We are a young family just starting out, we have 40 acres within walking distance to the lake with a nice little forest (currently we are working on an easy access through the trees but if you enjoy foraging this might fit perfectly!)
We are very open to helping set up activities or anything you may need. We have grown up in the area and know it very well and hope you enjoy your time!
The campsites are fairly private, but still close to all of the amenities that we offer.
We have recently added a 10 minute nature walk through the trees, this will include locations to sit and rest, as well as the ability to get some shade while soaking in all sounds and beauty of your surroundings.
Lac Ste. Anne is only a 15-minute drive from our property where you can enjoy swimming, hiking, biking, and so much more!
Please be mindful we are a farm, our animals are friendly but we ask that you respect the fences. Children are asked to stay on the cut grass unless accompanied by an adult (we have a pond and other various safety hazards).

At The River is a boutique riverside nature retreat nestled on a 100-acre private nature sanctuary in wild Alberta, just 1.5 hours northwest of Edmonton.
With private access to the Freeman River just 30 metres from the cabin, you'll enjoy your own peaceful stretch of riverfront complete with a natural swimming hole, a stone and pebble shoreline, and a sandy island in the middle of the river. Spend your days swimming, floating the current, exploring the shoreline, or simply relaxing by the water. As evening falls, gather around the riverside campfire (firewood provided!) and soak in the golden sunset before a sky full of stars and if you're lucky, northern lights.
Wake up to the sound of the river, birdsong, and the wind moving through the trees. Beyond the river, explore forest trails, wetlands, scenic viewpoints, and abundant wildlife. Deer, beavers, bald eagles, owls, and countless songbirds are common visitors, while moose, bears, coyotes, cougars and other native wildlife also call this sanctuary home.
The cozy cabin comfortably sleeps up to four adults and features one king bedroom, one queen bedroom, a fireplace, propane stove, and a private outdoor washhouse with a hot shower, sink, and toilet. 2 toddler mattress are available upon request. Although our family home is located approximately 300 metres away on the hill, the cabin enjoys its own peaceful riverside setting immersed in nature.

humble AND comfortable, with great indoor and outdoor spaces.
I have been an organic market gardener for 25 years and now am downsizing the farm to welcome visitors to experience the Land, cabins and event space here.
I enjoy creating cozy, welcoming spaces that invite you to slow down, breathe deeply, relax, explore outdoors or stay in and recharge.
The buildings are not new but they are well cared for. The outside and inside areas are clean and tidy, while also showing their age and good use…just like those of us who live here :D
The well water is plentiful, potable and very rich in minerals. It leaves orange staining and a white residue where the water sits (think toilet/shower/sinks). It is cleaned thoroughly.
I provide bottles of reverse osmosis water in all cabins for drinking and to use in kettles/coffee makers.
Shared full kitchen/washroom with shower available, walking trails (bush trails), screened shared gazebo, hammocks and picnic tables.
Now with a pool! (subject to conditions).
Separately, the ‘Beaver lodge’ and Camping sites are located down river on 5 acres of mowed grassland next to 10 acres of wetland. Room for multiple mobile campers.
‘Rustic’ sites. Bottled water. No power.
Beaver lodge has sleeping (foam mattresses) for 4, camping stove, kettle, frypan, 2 chairs/table).

Weekend Trip to At The River — Secluded Cabin
Nice greeting and info upon arrival. Easy directions and property location. Cabin feels private and is a nice distance from other property. The river is so close you can hear it constantly. Beautiful view. Quiet and peaceful. Lots of firewood, and the firepit is large and is easy to get going. A good selection of seating options. Has a rustic feel, but still comfortable. The wash-house with shower and toilet, was extremely clean and well maintained. Barrhead is close enough, but Fort Assi' is only 10 mins away. A solid little selection of small town amenities. I would definitely come back. The stars at night were mind-blowing, and even saw the northern lights for a brief time. Well maintained property. Thanks for having us. Cheers till next time.

Weekend Trip to Nature Alive Adventures and Camping
My husband and I were looking forward to a nice little break from the city and this was the perfect place to relax and unwind. Our only regret is that we did not stay long enough! Stayed in the Rest Nest and it was so comfortable and had everything one could need. Loved the hot tub and the lovely nature that surrounded us. Dale and Colleen were wonderful hosts and Sully the cat was great company! We will definitely be back.

I have used HipCamp a few times now but this trip was intended to be something special. A trip for me and my two young boys while my Mrs and daughter went on their beach holiday. We planned to go fishing and then to a campsite to overnight and hopefully see the stars and make some core memories. This lived up to it and more.
First to the location. This is located in the Boreal forest and when I say in I mean right inside of it. Besides the drive there being breath taking (we saw a bear on the side of the road and loads of wildlife) the drive into the site was fantastic. There is a beautiful shared space for camp fires right next to the hot tub and shower areas as you arrive.
Our host Dale and his wife were fantastic. They showed us to the cabin which looked like something out of a movie. It was right next to a scenic pond. We brought some of the fish we caught and Dale provided us with some plates and cutlery and helped us with some water.
As we got settled in and finished dinner we had a lovely walk around the site and the boys came across a mink that had a run in with the cat. They had their own little animal rescue experience and returned it to the wild. That night we were expecting rain and so we knew we wouldn’t see any stars which was disappointing given how dark it was. We were instead blessed with a lightning and thunder show which we took in from the comfort of the hot tub. All in all we had an amazing experience. Hoping to return fall/winter

Our stay at Nature Alive Adventures was absolutely wonderful.
The property is beautiful and peaceful, with an abundance of wildlife that made every day feel like a true nature experience. Whether relaxing on the grounds or simply enjoying the scenery, there was always something to appreciate.
The hot tub was fantastic, and the shower facilities were spotless, modern, and very well maintained. After a day of exploring, it was the perfect place to unwind.
Our cabin was beautifully appointed, cozy, and thoughtfully equipped. The bed was exceptionally comfortable—one of the best sleeps we've had while traveling.
What truly made the experience special were the hosts, Dale and Colleen. They were warm, welcoming, and genuinely cared about ensuring guests had a memorable stay.
If you're looking for a peaceful getaway surrounded by nature, comfort, and outstanding hospitality, I highly recommend Nature Alive Adventures. We can't wait to return!

We visited this place hoping to enjoy some quiet time away from the city, and it truly exceeded our expectations. It checked all the boxes—peaceful, surrounded by nature, and exactly the kind of escape we were looking for. The nature around is stunning, and we truly enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere. The host was incredibly kind and made us feel right at home.

My friend & I had an amazing time at Dale & Colleen's. They are wonderful hosts - friendly, helpful and there were so many more great amenities than we expected or read about. The property is expansive and is well maintained. Our cabin and washroom was so clean and there were many added touches such as body wash, soap and towels. The cats were very friendly and sweet - we loved them! Beds were very comfortable and cozy. Too many awesome things to list!! We'll be back again without a doubt.

Nice rustic little farmstead camping spot. The listing and recent review pictures didn't match what we experienced - we had a very rustic spot in the forest by a dilapidated shed/building - but we had a lovely evening regardless, made by Walter and Emma who were delightful company and we felt safe with them guarding the area! Firewood ready on arrival was great.

Very nice spot for farm style camping. Host and family are very kind and non-intrusive. Happy to tell you about the farm and animals. Animals are all very nice, kids had a wonderful time seeing the farm animals, learning about them from the hosts children and interacting with them.
Would HIGHLY recommend this place for a young child's first camping trip, as the farm animals and paths around them offer plenty of excitement.
There are multiple camp spots, so if you wanted more privacy I am sure the hosts could accommodate that too.
Am sure we will be back next year.
