Nature isn't tidy so expect some wilderness when you visit. We manage Great Cotmarsh Farm in a way that helps nature flourish and our small campsite, with panoramic views of the Marlborough Downs, is managed to the same philosophy. Small and quiet, tucked away in the Wiltshire countryside our campsite is arranged around pathways and pitches mown into one of our fields for Spring and Summertime. Bring your own tent to share our little slice of heaven. Sleep under canvas and enjoy the pleasures of campfires and proper outdoor cooking. We have our own delicious 100% pasture fed lamb and beef to buy for hearty evening meals and a pizza oven for your to make the best tasting stonebaked pizzas with bases provided. When you visit you can say hello to our stunning native breed cattle and sheep and explore our wonderful, species diverse pasture. If you are after the kind of holiday where you can have fun outdoors, nourish yourself with delicious food and discover your connection to nature - Great Cotmarsh Farm is the perfect place to come and stay. Whether you're an outdoor adventurer, foodie fanatic or love touring historic homes and gardens, Wiltshire and the surrounding area has tons on offer and we will provide you with a welcome pack full of useful information. If you want to keep your stay super local, there are footpaths leading off the farm into local meadows and up onto the Marlborough Downs, including access up onto the White Horse Trail. Within walking or quick cycling distance of the farm is the fantastic Broad Town Brewery and Hop Garden where you can enjoy locally brewed ales and street food vendors at the weekends.We want our small campsite to offer the kind of holiday where you can discover your connection to nature. We have four tent pitches, approximately 8m x 8m, ready for you to rock up to pitch your own camping gear. Washhouse Our four camping pitches share one of our off grid wash-houses. Discover natural products infused with essential oils, which will invigorate your senses, whilst you enjoy an outdoor hot shower under a beautiful brass soaking shower head. There is an earth-friendly compost toilet and an additional vanity basin area. Field Kitchen We have a field kitchen with a wood-fired oven. You can cook beautiful pizzas and we can sell you delicious sourdough pizza bases to make the process tasty and simple. There are cast iron pans available to for slow roasting meat, vegetables, curries, lasagnes and even to bake bread. Campfires We think that campfires are an important part of the camping experience so each camping pitch comes with a fire box, which make an ideal fire pit for safe wood-fired campfires. Fantastic for toasting marshmallows or simply to gather around whilst enjoying your evening outdoors. Greener Camping Club We operate as a Greener Camping Club members-only campsite. Membership costs £12 and gives you access to over 145 beautiful, eco-friendly campsites across England and Wales. It also includes participation in the Club's 'Trees for Life' scheme, whereby a tree is planted for every new member. When you book a tipi holiday with us, you will be automatically enrolled as a member of the Club. We’ll issue your membership e-card upon receipt of your holiday payment. When you book a stay in your own tent, you will need to sign up through us. If you are already a Greener Camping Club member, please forward your membership email so that you are not joined up twice.

Great little site with only a few pitches so you can really enjoy some peace and the beauty of the local area! The pizza oven and individual fire pits were a great bonus. Fantastic host who was super responsive and helpful.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Cotmarsh Farm ran by Katie and her family, and it was an absolutely wonderful experience. The campsite is beautifully maintained, with clean and well-organized facilities that made our stay incredibly comfortable. The natural surroundings are stunning, offering a peaceful and serene atmosphere that is perfect for unwinding and connecting with nature. The neighbours were friendly. I especially appreciated the well-marked trails and the variety of activities available, which catered to both adventure seekers and those looking for a more relaxed stay. Overall, it exceeded all our expectations despite the cold and windy weather and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable outdoor getaway.

I enjoyed 2 nights at this lovely campsite. Pitches are well spaced apart and give you plenty of space, and sitting around my own camp fire in the evening was very chilled. (2nd night I had the whole field to myself) The facilities were excellent and the hot shower is always a welcome bonus. The owners were readily available if you needed anything. We would definitely come back again. Thanks for letting us stay

We had a wonderful stay at Katie’s farm. There were four pitches and two tipis, lots of space in the beautiful meadow and excellent facilities for washing up, having a shower and using the compost loo. Great communication and we had a lovely visit to see the cows this morning with Katie’s family. We will be back soon!

We had a great time spending the bank holiday weekend at the Great Cotmarsh farm campsite. Katie was a lovely host, super kind and accommodating. The campsite was quiet, with nice clean facilities. We really enjoyed trying our hand at making pizzas in the field kitchen, and highly recommend trying their stakes on the bbq. The local brewery is definitely worth a visit too! All in all, we had a 10/10 experience.

We loved camping on Katie’s land. The view was just adorable. Specially Sunset! We camped for two nights and Katie was always there if we needed any help. Toilets and showers was so clean and tidy. Also I would definitely recommend to try lamb and beef burgers made by Great Cotmarsh Farm. It was absolutely delicious. We had double portions. We will definitely come back again. Katie and James have a lovely farm. The facilities are all brand new. It's a very peaceful place. The tent pitches are separated sufficiently for privacy. A great experience, we will be back.

Beautiful Sioux Style Tipi

Luxury tipi with hillside views

My experience at the Great Cotmarsh Farm's Sioux style Tipi surpassed all expectations. These tipis, introduced in July 2023, blend artistic flair and comfort seamlessly, resulting in a wonderful getaway. Within each tipi, the layout features a super-kingsize bed, two single trundles, and two single futon which is perfect for families or groups of friends. The dining area, complete with a table and chairs, is well-equipped with essential culinary tools, including a camping stove and ice box. We made use of the private deck playing games and lounging on the chairs while watching the cows in the distance. The Santa Maria Grill was perfect for our BBQ and we had cozy fire pit session after gazing at the stars. The farm's commitment to eco-conscious practices is evident throughout, there is a shared off-grid washhouse with a composting toilet and I loved using the outdoor shower. There is a beautiful wood-fired pizza oven with beautiful views of the farm. The host was so lovely and helpful, I highly recommend staying for yourself.
