Nearly wild camping with spectacular views? Stars and Moor in Bodmin Moor National Landscape certainly has views in spades – right to the distant south coast in fact – and what’s more, there are just a handful of off-grid camping pitches on site, all spread out across two acres of pasture surrounded by Cornish walling.
We are a Greener Camping Members Site. To Join is £12.00 for the remainder of the year if you are not already a member. You can join when you arrive. We accept credit cards on site.
All the pitches are on grass and you can pick your preferred spot on arrival. Vehicles are parked in a designated area, from which your gear is transported to the pitches in a wheelbarrow.
Facilities in the converted horse trailer include hot showers and fully plumbed loos, and there’s ample hot water to make your alfresco washing up less of a chore – but please do note there’s no electricity on site.
On-site entertainment is all about the views, which you can appreciate while cooking on your firepit – hire one on site, complete with a supply of firewood. The skies on cloudless nights are a glittering marvel that you can share with family and friends while cosying up around the fire.
Pack walking boots for yomps on Bodmin Moor footpaths from your tent, and bring bikes for cycling on moorland tracks or canoes for adventures out on Siblyback Lake.
Local amenities are a short stroll away in the village of Minions (20 minutes’ walk), where there’s a well-stocked shop and the highest tea room in Cornwall. Heading in the opposite direction are two pubs within 15 minutes’ walk.

We had such a wonderful two-night stay at Elm Farm with two friends and our two dogs. The location was absolutely perfect, just a short drive to lots of beautiful beaches, with Porthtowan being a real highlight for us as it brought back childhood memories of visiting.
The facilities at Elm Farm were excellent and made our stay really comfortable. The hosts were so welcoming and attentive, and they went out of their way to give us loads of great recommendations for places to explore nearby.
One of the best surprises was discovering their café on the bike hire side, the food was absolutely amazing and not to be missed!
We couldn’t have asked for a better base for our trip. We’d definitely recommend Elm Farm to anyone looking for a relaxing stay in a fantastic location, and we’ll certainly be returning.

We had a great stay at Elm farm which is in a fantastic location to go surfing and to explore the coastline and local beaches.

I was greatly impressed by this wonderful camping field which stretches high up to give the most stunning views.
The facilities were lovely and clean and great hot water for the showers and the washing up area.
I walked down to Saunton Sands then round back to Braunton and to the campsite! Great adventure. Richard was very friendly and came around in the day.
I will definitely be back as great location

Lovely, peaceful spot. Camped in the field with electrics and had a huge pitch and glorious view. Our dog loved morning walks investigating all the tall grass. We enjoyed the pubs in Little Haven and Broad Haven was great to stock up on groceries. A gorgeous walk along the coast to Nolton Haven to the pub there for lunch. Walked a different beach every day, all within 30 minutes drive.

We we're impressed by the lovely place and the warm welcome. We drove by bicycles and found profound help for tours and further planning. The sanitary concept convinced us because of its sustainability. We can recommend Elm Farm at all!

Lovely location, great electric pitches well spaced out and good to see owners allocate space for the visitor and to not try to cram in loads of pitches.
My partner wasn't keen on the shared toilet and shower block (she prefers individual sex utilities) and given how many people may be on the site at anyone time (think school holidays) only 3 showers and toilets could be a problem.
The only problem we had was that the persons on the pitch next to us had 5 or 6 large dogs, quite aggressive and constantly barking when you walked past. On the first day we walked past with our jack russell 3 of them came running out being aggressive and pushed over our dog, luckily they didn't bite but it did sour the first day of the holiday. Having spoke to the owner we got the usual 'oh there normally friendly' response, no apology - they didn't seem friendly when people walked past them always barking aggressively.
We appreciate being able to take our dog camping and know this isn't really the fault of the site owners, just a shame that some dog owners behave like this (I think 6 large dogs on a camp site is pushing it a bit).

Fabulous location within walking distance of St Davids town (10mins) and the beach (15mins). A small to medium-sized campsite for campervans, tents, motor homes etc which means that all pitches are close to the showers, toilets and washing up facilities - all of which were very clean and good. Beautiful views out to sea. Dog-friendly.

A gem of a campsite if you like things nice and simple. The showers and loos were spotless, and the owners extremely helpful with lots of information available about making the most of the area.
The Wi-Fi didn’t work for me in the field, but this wasn’t an issue. It was good to tune out!

Perfect little campsite. Lovely setting and fields were sheltered. Hired bikes and cycled the trails. Safe and good for old and young. Went to the beach 10 mins away. Hot showers and simple but clean facilities. Cafe was sweet with nice stock from local breweries for cheeky sundowner. Highly recommend. Thank you.

Fabulous beautifully maintained little site on the edge of the yellow gorse covered moor which I had to myself. Distant views to the coast and a short stroll to really interesting Neolithic sites, the landscape dotted with the ruins of the mining industry which made Cornwall so important in centuries past.
Really friendly, helpful owners and I will be going back to explore further.
Fridge, freezer, socket for charging phones, fire pits even hot water for washing up.
