Camping near Antibes guide

Where to go

Eastern Riviera & Monaco

East of Antibes, the coastal Corniche winds its way along the Côte d'Azur all the way to Monaco and Monte Carlo. Stop off at the French Riviera capital of Nice to walk the Promenade des Anglais and browse the Flower Market, visit the hilltop towns of Eze and Menton, then check into a caravan park or rent a mobile home by one of the many beaches.

Verdon Natural Regional Park

Northwest of Antibes, the vast Verdon Gorge is Europe’s largest canyon and sits at the meeting point of the Var and Alpes de Haute Provence departments. With soaring canyons, glittering lakes, and lavender-blanketed plateaus, it’s a natural playground for adventurers. Enjoy boat cruises and water sports on the Lake of Sainte Croix, explore miles of hiking and mountain biking trails, or get your adrenaline-fix canyoning, paragliding, or white-water rafting.

West French Riviera

The western French Riviera has plenty of choices for a camping holiday, whether you’re checking into a 4-star campsite with a swimming pool and private beach access or parking your motorhome at a quiet family campsite. Glamorous Cannes and St Tropez are the star attractions or head to the beach towns of Fréjus and Sainte-Maxime for a more laid-back vibe.

When to go

Summer temperatures soar over 30°C along the French Riviera, and the balmy weather pulls in the crowds, especially in July and August. Time your visit to Antibes Juan-les-Pins for the annual Jazz à Juan Festival in July, or dodge the crowds—and the high season prices—by visiting in late spring or early fall. Camping season runs from April through October, but winter campers will still find a few campgrounds that stay open year-round.
