The view you wake up to is breathtaking! The pods themselves are immaculate and stocked with everything you need. You have your own private bathroom which is heated and again immaculately clean. Lovely and quiet!

Absolutely stunning location - you worry when you arrive as it’s a really popular tourist attraction but the car park empties out and it’s very peaceful. Nice walk along the loch side or a boat ride on the loch plus good cafe

The pods were clean, comfortable, spacious and well equipped. Unfortunately the fly screen for our door was broken so it was a choice of being gnawed on by midges or being very hot- we chose the heat which was a bit uncomfortable but a fan had been provided which helped. The views were incredible of the loch and mountains and the walking and cycling just stunning. It's a little public with it being next to the main path but if you aren't looking for seclusion then it's fine and we found it vibrant and interesting watching the boats and people coming and going. The food in the cafe was excellent and we enjoyed the take away option, it does close fairly early so best to get there before 5:15pm. All in all it was a beautiful spot and very good accommodation and we had a brilliant time.

It was amazing! The view of the surrounding fells and farms was so tranquil and peaceful. Andrew was a friendly and helpful host. The property was beautiful and there was a good community of campers there that socialized over breakfast. There were also trails on the property that we didn't get to. I would definitely recommend this campsite to anyone that is going to Scotland

Very friendly staff. Easy to find. Great facilities. Lovely walks right at back of premises.
Only downside for me was the noise off other campers. People turning up and setting stuff up after 10 pm. Also loud group of lads. But I’m use to wild camping so maybe noise would be acceptable for most.

From the minute we arrived Anne was welcoming and gave us all the information to do with the lodge, the lodge itself was spotless and felt homely from the minute we walked in. Anne also left a welcome pack which was an added bonus, the hot tub was ready on arrival and Anne also shown us how to use this before leaving
Anne gave us recommendations on places to visit and where we could go for days out, we were recommended the milk barn which was delicious, the ice cream and milkshakes were perfect!
We would also recommend going there!

When to go
From April to September is the best time to visit to see woodland wildlife, fishing ospreys and the rich wetlands of Endrick Mouth as they burst with flowers and insects. In the fall you can see wintering geese arriving from Greenland and Iceland, as well as other waterfowl; come winter you’ll see thousands of geese roosting on the reserve. Spring brings a brightly colored carpet of wildflowers and plentiful birdlife.
Know before you go
- The Inchcailloch campsite is open only from March through September.
- There is a ranger service on Inchcailloch, which offers guided walks.
- Due to the deer population, ticks are present in the reserve. Long pants and sleeves are recommended.
- The weather can be changeable, even in summer. Warm, waterproof clothing and sturdy footwear are recommended.
