Peaceful Cornish Site, situated a few minutes drive from the A30 at Redruth, with far reaching countryside views. An ideal central base from which to explore Cornwall's mining heritage, beautiful coastline and quaint fishing villages. Dogs are very welcome. Feel at ease on every pitch at Sunset Camping, a quiet and very welcoming family-friendly campsite in central Cornwall. This west-facing spot is well positioned to soak up all-day sunshine and has some truly lovely views over the surrounding area. Here you can watch the sun setting over the sea, take an evening stroll along the coast at Portreath's dog-friendly beach (10 minutes' drive), or relax with your pet (if you've brought one) over an end-of-day barbecue or campfire back at base. As for your days, you won't be short of options to fill them here: this centrally located site is within an hour's drive of most of the Cornish mainland, with top highlights like the Lizard Peninsula, Falmouth, Newquay, St Ives and Padstow all easy to reach. Sunset Camping is in a particularly prime location for walkers and cyclists, close as it is to the protected coastal areas around Godrevy and St Agnes (both 10 minutes), the Coast To Coast Trail and the Great Flat Lode Trail (10 minutes), steeped in attractive country views and Cornish mining history. Redruth (five minutes) is conveniently close to hand too, with pubs, cafés, supermarkets, a cinema and a railway station where you can set off on car-free day trips. Even closer to home are a dog-friendly pub, a discount supermarket and a play park (at North Country) – all of these are within a handy 10-minute stroll. This pitch is for a small (maximum 2 man) tent only, no parking allocation. Should you be bringing a car, this will need to be parked by the main farmhouse and will be charged at the addition car fee of £3.50 per night.

2. XXL Electric hard & grass pitch

A XXL electric pitch. The level pitch measures 160 sq mtrs, it has a 3 meter wide stretch of hard-standing to the left, 15 mtrs long. This pitch is first on the left next to the main site entrance, though hedging creates noise resistance and privacy on all three boundaries. Partly shaded, even in high summer by the large pine trees bordering the road. From this pitch you have beautiful views and can see the sea 4 miles away down the valley at Portreath. 30 meters away from amenities on the lower site level.

Positioned under gorgeous great pine trees creating a part shade pitch through the middle of the day but then in full aspect of the sun come late afternoon and evening. The pitch is alongside the road, there is a dividing fence upon a wall which reaches part way around the side to add noise protection and privacy. Note; There is a manhole cover on this pitch.

This sheltered corner pitch has a sloping gravelled entrance, positioned with hedges on all sides and two gorgeous great pine trees, there is a opening within the hedging to capture the fabulous valley views towards Portreath. The levelled grass area measures 8 by 11 mtrs with more additional grass space under the pine trees. This pitch is unsuitable for caravans or large motorhomes due to accessibility but perfect for Volkswagen T4/5 size vans or tents.

St Ives 16 miles, St Michaels Mount 17.5 miles, The Eden Project 35 miles, Padstow 30 miles. Pub and supermarket only half mile away (walking distance).

Lovely landscaping and nice pitches with grass , shrubs and trees. Everything clean and fresh. Friendly welcome. The name of the camping was well chosen and we had great sunsets all evenings. Good spot to start daytrips in all directions.
