Our property is located in the heart of the boreal forest with plenty of birds, trees, peace and quiet. We have a mix of open spaces, walking trails, wetland discovery zones and dense forest, both on site and surrounding our land. We are near good fishing and swimming lakes and close to the Athabasca and Freeman Rivers. Our property is rated Class II on the Alberta Dark Skies Map.
We welcome all campers, whether you are a newbie or a seasoned explorer of all outdoor places and spaces.

We are a young family just starting out, we have 40 acres within walking distance to the lake with a nice little forest (currently we are working on an easy access through the trees but if you enjoy foraging this might fit perfectly!)
We are very open to helping set up activities or anything you may need. We have grown up in the area and know it very well and hope you enjoy your time!
The campsites are fairly private, but still close to all of the amenities that we offer.
We have recently added a 10 minute nature walk through the trees, this will include locations to sit and rest, as well as the ability to get some shade while soaking in all sounds and beauty of your surroundings.
Lac Ste. Anne is only a 15-minute drive from our property where you can enjoy swimming, hiking, biking, and so much more!
Please be mindful we are a farm, our animals are friendly but we ask that you respect the fences. Children are asked to stay on the cut grass unless accompanied by an adult (we have a pond and other various safety hazards).

I own 10 acres of land surrounded by farmers. We used to raise chickens and make big gardens every years, but my husband had health issues and we pretty much stopped.
My husband has since passed away and I find that this property is getting too big for me.
The best part about my place in my opinion is that it is mostly trees and very natural, and of course that there is a nice lake called Long island lake 15 minute drive from my home. It's fenced all around and extremely private.

We had the best stay here. Dale was an amazing host who always made sure we had everything and even offered to help plow us out if we got stuck on our way out. The cabin is beautiful, the stove is warm, and our nature walks were awesome. We even got to snuggle Sully the cat during our stay. We will definitely be back!

My friend & I had an amazing time at Dale & Colleen's. They are wonderful hosts - friendly, helpful and there were so many more great amenities than we expected or read about. The property is expansive and is well maintained. Our cabin and washroom was so clean and there were many added touches such as body wash, soap and towels. The cats were very friendly and sweet - we loved them! Beds were very comfortable and cozy. Too many awesome things to list!! We'll be back again without a doubt.

Nice rustic little farmstead camping spot. The listing and recent review pictures didn't match what we experienced - we had a very rustic spot in the forest by a dilapidated shed/building - but we had a lovely evening regardless, made by Walter and Emma who were delightful company and we felt safe with them guarding the area! Firewood ready on arrival was great.

Very nice spot for farm style camping. Host and family are very kind and non-intrusive. Happy to tell you about the farm and animals. Animals are all very nice, kids had a wonderful time seeing the farm animals, learning about them from the hosts children and interacting with them.
Would HIGHLY recommend this place for a young child's first camping trip, as the farm animals and paths around them offer plenty of excitement.
There are multiple camp spots, so if you wanted more privacy I am sure the hosts could accommodate that too.
Am sure we will be back next year.

We had a lovely time at Adam’s property. It is a very scenic spot, surrounded by a meadow. It is a working cattle ranch, and Adam gave us tour of his ethical cattle ranching operation. My kids loved it. You are surrounded by nature, trees and horses which was lovely to wake up to. There is the world’s friendliest barn cat who made herself at home with us, too. It is rustic as described in the listing with a fair amount of bugs in the heat of the summer. We had a screen tent for cooking and eating which made it fine. There is a big firepit for roasting hot dogs and s’mores which we did every night. It’s so remote that you can see all the stars at night. Adam really was an amazing host, running an extra power cord to our tent and helping when I ran out of propane. It was a pleasure to stay on his ranch and I would definitely recommend it!

I loved our stay at the log cabin. It was cozy. Comforting. Peaceful and quiet. The communal hot tub served us well after a day of driving and hiking. The washroom was VERY clean. Loved the trails, the beaver dam and Sully - the little cat that followed us around on the trails and kept us company. If you are looking for a quick getaway from the city life or hoping to relax and chill for a week surrounded by the peace of the forest, then this is your place. Cook a meal on the propane stove or wood fire pit, read a book or simple spend an evening watching the beavers build their dam. I loved how welcoming Dave, and his wife was. Glad they are building an external sink and a communal kitchen to welcome longer stays and bigger groups. We would definitely go back.

It was one of the wonderful experiences in my life camping solo at Katy and her Family’s farm. Cozy lil spot in the forest. Just a mile from the beach. Emma & Walker their sweet little dogs will check on you every once, I must bring them a treat next time such beautiful dogs. PS they took me to the beach the morning I woke up. Weekend Trip to Nature Alive Adventures and Camping
My bestfriend and I booked this retreat for a peaceful gateway and it was a huge success! The land is beautiful, sleeping in the cabin is a unique stay. We loved the experience since it offered us the best of both worlds: spending time in nature with the incredible sound of trees and fire, while enjoying the comfort of a cozy bed, a functional washroom/ shower, and a hot tub to relax. We were able to cook our food on a stovetop, and everything we needed was available. Being isolated does give a unique feel to the environment and sounds around you, I really recommend it! Dale was beyond welcoming and helpful during our stay, we learned lots from him and it was nice to have company!
- A couple of things to keep in mind: the last 10 minutes of the drive towards the property may be a bumpy road because of the rocks - just keep on going; you’re on the right track! In terms of cellular service, we were able to send a couple of texts in two specific spots that Dale has generously offered to show us, but I recommend downloading your offline maps before arriving and making sure your car’s GPS is up to date just in case. If you have a relatively new/ updated iPhone, you’re able to send messages through a Satellite connection. I’m certain you’d enjoy your relaxing stay on this beautiful land!
