Not Quite the “Earth Camp” We Hoped
A beautiful area, but sadly this camp was a big disappointment. While it labels itself eco-friendly, it felt more like that meant “economical” for the owners. The site is on a steep slope, so level pitches are few, especially for campervans. The best pitches are in the woods—but inaccessible due to the terrain .
Toilets and showers were far too few for the number of campers, and the compost toilets were honestly the worst we’ve come across—no sawdust, just a pit of waste, loo roll, flies, and a terrible smell. We’ve stayed at many true eco sites, and this doesn’t compare.
The “fairy garden” was more laughable than magical and nothing like the website depicts.
We also witnessed children regularly urinating in nearby bushes. We reported it to the owner, who did nothing. These weren’t just toddlers either—just lazy parenting and a lack of site oversight.
On paper, this camp promises a lot. In reality, it felt like a poorly maintained site using the eco-label as an excuse for low standards. We left disappointed and won’t return.
