Our property is located in the heart of the boreal forest with plenty of birds, trees, peace and quiet. We have a mix of open spaces, walking trails, wetland discovery zones and dense forest, both on site and surrounding our land. We are near good fishing and swimming lakes and close to the Athabasca and Freeman Rivers. Our property is rated Class II on the Alberta Dark Skies Map.
We welcome all campers, whether you are a newbie or a seasoned explorer of all outdoor places and spaces.

A working Horse and Cattle Ranch that raises grass fed/ grass finished beef with regenerative agriculture practices, our motto is "Raised Naturally". With rolling pastures, wooded trails and a 12 acre wetland you can spend time with the horses, walk the pastures and learn about regenerative agriculture, get up close to our herd of cattle, or go birding and attempt to locate the over 40 bird species on the ranch. Located just west of Lessard Lake the boat launch for fishing, canoeing, paddleboarding or any other water activity is less that 5 minutes from the Ranch. We are a young family just starting out, we have 40 acres within walking distance to the lake with a nice little forest (currently we are working on an easy access through the trees but if you enjoy foraging this might fit perfectly!)
We are very open to helping set up activities or anything you may need. We have grown up in the area and know it very well and hope you enjoy your time!
The campsites are fairly private, but still close to all of the amenities that we offer.
We have recently added a 10 minute nature walk through the trees, this will include locations to sit and rest, as well as the ability to get some shade while soaking in all sounds and beauty of your surroundings.
Lac Ste. Anne is only a 15-minute drive from our property where you can enjoy swimming, hiking, biking, and so much more!
Please be mindful we are a farm, our animals are friendly but we ask that you respect the fences. Children are asked to stay on the cut grass unless accompanied by an adult (we have a pond and other various safety hazards).

Our group of ladies absolutely loved our stay with Dale and Coleen. Incredibly kind, accommodating and experts of the beautiful land they are blessed with.
The chatter of coyotes, the slap of a beaver tail, the wind blowing through the trees. Sounds that sooth the soul and reconnect you with the land. Truly refreshing. We look forward to our next visits!!

We visited this place hoping to enjoy some quiet time away from the city, and it truly exceeded our expectations. It checked all the boxes—peaceful, surrounded by nature, and exactly the kind of escape we were looking for. The cabin was warm, comfortable, and well-equipped with all the necessary amenities and utensils.
The service was outstanding. The owner came to greet us with a warm welcome and provided helpful information to ensure our stay was as comfortable as possible.

We had the best stay here. Dale was an amazing host who always made sure we had everything and even offered to help plow us out if we got stuck on our way out. The cabin is beautiful, the stove is warm, and our nature walks were awesome. We even got to snuggle Sully the cat during our stay. We will definitely be back!

Our stay at this cabin was absolutely wonderful! 😍The place felt so cozy and welcoming — everything was spotless and thoughtfully prepared. You can tell how much love and care went into every little detail.🥹😍
The nature around is stunning, and we truly enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere. The host was incredibly kind and made us feel right at home.
We were especially touched by the little treats — the marshmallows and cookies were such a sweet surprise (and so delicious!). Thank you also for the oatmeal — it made our morning breakfast perfect.🫣

Magical. It’s the only word to describe what Adam has created at Sky Hound Ranch. He’s developed a welcoming space full of intention, purpose and gratitude. It’s calming and exciting. My friend & I had an amazing time at Dale & Colleen's. They are wonderful hosts - friendly, helpful and there were so many more great amenities than we expected or read about. The property is expansive and is well maintained. Our cabin and washroom was so clean and there were many added touches such as body wash, soap and towels. The cats were very friendly and sweet - we loved them! Beds were very comfortable and cozy. Too many awesome things to list!! We'll be back again without a doubt.

Nice rustic little farmstead camping spot. The listing and recent review pictures didn't match what we experienced - we had a very rustic spot in the forest by a dilapidated shed/building - but we had a lovely evening regardless, made by Walter and Emma who were delightful company and we felt safe with them guarding the area! Firewood ready on arrival was great.

Was a very nice place. Meeting Adam and learning about ranch was a wonderful experience. Very hospitable and so relaxing. The lake was a short drive away. It was really hot so we were able to have a water gun fight around the campsite. It’s a wonderful place and would go again.

The cabin was very clean and comfortable, I loved the trails and the space they have to wander around their land to see the beautiful landscape. The cats were very friendly and a joy to be around. We loved camping on Katy and Jon’s property! Their lovely dogs Emma and Walter kept us company the whole weekend, and Katy and Jon were so accommodating! We really loved being just a short drive out of Edmonton but feeling like we were in the middle of nowhere. We’re definitely looking forward to our next trip out there and can’t recommend it enough.

Very nice spot for farm style camping. Host and family are very kind and non-intrusive. Happy to tell you about the farm and animals. Animals are all very nice, kids had a wonderful time seeing the farm animals, learning about them from the hosts children and interacting with them.
Would HIGHLY recommend this place for a young child's first camping trip, as the farm animals and paths around them offer plenty of excitement.
There are multiple camp spots, so if you wanted more privacy I am sure the hosts could accommodate that too.
Am sure we will be back next year.

We had a lovely time at Adam’s property. It is a very scenic spot, surrounded by a meadow. It is a working cattle ranch, and Adam gave us tour of his ethical cattle ranching operation. My kids loved it. You are surrounded by nature, trees and horses which was lovely to wake up to. There is the world’s friendliest barn cat who made herself at home with us, too. It is rustic as described in the listing with a fair amount of bugs in the heat of the summer. We had a screen tent for cooking and eating which made it fine. There is a big firepit for roasting hot dogs and s’mores which we did every night. It’s so remote that you can see all the stars at night. Adam really was an amazing host, running an extra power cord to our tent and helping when I ran out of propane. It was a pleasure to stay on his ranch and I would definitely recommend it!

I loved our stay at the log cabin. It was cozy. Comforting. Peaceful and quiet. The communal hot tub served us well after a day of driving and hiking. The washroom was VERY clean. Loved the trails, the beaver dam and Sully - the little cat that followed us around on the trails and kept us company. If you are looking for a quick getaway from the city life or hoping to relax and chill for a week surrounded by the peace of the forest, then this is your place. Cook a meal on the propane stove or wood fire pit, read a book or simple spend an evening watching the beavers build their dam. I loved how welcoming Dave, and his wife was. Glad they are building an external sink and a communal kitchen to welcome longer stays and bigger groups. We would definitely go back.

It was one of the wonderful experiences in my life camping solo at Katy and her Family’s farm. Cozy lil spot in the forest. Just a mile from the beach. Emma & Walker their sweet little dogs will check on you every once, I must bring them a treat next time such beautiful dogs. PS they took me to the beach the morning I woke up. Perfect spot for campfire and watching the shades of the sky. This place will take you back in time if you just sit there listen.
