My name is Annemieke and I bought this land in May 2023 to start a self-sustaining off-grid life, in the middle of Portuguese nature. On the land there are olive trees, cork trees, lots of lavender, broom, a variety of flowers and plants, wonderful enjoyment! The lovely (warm) outside shower and (compost) toilet are available, and we will soon start building the indoor and outdoor kitchen. There is already a temporary outdoor kitchen, minimal, but workable. You can cook and wash dishes there. Although the facilities are not yet completely complete, it is already nice camping for people who are self-sufficient.
About 10 minutes from my quinta is the beautiful lake near Póvoa de Rio the Moinhos, where you can cool off and swim, canoe and fish.
A 2-minute drive from here is a natural fountain, for lovely fresh spring water to fill your tank. Only 8 minutes away is the Intermarché with a place to throw away the grey water.
I can guarantee that you can completely come to yourself here. Whether you want to be on your own, or are looking for some company, you can be who you are here. The atmosphere is open and friendly, you can relax in nature and there is plenty to do in the area. The mountains are an hour's drive away, where you can take beautiful walks.
Castelo Branco is less than fifteen minutes away, with nice restaurants and cafes, and supermarkets
My land is still a kind of blank canvas. I have many nice ideas, but I also really enjoy hearing other people's ideas. I have a few cozy places to sit with a beautiful view, but I still want to make pergolas (with natural foliage), plant fruit trees, make a pond, create a vegetable garden, cozy places, domes, all sorts of things.
If you fancy camping in nature, come over, we would love to welcome you! Sometimes Google Maps wants to send you down a dead end road, don't do this. Then drive a little further towards Cafede. At the intersection of the road where you have to drive to my hatchery, there is a very large Agave plant. If you see it, you can take that road, then drive all the way to the end, the road will automatically lead you to the right place. See you soon!
