A fantastic place to camp. The facilities were great the welcome was lovely and the views amazing. Will definitely be back for a longer stay. Linda and hubby were very helpful and made sure we had everything we needed. The facilities were clean and modern. The directions were clear and easy to follow. We enjoyed the fire pit and listening to the owls late into the evening. Will recommend to anyone looking to visit the area, and the eggs were delicious too.

This campsite is fantastic. We attend once a year in November. It has a somewhere to park, compost toilet and the great outdoors. The owner is a perfect gentleman. Always helpful, happy and accommodating.
We will be back next year. Thank you!

White Peak Camping is such a beautiful and peaceful spot — absolutely loved our stay. The campsite is perfectly situated with easy access to stunning walks all around. The toilets were decent and clean, and the little phone-charging points are such a thoughtful touch if you need them. We also really appreciated the free fire pits, which made the evenings super cosy.
The owner, Janice, was great and very communicative, and her son Matt even came to check on us to make sure we didn’t get stuck with our van after the storm the night before. Really lovely people.
One thing to note is that they place strong emphasis on keeping noise down — no loud music at all — which we actually loved, because it made the whole place incredibly quiet, calm, and relaxing.
Highly recommend White Peak Camping if you’re looking for a beautiful, peaceful countryside escape. Thanks, Antje and Jay

Weekend Trip to Magical Roundhouse or Train Wagon
What a gorgeous place! The perfect place for a calm refuge to reset and re-enter life restored.
Lovely kind hosts, beautiful views and walks straight from the roundhouse enjoyed by us and our cat Blue. Absolutely magical.
Such a comfortable bed, cosy lights, cooking supplies, folk takes - all you would need. Can't thank you enough!

We have just come back from a campervan 2 night trip to Panpwnton Campsite. We had a lovely time, it was very quiet as we were the only ones staying…. Probably due to the weather!
This meant we got a great spot right next to the river which was perfect.
The facilities were good. The location was great. We did a walk straight from the site on to part of Offa Dykes path and along to the Knuclas viaduct, great views along the way. We had thought we might get the train back just for fun, but they don’t run very often (would have been a 2hr wait) so walked back instead.
Site also easy walking distance to the local pub for an evening meal which was good too.
Very Dark walk back that evening meant for some great star gazing:-)

I literally never write reviews for anything even when I triple promise I will but this place is just that awesome. It's got all the essentials so makes it comfortable (even on a stormy Oct night first time camping alone with my daughter!) But not too much that you feel like you're cheating- the whole point for me was for it to feel challenging, hey you survived that dear daughter you can do anything (without her dying from exposure). The toilets were nicer and cleaner than all weatherspoons loos, 2 charging ports for phones and a sink, lots of bins for rubbish and a gorgeous site with beautiful views (& a cute little swing). The views of the peak district were just stunning on the way down too. Janice was amazing - she walked down to us in the pouring rain (after a full day's work) to check we had everything! We'll definitely be back again, possibly when it's a bit warmer

A lovely rural quiet place to stay. Fantastic views and lovely walks right on the doorstep.
Beautiful rural quiet spot with fabulous views. Great value for money. Would 100% definitely recommend. A nice touch was the picnic benches and a tree swing.
The toilets were extremely clean and fully flushable with running water and hand soap/handtowel.

Great spot, I was the only camper. Hiked 10km with my dog, put my tent up, cooked evening meal on my trangia on one of the wooden tables that are there, could have walked say 10 minutes to the pub but couldn’t be arsed, so just sat quietly with the dog enjoying the peace and quiet! Toilets are clean and there’s a cold water sink for washing up which is also v clean. Met the farmer on the way in, very pleasant chap. Great place! Hiked back to my car this morning. Lovely break from work!

The best great views campsites near Abergele guide
Where to go
North Wales Coast
Long, sandy beaches spread west and east from Abergele, covering much of the North Wales coast. Most campers come to sample the seaside charms, as the easily accessible shoreline, connected via railway, is studded with promenades, theme parks, and big resorts like Colwyn Bay and Rhyl. Caravan and camping sites can be found everywhere, although Colwyn Bay and Rhyl have the most choice outside Abergele. The Wales Coast Path passes through for hikers, while Prestatyn, nine miles northeast of Abergele, is the Offa’s Dyke Path trailhead.
Dyffryn Conwy
Coiling south of Conwy along to Betws-y-Coed and accessible from Llansanffraid Glan Conwy is Dyffryn Conwy, the verdant valley cut by the River Conwy. This wood-carpeted area sports excellent campsites in Caerhun and Trefriw, while Snowdonia (Eyri) National Park’s peaks dominate off to the west. Active highlights include scenic walking, the world’s only artificial lagoon surfing at Adventure Parc Snowdonia, and woodland adrenaline rushes at Zip World Fforest, from ziplines to an alpine rollercoaster.
Clwydian Range
Seven miles southeast of Abergele lies Britain’s second-smallest city, St Asaph. It’s set on the doorstep of the stunning Clwydian Range of hills, where bald AONB-protected uplands offer long-distance hiking along the Offa’s Dyke Path and panoramas all the way to Snowdonia. The western side of the hills has the best camping.
When to go
For seaside campers, April through September generally yields the sunniest beach weather. Rain and strong winds, however, can still be in the cards at this time. July and August make up the school summer holiday season, making the coast very busy, while August and September see seawater temperatures at their warmest. Big local events worth pitching up for include the Rhuddlan Food Festival in May and Rhyl’s K-fest music festival in August.
