Llandyfan Camping

Our beautiful home is a glamping and camping site with its own gorgeous fishing lake on the outskirts of the village of Llandyfan. You can find us to the west of the Brecon Beacons or Bannau Brycheiniog National Park.

Llandyfan Campsite has been lovingly re-established in early 2024 by Andy and Jo. Since taking ownership, we have rolled up our sleeves and got stuck into restoring it to its former glory and will soon be back to being a fully operational slice of Welsh heaven.

Our first focus has been the fishing lake which we opened in March. The campsite followed in May. We are currently working on electric hook ups and other improvements.

We have chickens on site that roam free during the day. They are friendly and like to wander around the tents to say hello to our guests!

We would like everyone who visits to have a great time and a relaxing break. Whilst here please be considerate towards others, to their property, and while using the facilities. If you have any concerns, please let us know.

We have brought out a few rules from our T&Cs and we kindly ask that you have a read through before your stay.

Litter:

You must pick up your litter. Please either take it with you or recycle it appropriately in the bins onsite. There are bins around the campsite, please recycle where possible.  

Pitches to be left as you found them.

Noise:

Be respectful and consider your neighbours. Keep noise to a minimum after 10pm and before 8am in the morning. 

No loud music is to be played at any time.

Children:

Children must be supervised at all times around the campsite and can play within the pitch space allocated to you. At quiet times, it may be possible for children to use vacant pitches for play but this cannot be guaranteed. The amenity block and associated facilities are not to be used as a play area. 

Dogs:

Must not to be left unattended. 

Are to be kept on leads at all times whilst on the campsite. (We are working on an enclosed dog walking area, however this is not yet available).

Lampeter Caravan and Camping

Peaceful, simple site just five minutes’ drive from pubs and shops.

Visiting the offspring at the University of Wales Trinity Saint David? Or just longing for a quiet motorhome break with a back-to-nature vibe on level grass pitches? Either way, Lampeter Caravan and Camping makes a more-than-handy base. This small, family-run site has spectacular views over the Ceredigion Hills at Maesypwll and is five minutes’ drive from the Lampeter campus.

While you’re in Lampeter, pick up food supplies from the supermarkets in Lampeter, or if cooking is off the schedule (this is your holiday after all) there are pubs, fish and chip shops and takeaways galore for you to choose your supper from.

Set on a working farm, the pitches have easy access from the main A475, giving you good connections with the coast at Aberaeron (25 minutes’ drive) or the indie shops of Carmarthen (40 minutes).

Simple on-site facilities include a shower and loo block, plus recycling and waste-water disposal. With just a handful of pitches, there is loads of room for kids to let off steam safely and have a run around with (well-behaved) dogs.

Valley of the Cool Trees

Tucked deep in the heart of the South Wales forests, Valley of the Cool Trees is a private, off-grid group campsite set within a 1.5-acre wildflower meadow on our 19-acre smallholding. Here, you are truly immersed in nature. No roads, no traffic, no other people in sight, just the gentle sounds of birdsong and the whisper of the forest around you.

The meadow offers generous space for tents, a small number of campervans, and touring caravans, with room for communal areas and group activities, all while feeling open, relaxed, and uncrowded. By day, enjoy sweeping valley views, and by night, the lack of light pollution makes it easy to spot the Milky Way overhead, creating a rare, unforgettable experience.

Facilities are all within easy walking distance and include multiple compost toilets (4 total), a solar-powered outdoor hot shower, an outdoor field kitchen, BBQ, and fire pit. For wetter weather or evening gatherings, the 50-foot sheltered polytunnel provides a cozy space to relax, chill, and stay dry. It also features an additional indoor kitchen for extra cooking space, as well as a projector for films and plug sockets for charging phones or small devices, perfect for combining comfort with nature.

The site is fully off-grid, with filtered spring water, solar-powered electricity, and fires for warmth and cooking. Everything is designed to keep the experience simple, low-impact, and deeply connected to the surrounding forest.

Valley of the Cool Trees operates seasonally from April to October and is ideal for groups seeking privacy, space, and a truly rare immersion in nature, a place to escape, unwind, and enjoy a wildflower meadow in the heart of the forest.

Finnant Wood Wild Camping

Near Carmarthen, South Wales.
A compact and accessible wood with a balance of commercial crops, mature broadleaves, and recent planting, it is set in a sheltered location overlooking the Towy Valley with stunning views.
Ffinnant Wood is a mixed woodland, partly commercial and partly broadleaf, with a steep-sided broadleaved valley, Cym yr Abbey, a Site of Special Scientific Interest. The wood designations include restored ancient woodland and plantations on ancient woodlands. The SSSI designation arises as this is one of few localities in South Wales that has yielded well-preserved trilobite fossil specimens.
The wood comprises a stand of mature mixed Sitka spruce and Douglas fir. These trees have been managed to put on height and volume. The area of recent (2021) coniferous clear felling and some nearby thinning yielded approximately 1,800m3, approximately 635 tonnes/ hectare, showing that this is a productive site. Following harvesting, these areas were replanted with 50/50 Sitka spruce/Douglas fir and a Sm edge of broadleaves adjacent to the B4300. It has been weeded and is growing well. A small area (c. 0.4 hectares, see map) remains to be replanted with 960 trees (Sitka spruce, 90%, oak, 5%, mixed broadleaves, 5%). 
RIGHTS OF WAY
There are no footpaths on the property. This gives the wood an extra element of privacy.
DIRECTIONS
Drive east on the B4300 from Carmarthen. After 4 miles, you will pass the turn-off for the B4310. Keep on the B4300; after 800m, Ffinnant Wood is on your right-hand side, rising up the slope. There are two points of vehicular access to the wood from the B4300. For viewing, as the B4300 straightens, pull over to the right and park adjacent to the metal double gates, from there you can enter the woodland on foot.  You can also enter the site through the smaller wooden gate c.l00m west.
