A small family and pet friendly glamping and camping site that offers you a memorable holiday in Mérignac in the Charente-Maritime region of France.Merignac is only 10 minutes from the N10 highway, a peaceful village making an ideal holiday destination or just a 1 night stop over if heading south or north. Situated approximately 1 hour north of Bordeaux Airport and 1 hour from the west coast resort of Royan. The village is one of the communes in the ”Haute Saintonge”, a former historical province that has many old churches and examples of Roman art. It is a land of plains and hillsides rich in agriculture, viticulture with windmills to be seen in many areas, in one of the sunniest regions of south west France. Bellevues Glamping is a stunning site of an acre, with breathtaking views across the valley, typically surrounded by grapevines and sunflower crops. There is a 10 metre x 5 metre in-ground swimming pool for the whole family to enjoy a swim, ideal to cool off on those hot days. Plenty of grass for the children to run around and enjoy games. Beautiful views from pitches of grapevines and rolling countryside. After dark, gaze at the starry skies and catch a glimpse of shooting stars.It is a magical spot that Richard and Linda fell in love with in 2021, having relocated to France in 2020. The campsite re-opened in May 2023, welcoming guests who have all expressed how wonderful the site is and that they will return. It is such an idyllic place, book your visit with us, we look forward to welcoming you soon.

Set on a former vineyard, 20 minutes from Bergerac and 5 minutes from the quiet village of Saint-Germain-et-Mons, we offer a quiet escape with wide-open views over the Périgord countryside and Monbazillac.
Glamping, our way
Glamping is a form of camping, but at Home Sweet Lodge, GL stands for Grand Luxe: a comfortable, warm and relaxed way to enjoy your holiday.
Privacy and space
Only five luxury safari tents are spread across 8,500 m² of grounds, so you'll enjoy plenty of privacy, space and silence. Each tent is 50 m² including its terrace, and the view from every one of them is breathtaking.
Arrive and relax
Beds are made on arrival and towels are provided. Wifi and parking are free. Just bring your suitcase and your appetite for holiday.
Your hosts
We're Audrey and Sébastien. We live nearby and are always happy to help with local tips, answer questions or simply have a chat. From time to time we open our little bar, where guests can meet over a drink and a snack.
The safari tents
Each tent sleeps up to 5 people and offers:
A fully equipped kitchen: dishwasher, induction hob, fridge-freezer, microwave, Nespresso machine, blender and all the usual appliances
Cutlery, plates, cups and glasses for 5 people
A dining area and a sitting area
A bathroom with a spacious rain shower, sink and toilet
One bedroom with a double bed, and one with single and bunk beds

Our tents are named after the grape varieties once grown here: Chardonnay, Grenache, Merlot, Sancerre and Sauvignon. Sauvignon is wheelchair accessible thanks to its location, step-free access and layout.
The swimming pool
Our outdoor pool is heated, so you can enjoy it in early and late season as well as in summer. There are plenty of sunbeds and parasols around it, and the pool is fenced so young children can't enter unaccompanied.
Sports and games
There's always something to do, for young and old: a pétanque court, football field, basketball, table tennis, swings, a playhouse, trampoline, croquet, badminton sets and more.

A lovely, quiet site and just as described. Linda and Richard are perfect hosts - extremely welcoming and friendly, while letting you get on and enjoy your holiday. The bell tent, horse box and kitchen were all spotlessly clean and very well equipped and maintained. The beds very comfortable and the tent spacious. We were very comfortable and happy there. Notably Linda and Richard took extra steps to make sure we were comfortable ahead of a particularly heavy storm. The steps were unnecessary in the end, the tent more than able to keep us dry and cosy during a night of heavy, heavy rain. But the precautionary steps they took spoke of Linda and Peter being thoughtful hosts.

Beautiful location, fabulous campsite and wonderful hosts! Thank you for a lovely few days! Tents were very comfortable and well equipped. Having fresh bread delivered in the morning made it even more special. The pool was a hit with kids as was the badminton net! Would definitely come back.

We had an absolutely fantastic stay on Caral’s campsite. Really relaxed atmosphere which was just what we were looking for. Pool was clean and inviting during the hot weather and food and drinks available were very good. We hope to stay again when in the area and would recommend to anyone looking to explore this area.

We had an amazing stay in the Auvergne Naturelle. Kathryn and Robert are fantastic, warm, open people, and the place is just magic, hidden in Auvergne's wild nature but also with many options to do on the spot and a bit further around. I got so involved in making a wooden spoon from an apple tree branch that I am planning to continue the new woodworking hobby after the holidays, thanks to Rob. Moreover, we had a lot of great interactions with other guests - in some magic way, a lot of interesting and nice people get there:). Our 6-year-old son also had a lot of fun, especially with making a bow and swimming in their natural pool. Other details that made my days there: fresh breakfasts with delicious, the most buttery croissants I have ever had, starry nights, morning showers in the rising sun, comfortable and huge bed, campfire every night. I am just grateful I have found this place!

A perfectly idyllic and peaceful campsite. Located within a stunning location with beautiful views, our bell tent was beautiful furnished. The en-suite horsebox and kitchen tent were superb, everything we could possibly need had been thought of. The swimming pool was heaven, which our two children loved! Nothing was too much trouble and they went out of their way to make our stay the best. We are planning on returning next year and I can’t wait.

The campsite is set in a shady valley with plenty of shaded plots and some sunny ones too. There is a pool and children’s play area also a block of toilets, showers and washing facilities. Perfectly positioned for walkers, cyclists and site seers alike. Our dog was welcome too!
