Welcome to North Beach Inn. Located on beautiful Orcas Island, we offer 19 rustic, secluded cottages on a pristine sand-and-pebble beach. Our cottages come in a variety of sizes and configurations. Looking for quiet solitude or a unique romantic retreat? Try one of our cozy studio cottages. Need room for a family outing or group of friends? Try out one of our two- or three-bedroom cottages, which sleep up to seven guests. And, if you want to bring your pet along, no problem. All our units are pet friendly!

Blue Moon is one of our original cabins and was built in 1932, the same year we opened for business as a full-fledged resort. Located right on the water, the cabin has a small kitchen with a compact refrigerator and stove. The bathroom has a shower. In the living room there is a Queen bed and a twin bed. Like most of our cabins Blue Moon also has a fireplace. A small covered deck faces the ocean. The rental rate is for two people (adults or children). Maximum three people. Well-behaved pets (two maximum) are welcome! Two night minimum stay (except summer: see below).

From the cottage, you can look out over the beach and enjoy sweeping ocean views to the north. We are intentional about not having wifi and TV and hope their absence will foster a peaceful and relaxing "unplugged" getaway. Cell coverage is usually adequate in the cabin but may be spotty.
The kitchen has a compact stove, fridge, microwave, coffee maker (with reusable filter) and electric kettle. It is stocked with basic cookware and dishes but has no food nor condiments. A well supplied grocery store is only 2 miles away.
There is one full bathroom with a shower. We provide liquid castile soap for body and hair, tissues and toilet paper. Please bring your own toiletries, hair dryer, etc.

The roomiest of our 2-bedroom cottages, Funny Man’s is perfect for a family or a group of friends. Pet friendly. This unit is located right on the water and features a full- sized kitchen with a large dining table that overlooks the beach. One bathroom with a bathtub/ shower and a fireplace. A queen bed shares the living room, and a back bedroom has a second queen bed. The sleeping porch with two twin beds has its own door which opens onto the deck facing the ocean. The rental price is for four people (adults or children). Maximum six people. Well-behaved pets (two maximum) are welcome for an additional fee. Three night minimum stay (except summer: see below).
Built before any of our other cottages and cabins, Funny Man's is named after a worker who lived on the property in the 1930's. At that time, Ed Gibson was employed as a civil engineer for the Civilian Conservation Corps, building roads and bridges in Moran State Park. One of his men was quite a crack-up, and the young daughter of a guest once pointed at the white cabin, claiming it was the "Funny Man's House".

One of our most popular cottages, Lalla Rook is an extra roomy studio right on the beach, and has a large wrap-around deck, partially covered. It is well screened by native growth and is nicely distanced from the neighboring cottages, giving it a very private feel.
It has a queen bed, as well as a comfy fold-out narrow-twin bed. The bathroom has a tub/shower. The kitchen features a medium-sized refrigerator and compact stove, as well as a microwave, coffee maker, and toaster, and all basic kitchenware. Outside, a Weber-style BBQ adds cooking options (briquettes and lighter fluid not provided). Like most of our cabins Lalla Rook also has a fireplace. Lalla Rook was one of the original buildings on the beach, pre-existing the development of the resort in the early 1930’s. Rebuilt in 2001 with renovations in the spring of 2016. The cottage's unusual name comes from a love story-poem written in 1817 by Thomas Moore.

Redstone is located across the drive from the beach, and above the office. Wide water views from the living room and master bedroom, as well as sunny views out back to the cow pasture make Redstone unique. It features a large living room with a fireplace and a roomy kitchen/dinning area, with a full sized refrigerator and stove. The bathroom has a bathtub/shower combination. The cabin has two bedrooms, one with a queen bed and the other with a double bed. Additionally in the living room there are two futon couches capable of sleeping 1-2 people in each. Built in 1940’s as a one-room cabin, completed in the 1960’s, and enlarged in the 1980’s to be a fully functional cottage. The name comes from the Redstone rocket system developed in the 1950’s that spawned the Jupiter, Mercury and Saturn launch vehicles for NASA.

A Weber charcoal BBQ is provided; you'll need to bring lighter fluid and briquettes. Free firewood is available on a "help yourself" basis from the woodshed. Please enjoy beach fires; just make sure you build them on the beach gravel, below the high tide mark, and never burn driftwood. There are beach chairs and a picnic table in front of your cottage designated for your use.

Located right on the beach, it features huge picture windows all along the sea-view side. The galley style kitchen has a full sized refrigerator and stove. There’s a Franklin fireplace in the living room. The bathroom has a bathtub/shower. The cabin has two bedrooms and a sleeping loft. The front bedroom, with its large picture windows of the ocean, has a queen bed. The back bedroom has a queen bed also. Each of these bedrooms has a door into the bathroom (so you have to go through a bedroom to get to it). The loft, accessible by stairs, has three twin beds -great fun for children, but may be difficult for adults to stand upright! A large uncovered deck faces the ocean. The rental price is for six people (adults or children). Maximum seven people. Well-behaved pets (two maximum) are welcome! Three night minimum stay (except summer: see below).
Built in 1968, Shamrock was named to honor the Irish roots of the Maloney family, who have stayed with us since the cabin was built.

Romantic and private, Georgia is located on a small slope overlooking the sea. Its sunny southern exposure keeps it bright year-round, and affords a fun view over the cow pasture. In its setting slightly back from the beach, it is private and quiet. Georgia features an upstairs bedroom with a queen bed, and windows facing north and south. A Queen bed with a privacy curtain faces the ocean view in the entrance area a few steps down from the living room. Adjoining the living/dining area, which includes a double futon couch, is a compact kitchen with a small stove and medium-sized refrigerator, as well as a microwave, coffee maker wit re-usable filter, and toaster, and all basic kitchenware. Outdoors, a Weber-style BBQ adds cooking options (briquettes and lighter fluid not provided but available at our local well-stocked grocery store). Books, puzzles, games and firewood for beach fires are also provided for a relaxing and restoring “unplugged” getaway.
A handyman named George built a shack the 1950’s using materials he collected from around the property; in return he helped with odd jobs at the inn. After his departure, George’s Shack was added on to several times and became a rustic caretaker’s house. After being used to accommodate some desperate last-minute guests, it was upgraded to cottage status and renamed “Georgia.”
