Stowford Manor Farm Campsite

51 units · Glamping, Motorhomes, Tents25 acres · Trowbridge, England
We are a family run farm situated in the beautiful Frome valley. The farm has a range of interests from the traditional Jersey milking cows to a community of workshops used by local craftsmen. The cafe serves cream teas from Easter to the end of September and pizzas are sold in evenings during the summer months. Ours is a small family run camp site with the River Frome on one side, next to the medieval buildings of Stowford Farm. The river is suitable for fishing, boating, swimming and paddling. Historic Bradford-on-Avon is only a 5 minute drive and the City of Bath 15 minutes. For those who enjoy more rural pleasures, 200 metres from the campsite Farleigh Hungerford boasts the only river swimming club in the country, and you can become an instant member for a very small fee.

Luxury cabins near Henley-on-Thames guide

Overview

Nestled along the River Thames, Henley-on-Thames is a gateway to some of England’s most iconic landscapes. Venture out on River Thames in a boat rental, visit the River and Rowing Museum, and then set up at cedar glamping cabins in town that overlook a nearby lake. Just beyond the town’s borders, Chilterns AONB offers a trip into nature with wooded valleys, ancient trails, and riverside campsites for tents and caravans. To the southeast, Windsor Great Park sprawls across avenues and boasts a royal legacy. Stay near the king and queen at pet-friendly campsites in the area. Farther west, the Cotswolds offer quintessential English villages, drystone walls, and rolling countryside. Then stay in a glamping pod or luxury lodge to enjoy the area in comfort and style.

Where to go

Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty

Dive into a haven of biodiversity and serenity in the Chiltern Hills. Cycle Chilterns Cycleway or wander walking paths through beech woodlands and ancient pathways to experience this AONB’s panoramic views of its rare landscape made up of dramatic chalk escarpment. Nature enthusiasts can also look forward to spotting red kites circling overhead as well as rare species like the glow-worm. For a hike into the past, explore Ridgeway—an ancient track that snakes through the Chilterns. Nearby riverside campsites on the Thames cater to tents and caravans, boasting amenities such as electrical hookups, sanitary facilities, and wifi access as well as caravan holiday home rentals.

Windsor Great Park

Windsor Great Park has a sprawling landscape full of gardens, woodlands, and lakes, like Cow Pond. Campers can hike Long Walk, created by King Charles II, leading to Windsor Castle or explore Savill Garden, showcasing a beautifully curated collection of plants from around the world. After a day of exploration at Adventure Play for kids or on Queen Anne’s Ride or Virginia Water walks, retire to nearby pet-friendly campsites that provide both tent and caravan accommodations as well as clean washrooms, electric hookups, and laundry facilities.

The Cotswolds

Step into a landscape painted with honey-coloured stone villages and rolling hills in the Cotswolds. From scenic drives to leisurely strolls in villages like Bourton-on-the-Water and Stow-on-the-Wold, the Cotswolds offers a unique English countryside experience. The area is dotted with campsites that merge seamlessly into the landscape, offering facilities like tent and caravan pitches, fresh water supplies, and waste disposal points. Campers can also stay in a unique glamping accommodation like a lodge at Cotswold Farm Park with a wood-fired hot tub or a dog-friendly glamping pod in Moreton.
