Sky view shepherd's huts offers the opportunity to experience staying in 2 huts which are more spacious than usual shepherd's huts- they sleep up to 6 people across a smaller bedroom hut and a larger living/sleeping hut. There is a wonderful wood burning hot tub included and it is all set in your own private paddock overlooking our herd of Shetland and Jacob sheep. We are situated only 2 miles from the beautiful north Cornish coastal villages of Porthtowan and Portreath- both with excellent walking and cycling routes available. These beaches are brilliant surfing and body boarding spots. We have a bbq, outdoor shower and self composting loo which are completely private to the huts with no other campers around.Sky View Shepherd’s huts offer an off grid experience (solar panels for lights, phone charging and fridge) on our smallholding. The huts are very private, overlooking our flock of sheep on the North Cornish Coast just 2.5 miles from the beaches of Portreath and Porthtowan. The outdoor woodburning hot tub is a wonderful way to relax under the stars. Our outdoor shower has received rave reviews and our self composting loo hidden in the trees is a novelty experience! The bedroom hut means you can sleep separately from the living space if there’s just 2 of you, or for 4 there is a mezzanine style bed (up a ladder). Extra sofa bed for 2 more! Bring a torch and some cash for purchasing extra wood during your stay if required. We are dog friendly and welcome 2 dogs per stay: they must be well behaved and not chase sheep! Dogs must also be kept off the furniture and please bring your own bed for them. The woodburning hot tub takes about 1-3 hours to get up to heat and we can help you get the fire going when we are available. Please take our lane slowly as, like many country roads, it is quite bumpy. (Sorry, we do not own this lane). We supply a starter amount of wood, should you need more it is available to purchase on site or you are welcome to bring in dry wood of your own. Please DO NOT burn wet logs found around the grounds in the burners. This produces a nasty amount of black smoke which causes upset and bother to other people in our countryside. Do not burn coal in any of the wood burners- it can damage them. We ask that you close your curtains in side the huts when it is dark to keep light pollution to the minimum. Quiet music is permitted to be played during waking hours but please be aware that sound travels in the countryside easily and some of our nearish neighbours (whose houses you may not even be able to see) have young children who do not appreciate loud music after 7pm. No music is permitted to be played outside after 10pm. Our Shepherd's Huts are in the field adjacent to our home but cannot be seen from the house so they feel very private. We love hosting our guests and take great pride in creating a relaxing atmosphere for you on our small holding. You'll be able to see our pigs, chickens, goats and sheep on your way to the huts.
