In the center of Steep Rock, just 250 m from the lake, you can set up a tent, or camper, with electrical and water access, just a 3 minute walk from the lake. There's a shady bonfire location in the bush with hammocks, access to a BBQ, on site kayak rentals, coffee, ice cream, cold drinks and other conveniences. And plenty of free parking. Accessible without driving down dusty gravel roads. Portable toilet on site. I had trouble uploading photos, otherwise I'd have better ones.

I loved the, what felt like a “hideout” for the tent camping. Pete was amazing, offered help for everything. Not to mention the kayak rental was only 12! I almost don’t want to share, will be going back for sure!

Location location location = 5 stars! Minutes to all the Steep Rock sites (trails, cliffs, beach) and minutes to the gorgeous limestone rock quarry with its blue water & amazing trails. Peter was such a wonderful accommodating host...eager to help us with every little thing we may need - such a nice guy!

It is a nice location close everything is close by. Pete gave us directions and had no issues finding the place. Pete met us and gave us a couple options for where we could set up. It is close to the boat launch, beach and the old quarry. We enjoyed our stay and Pete is a good host. We will be going back to stay again.

My husband and I had a great time at Pete’s Place. Peter was fantastic! When we arrived, he showed us around his property and let us choose the spot that we would like to park our camper and set up our tent. If we needed anything, he had it on hand. No matter how busy he was, and man was he busy, between checking in guests at his numerous airbnbs, cleaning, running kayaks, paddle boards & life jackets back and forth from his shop to the water, and everything else he had on the go, he still always made time to check in on us. He answered any questions we had and gave suggestions of where to go and what to see and also made sure to warn us of the abundance of poison ivy. He was also great with our dog, who’s quite protective and can be a little extra at times. We can’t recommend Pete’s Place enough. Definitely a 10/10 experience.

We loved it and had an awesome weekend. It was rustic camping kinda vibe . Peter the host was very accommodating, he was there and greeted us when we got to the campsite and showed us around and made us pick which spot we wanted , he’s very nice and always checked on us and making sure we’re ok. Our kids had a great time kayaking , swimming and visiting the goat island. Peter has different kind of water toys so you won’t get bored . We will for sure come back.

This property have so much to offer ! There were multiple places for us to choose from to pitch our tent as well as clean bathroom facilities / has a freezer on site for the campers ! We loved it. The hammock area is so dreamy and it's perfect to relax. The property is super close to the beach and it's easy to access.
But what impacted us the most was Peter ! He went above and beyond for us. He even helped us with a car issue the morning we left, he's an incredible host. We got to meet his goat, chickens and even his Dad. He showed us all around his property and there was so much to see / do! We loved every minute.
