3 nights at Over-the-Moon Luxury Shepherds Hut

Have already recommended this place to friends. We had a lovely stay in the sunshine. The hut is has everything you need in a compact but unsquashy space. Enjoyed some fine walks and a super day out in Ruthin. We'd also recommend the Red Lion for a visit. Ruth & Jude were both very helpful and welcoming. I'm sure we'll come back.

I had a wonderful stay in this charming shepherd’s hut nestled in a peaceful meadow. The hut was beautifully equipped with everything I needed for a comfortable and cozy getaway. The surrounding area was lovely, with fruit to pick and plenty of space for the dogs, who absolutely loved it! The hosts were fabulous—friendly, helpful, and welcoming. I couldn’t have asked for more. Highly recommend this little gem for a relaxing countryside retreat.

This was such a quiet, lovely location! It was near to one of the access points for Glyndwr’s Way so we were able to hike a nice section of the trail. Clean facilities and super easy to find with responsive, friendly hosts - a good spot to unwind! The field for tent pitches was enclosed and we actually had the place to ourselves so our dogs could wander without worry - really enjoyed our stay here.

Very clean and tidy and great facilities for showering and washing up. Hot drink machine and freezer and microwave for guest use. Near to Llanbedrog beach - 10 minute walk down hill also a car park near the beach if you don’t fancy the walk

A fairly small camp ground with a beautiful big barn containing couches, TV, table, fridge, water and home like showers and toilets. Outside the barn there was a picnic table and a hut further along with a fire place that you could sit around and cook food. I did get a bit lost on my way there but the hosts were able to sort me out. When I did arrive they showed me around the place and explained where everything was and how it all worked. I shared the camp ground with only one other person and had a very pleasant time, so maybe consider booking during the quieter times of the week.

Well equipped and in a beautiful setting, it even had wild deer roaming around the grounds which was very special to see. We took a trip to Barmouth which was close by and a hike up to Arthog waterfalls. Would highly recommend.

Weekend Trip to Gwerniago Camping Site

The campsite was really easy to find and had gorgeous views. It was nice and spacious so we didn’t on top of other families. It was very windy but would be the time of year. The toilets and shower block is clean and a nice washing up facility for dishes. There are fridges available to use and taps near the non electric pitches too. We also used a fire pit which was great to end our visit. We would like to come back as it’s close to lots of great hikes and bike parks!

Weekend Trip to Bolmynydd Camping Park

Fantastic campsite in a really great location. The site itself was lovely kept and facilities exceptionally clean - by far the best facilities we have come across yet. We arrived late so rang the number as requested and the lady was helpful regardless of the awkward late check-in. She did mention I should have received my pitch number pre arrival, which I had but didn’t realise as it was sent from the campsite itself and not through the booking agent, Hipcamp - something to look out for if you’re planning a stay. The beach was a 10 minute walk down a lovely lane, easily done with my small children. The beach itself is beautiful and had a lovely little bar/restaurant which sold Vegan ice cream which was a bonus for a plant based family!! They don’t sell fire wood/kindling onsite but the garage down the road sells it. Worth picking some up en route. We really enjoyed our stay and would love to return in the future, thanks so much :)

Weekend Trip to Over-the-Moon Luxury Shepherds Hut

This was our second stay at the shepherd’s hut and it was just as great as the first. It’s a lovely, peaceful spot and really well looked after. We also tried the eggs from their hens this time – they were delicious!

Weekend Trip to Bolmynydd Camping Park

Very clean and well kept site. Great views of surrounding mountains and only a 5 minute drive to abersoch town. Pitches are spacious and are clearly separated by hedges. I would highly recommend this place it’s one of the nicest we’ve stayed at. We only had a brief chat with the owners on arrival as we got there late but they were helpful and seemed like nice people.

It was a beautiful setting. The convenience of the supermarket and Starbucks just up the lane were very handy. And we braved it walking to Dolgellau with 1 pram, 2 toddlers and no pavement - not for the faint hearted!!
