in an utterly breathtaking ancient landscape, your horizons will be vast! Spacious grass pitches with a small nearby carpark and wheelbarrows for transport to keep the camping meadow like a meadow.. and then the Skyline Cabin which has the perfect blend of luxury with back to basics.. The campsite supports the 1000-year-old Chantry Farm in the South Downs National Park on Wolstonbury Hill with 3 listed Bronze Age earthworks. There are some lovely local pubs, the Plough has a great range of food and is a short walk. Ditchling is nearby with real history (see Anne of Cleves house) and some super talented Artist Open Houses in Sept. Brighton and the beach is a short drive or cycle away. The bus service is fine and now includes Sundays so enjoy the city with its quirky independent shops if that's your thing. There's a perfect circular 45 min walk - see our map plus a Zen washing experience guide - welcome to freshly laundered flannels and piping hot water Preservation of this precious chalk grassland with its outrageously abundant summer meadow flowers is a priority for us. See the orchids in July.. Welcome guests who share that appreciation. We also care about food security and planted a top fruit orchard with walnuts and cobnuts too! Nature spontaneously provides blackberries, sloes.. which are shared. The Barn Owl have their own boxes (although they still enjoy the big barn) and skylarks sing high above the tussocky terrain. Come join them! Even if your singing isn't so good.

In an 8 acre field, only 6 individually mown pitches with views of the sun and moon rise. Clean composting loos and washing facilities nearby. Gorgeous Wolstonbury mineral drinking water from the chalk aquifer (good enough to bottle, tested annually) its free to guests and available at the barn. We are a MSDC licensed campsite; inspected annually “The best ever odour-free compost toilets” – Google review again Genuine back-to-nature wash experience uses piping hot water, a dash of complimentary lavender oil, and freshly laundered flannels, chosen from Open-to-Sky washing cubicles or inside, and enjoy the chance to do it differently The carpark is adjacent to the barn, which also provides charging points. Inspired by English cultural history combined with the Zen ‘fetch water carry wood’ approach, wash in one of three private cubicles, two en plein carry hot water from the solar array. We provide fresh flannels and organic soaps. 2 Natsol (nice & clean) composting loos, one with disabled access. No fixed Wi-Fi- be free from constant EMFs. But phone reception is excellent! Accessibility: We do our best to make the site accessible and whilst it is undulating, Pitch 1 is suitable for wheelchairs in dry weather. If you'll need help, please give advance notice of accessibility requirements.

Epic views from a luxe interior high up in our orchard. Enjoy the best of both worlds - a 6 x 3m Sussex wood cabin which can sleep up to 4, with a kitchenette and 'washing lean to' - a unique blend of quality, luxury and attention to detail with rustic charm.. plus a completely private garden area with a cold bath option from the borehole tap for the brave! Here's a google review which says it for us: A wonderful place! I booked for one night and ended up staying for three :) I stayed in the new Skyline Cabin and can't recommend it enough! It's a beautiful space, very cosy and very private, lovely on both a rainy day and a sunny one. The bed is very comfy and it's very well equipped. There's lovely fire pit outside and a hand delivered outside bath for a cold dip if that takes your fancy! The compost loos and rooms for hot bucket washes are great. Lovely wanders right from the doorstep. And so full of nature, lots of beautiful butterflies! Beki the owner is lovely and extremely friendly and helpful e.g. suggesting local walks, places for food, helping out when I ran out of toothpaste etc! It's so much more than a campsite though and visiting is a really special experience. There's a lovely energy about the place and it's a wonderful space to switch off/relax/reconnect. Spacious Tent Pitch in 8 acre field

Well kept site that I found very private and relaxing. Good location close to Brighton. The A23 detracts from the peaceful atmosphere but not so much that it spoils the experience.
