The space is really beautiful and the views are great. It has very basic amenities but it’s the kind of place I like. Being next door to the animals was also a great and entertaining bonus. It’s a short walk to the local village entirely down forest paths if you wish, with a fantastic pub.
It’s a particularly nice place to stay out of season when the autumn colours settle in.

Lovely site to do real camping with a proper fire, not in a tiny square pitch hemmed in on all sides by other people. The owner was very welcoming and if it all goes wrong, there’s a pub a short walk away. This wasn’t our first visit and we will come back again.

We had a lovely overnight stop here! We don’t live too far away, but it’s a lovely and peaceful campsite to enjoy some time outdoors. The facilities were kept very clean and tidy! The host came to greet us and checked we had everything we needed. We booked to stay the next weekend we enjoyed so much!

As you elevate yourself to one of the highest points in the area you are greeted with the campsite. Friendly staff, flexible plots and a very rustic vibe. Lots of space and all vehicles are kept away from the camping plots. If you are for a bit of adventure, with great views and heard of alpacas you will love it!

We loved Spring Hill Camping, really just the relaxed simplicity that we look for in a campsite. Nice scrubby meadow with loads of wildlife, there were red kites flying regularly over the field and there was a resident hare that we saw in the evenings. Beautiful view, just what we needed.
We really liked the compost toilets, maybe needed a little tlc but thought the colours were cute and were glad 'who gives a crap' tp was used! We had an issue with a large gang of men camping right next to us and being noisy til 1am (basically whole rest field was empty). Would maybe have appreciated a check with that kind of group that they were camping a little distance from family tents. But tbh we didn't actually let Nicholas know at the time, as we didn't get back to the field til 9 it felt too late to do anything. Also perhaps a little pricey considering it's very basic.
Other than those few points, we absolutely loved our stay at Spring Hill, and would happily come again. Our 4 year old daughter absolutely loved it, and we really enjoyed the company of the llamas (or alpacas?) Thank you so much!

Fantastic Woodland camping spots and site.
Fantasticly friendly and approachable hosts with great onsite facilities, produce to buy, fire pits to hire, composting toilets, hot showers and wash up station for campers.
A working farm with lots of animals to be near and can watch feeding times.
We had a lovely peaceful stay and will return again for sure.

I loved spending time on Nick's land, so peaceful with a stunning view across the hills. Added bonus of spotting my first ever glow-worms among the long grasses!! It was magical. Nick was very helpful and accommodating. The facilities are basic but absolutely fine, you can shower for free at Chieveley Services up the road if you need to! Great that all pitches have fire pits so no extra charge for hiring a raised pit, just cost of firewood very reasonable £5 bucket which did me for 2 fires. Only recommendation is bring a bag of kindling, I didn't realise there wasn't enough smaller stuff in the bucket to get big logs going so was a bit of a test for my bushcraft skills but got there eventually 😄

What an amazing place with beautiful views. Really enjoyed all of it. The ammenties, the service and the place. Had BBQ's, enjoyed some ciders both in the room and next door at the bar and just relaxed. If you have a chance to stay here, do it. Thank you.

I loved my stay, could have easily stopped a few more nights. I loved that the site was small, and camping in the woods reminded me of wild camping in Scotland last year, but with the security of a site. The hosts were lovely and I'll definitely be back again soon.

Really nice spot, not too far from London. Facilities are basic but as expected. St Mary's Bourne is a super nice village only a few minutes walk away, pub drink and pizza are 👌
