Tranquility and magnificent landscape, this is our camping at the gates of the beautiful and historic city of Amarante. We would like it to be a great starting point for getting to know our beautiful region. Here are some suggestions for planning your trip. We are located 10 minutes from the main node of national motorways that can take you to Porto, Guimarães, Braga, Vila Real, Lamego, Bragança, Chaves and many other cities of great historical and tourist interest. You may use direct public transport for some of them. Amarante is our city. Small, with a rich historical center, crossed by the river Tâmega, cradle of the conventual sweets and center of a unique wine region, the Vinho Verde region. And because we talk about wine, of course you can not miss the region of the Douro Valley, a landscape treasure that is the origin of the Port. If you are nature lovers I have two suggestions of national parks: Gerês and Alvão. And, of course, the mountainous set that will be here in front, in the landscape of the terrace: the Marão. But we will have an opportunity to talk about all this. See you later!

Quinta de Volte a Fonte

5. Quinta de Volte a Fonte

1 unit · Glamping ·
Olá! Welcome to my beautiful spot in the middle of nature. Where crickets and frogs and birds make their voices heard. My name is Annemieke and I bought this land in May 2023 to start a self-sustaining off-grid life, in the middle of Portuguese nature. On the land there are olive trees, cork trees, lots of lavender, broom, a variety of flowers and plants, wonderful enjoyment! The lovely (warm) outside shower and (compost) toilet are available, and we will soon start building the indoor and outdoor kitchen. There is already a temporary outdoor kitchen, minimal, but workable. You can cook and wash dishes there. Although the facilities are not yet completely complete, it is already nice camping for people who are self-sufficient. About 10 minutes from my quinta is the beautiful lake near Póvoa de Rio the Moinhos, where you can cool off and swim, canoe and fish. A 2-minute drive from here is a natural fountain, for lovely fresh spring water to fill your tank. Only 8 minutes away is the Intermarché with a place to throw away the grey water. I can guarantee that you can completely come to yourself here. Whether you want to be on your own, or are looking for some company, you can be who you are here. The atmosphere is open and friendly, you can relax in nature and there is plenty to do in the area. The mountains are an hour's drive away, where you can take beautiful walks. Castelo Branco is less than fifteen minutes away, with nice restaurants and cafes, and supermarkets My land is still a kind of blank canvas. I have many nice ideas, but I also really enjoy hearing other people's ideas. I have a few cozy places to sit with a beautiful view, but I still want to make pergolas (with natural foliage), plant fruit trees, make a pond, create a vegetable garden, cozy places, domes, all sorts of things. If you fancy camping in nature, come over, we would love to welcome you! Sometimes Google Maps wants to send you down a dead end road, don't do this. Then drive a little further towards Cafede. At the intersection of the road where you have to drive to my hatchery, there is a very large Agave plant. If you see it, you can take that road, then drive all the way to the end, the road will automatically lead you to the right place. See you soon!

Olívia vintage trailer

11. Olívia vintage trailer

1 unit · Glamping ·
Olívia is a 1970s Digue Amorette caravan. Carefully restored by Gonçalo and Nuno from Seiva Atelier, who found the perfect spot for it at Casa Fluxus in Castelo de Vide. They joined Ana and little Ravi in taking care of this gem of pure nature. A comfortable and private trailer turned into a tiny house next to a massive cork oak. Immerse yourself in the raw nature of Alentejo under the most incredible night skies. It’s a place of tranquility and peace, with so much to explore around. Olívia accommodates two adults on a sofa bed with a comfortable mattress topper. It can also accommodate a child (bed length of 1.5 meters). Olívia doesn’t currently have WiFi, but we’re working on it. For now, WiFi is available in the main house and communal kitchen area. If you’d like, we can provide a bed for your pet. Olívia is an experience of simplicty and closeness to nature. We believe in disconencting to reconnect, but if it is needed there is WiFi is available at the main house, Casa Fluxus. There is no indoor shower. There’s an outdoor shower next to Olívia (not heated) and a mobile shower near Casa Fluxus (heated). There’s a graphic manual for Olívia so you can discover all its secrets and features. Casa Fluxus Casa Fluxus encompasses two hectares of beautiful wild land, teeming with biodiversity. Just 1.5 km from the poetic village of Castelo de Vide, this natural space allows you to spend a few days in simplicity, merging with the ecosystem. We kindly ask that you use only organic hygiene products. We are a non-smoking space. There’s a communal kitchen area with dining space, although it’s optional in this case since meals can be prepared and enjoyed in Olívia with all the convenience. There’s a compost toilet—a simple way to transform waste into life. Outdoor showers, cozy nooks, a pond, and two hectares of raw nature await exploration! Casa Fluxus magnetizes artists, creators, alchemists, and transformers together in a magical cauldron, seeking better ways to become enhanced versions of our humanity. We are conscious of our co-creation of experience, aiming for cooperative and sustainable systems. Ana and little Ravi live in the estate, in the main house (Casa Fluxus), with Sol a dog. As stewards of a diverse ecosystem, this small Portuguese family shares raw and wild nature with those who desire it. Bright stars and birdsong abound. Here, you’ll find pure nature—a place to enjoy tranquility. There can be other guest staying at Casa Fluxus (which offers space for parking caravans and to camp with your own tent), yet Olívia and the outside surrounding it are very private. Thank you for supporting this space of Collaborative Culture with your stay. Nearby There’s a laundry service in the village, right next to the local producers’ market. The market opens every Friday with fresh vegetables, fruits, and traditional cheeses. There are several restaurants, caffés, supermarkets, bars and small shops in Castelo de Vide (we can recommend a few fantastic places)! A walking path to Marvão starts directly from the estate. Around Castelo de Vide, there are many beautiful places like lakes, waterfalls, forest and points of historic and geological interest.
