What a gorgeous place! The perfect place for a calm refuge to reset and re-enter life restored.
Lovely kind hosts, beautiful views and walks straight from the roundhouse enjoyed by us and our cat Blue. Absolutely magical.
Such a comfortable bed, cosy lights, cooking supplies, folk takes - all you would need. Can't thank you enough!

The chicken hut was very cosy and also had all the mod cons. The view was lovely and the location was great base to explore north wales. We had a tour of the farm and it was clear how much the owners care about the animals.

Cedar cabin was absolutely immaculate it was nice and cozy on a hill which gave it the best view! The lake is incredibly stunning and filled with fish! My son also went fishing there and sadly had his fishing rod pulled in by a fish but the next morning the host went and found it. The host was so kind and welcoming 5/5 stars would highly recommend!

Wonderful bespoke cabin with lots of charm. It’s handmade and beautiful, and really clean and comfy! We loved our stay. The bath was a huge treat. The water from the spring was delicious. We found amazing walks in the area- long and fabulous views and woodland. We loved Daphne’s in Prestiegne- delicious supper. Highly recommend - the children (10 and 7) loved the bedroom in rafters. A real gem!

We had an excellent stay at the round house. The location is incredibly serene with gorgeous views. The building is beautiful and has been furnished with great attention to detail. The bed is really cosy, the hot shower is great and the cooking area is well equipped. Meg and Benjamin were very attentive hosts and we would warmly recommend a stay here.

It was a fabulous secluded spot which was what we were looking for. The accommodation had basic facilities but were perfectly adequate. There was a great main area with toilets, showers, TV and pool table. Lots of great walks around. Fabulous spot for a weekend get away

5 nights at Magical Roundhouse or Train Wagon
We had a wonderful few nights. A great play to relax and loved the fact that it's so tucked away with so many walks straight out the door. A bonus was seeing the odd supersonic jet emerge at tree level at the end of the Mach Loop. Don't worry, these were a spectacle, not an irritation. Peace and serenity assured here and some wonderful beaches a short car ride away. Recommended!

A beautiful & enchanting place. Perfect to disconnect and reconnect with nature. The roundhouse itself is truly magical set in an almost mythical location. Will return and definitely recommend for those looking to tune out.

3 nights at wildwood quarry retreat
We stayed in the Oak cabin. Both cabins are pretty identical. Absolutely fantastic stay with an amazing location and stunning views. Unfortunately we didn't have the best weather but that was ok because we had all the facilities we needed to cook, clean and relax.
Super easy access to nearby towns if wanting to venture off to find stuff to do.
The outdoor bath was a really nice touch as well. Felt so relived and stress free not having to think about the daily grind for a few nights.
Couldn't recommend Wildwood Quarry Retreat enough!!

Amazing lodges, our family had Kites Nest and Barn Owl Lodge and they were perfect for our group size, including a toddler and elderly woman! They were comfortable and gorgeous. Interiors and views were stunning, I couldn't believe the sunsets at night, the hot tubs were such a treat and both lodges had fantastic seating areas on the deck, we went on the steam railway and enjoyed a BBQ at the lodge. Would love to come back next year.

We stayed in Epynt and had a lovely couple of days.
It was basic but very comfortable and had everything we needed. Double bed was very comfortable and the kids liked staying on the bunkbeds.
The view from the balcony was beautiful, especially at sun set.
We found it warm enough so didn’t need to use the log burner.
The communal kitchen was great and the games room was a very welcome addition.

Me and my family had a wonderful time at the roundhouse it was so peaceful waking up with the birds in the morning and being surrounded by nature. We spend lot's of time outdoors by the fireplace.

Snowdon & Around
One of the UK’s most popular outdoor destinations—and Britain’s highest land south of the Scottish Highlands—Snowdon commands attention from any North Wales-bound visitor. The gateway village, from where trails and rails run up the peak, is Llanberis, eight miles inland from Caernarfon. While it’s busy up Snowdon, plot a hike away from it and you’ll find glorious mountain country with ample trail space to yourself.
Southern Anglesey
Anglesey is Wales’ largest island, and its beguiling sandy coastline is a big attraction for beach-lovers, swimmers and walkers—with a coast path running around the entire shore. It’s accessed by road bridge over the Menai Strait eight miles northeast of Caernarfon. After this, it’s a few miles’ drive southwest to the campsites clustered near Southern Anglesey’s beach, the wide, powdery, forest-backed sands of Traeth Llanddwyn.
Llyn Peninsula
Travel the coast south from Caernarfon and after 11 miles, the low-lying Llyn Peninsula and its AONB begin to fan out. This tranquil green finger of land, protruding some 30 miles into the sea, has some of North Wales’ best beaches and famously challenging surfing at Porth Neigwl. Walking is excellent too—as is cycling on the quiet lanes. Excellent campsites lie scattered across the Llyn.
When to go
Weather varies wildly between the coast and the high peaks of Snowdonia National Park. You can usually depend on some wind and rain during your stay, even in summer. Caernarfon does get crowded during July and August school holidays: come outside these months if possible. May’s Caernarfon Food Festival, and mediaeval re-enactments in Caernarfon Castle during May and August, are atmospheric times in Caernarfon itself.
