Highland Cow Farm

1. Highland Cow Farm

7km from Saskatoon Island Provincial Park · 1 site
Escape to the simplicity of the outdoors with a cozy stay in our small glamping pod. Nestled beside open pastures with grazing Highland cows, a hay field, and tree-lined horizons, this is the perfect spot to unwind and reconnect with nature. Just 20 minutes from the city, it's an easy way to step away from the hustle and bustle while still staying close to everything. The pod offers the essentials for a comfortable camping experience: a double bed for a restful night's sleep and a flush toilet for convenience. Outside, you'll find a sink and a small BBQ for preparing meals under the open sky. If you'd rather not cook, local favorite Lil Ava's Pizza delivers right to your pod. You can also take a short drive to the Philip J. Currie Dinosaur Museum and enjoy a meal at the Café on 43. Please note: this is a true camping experience. It's designed for guests who want the charm of camping without the tent and without the noise of a campground. A cooler will be provided to keep food and drinks cold, and bedding is included. What to Know Before You Book The pod is located on a fully operational farm, so from time to time you may hear tractors and other equipment in use. The pod is supplied by our well water, which is safe to drink. However, it may have a slightly different taste than municipal water, so we provide bottled drinking water for your convenience. • Adults only, unless prior arrangements have been made with the owners. • No pets permitted. • Current fire ban in effect. • Do not enter any cattle paddocks unless accompanied by the owners.

Here's a handy site to go glamping. If you are into fishing or boating, there are suitable lakes within a few miles. Places to quad or hike are also available. At Spruce Hill Campsite, there are quiet alcoves for your camper, van, or tent to be set up. An outhouse is available, but bring a flashlight. Pets, and of course, children, are welcome. Leashes for your dogs are recommended. If you bring a non-motorized boat, beautiful Swan Lake is just 12 miles away and is perfect for fishing or paddling. In the mood for a snack? Stop by the nearby Crooked Creek Store and treat yourself to one of its wildly popular donuts.

Twirlie Girlie's Woodland Retreat

3. Twirlie Girlie's Woodland Retreat

73km from Saskatoon Island Provincial Park · 3 sites · Tents, RVs, Lodging
Twirlie Girlie's Woodland Retreat Welcome to our remodeled school bus, or bring your own tent if you prefer. Please bring your own bedding as well. Swan Lake is only about 12 miles away and is the perfect place for non-motorized boats to enjoy the peace and beauty of quiet waters. I personally love watching the sun go down while floating on the lake. Twirlie Girlie, our Poodle-Havanese mix, will be happy to welcome you if you'd like to meet her. She is popular with the neighbours' big dogs and alternately tolerates or teases the cats, but she isn't acquainted with small dogs. P.S. Crooked Creek's famous donuts are nearby—very nearby!
